Its been really disappointing to see some of the vitriol and defeatism on here this last fortnight.
As fans we were so confident in our first team as a whole last season and made big claims about the quality of the squad but as soon as we had an adverse result and a couple of injuries the knives come out.
Am I frustrated that Virgil was injured by a reckless and unnecessary challenge? Of course. That doesn't mean I hope Pickford suffers a serious injury though.
Personally I hope the opportunity for some of our fringe younger players to crack the first team will be grabbed with both hands.
Football is a squad game. We are more than 1 or 2 players.
