Hi Eds how are you all?
Given the recent influx of attacking players at Chelsea what are the chances of hudson-odoi becoming available? And if so what are the chances liverpool would be interested as I think he'd flourish under klopps tutelage.

lfcwingy

{Ed002's Note - He won't be moving to Liverpool.}

1.) 25 Aug 2020 22:33:23
he is on a fat salary right now that is very new, english premium, might as well write pull my pants down on our foreheads.

2.) 26 Aug 2020 02:08:34
He couldn't show he was better option to play regularly ahead of pedro or willian since he's come into the squad, pulisic, Werner, ziyech have been signed as Chelsea want those positions improved with quality, . Demanded that he is deserving of big money yet not proved anything, seeked a move to bayern likely not desiring to play regularly each week. Would get restless always being behind salah and mane, not the type of player klopp would want or need right now in our squad with minamino, Brewster, Elliot all showing more likely signs of bigger and quicker development.

3.) 26 Aug 2020 08:02:57
Let’s be fair to the kid he was wanted bu Bayern Munich for a very long time, played for England and looked good,
For me since frank came in he has gone backwards big time
Under klopp he potentially could be world class.

{Ed001's Note - he has been coming back from a serious long term injury! How is that Lampard's fault??}

4.) 26 Aug 2020 08:13:53
You missed the point completely
He has been fit for a long time now
And frank still chose to play Willian puslic Pedro infront of him which would of done his confidence no good at all
I guess we will see next season with Willian and Pedro gone how much game he gets
But thanks as always for the response mate.

{Ed001's Note - I haven't missed the point. You have. He is coming back from a long term injury that requires relearning how to run naturally, let alone kick a ball. You then have to get over the mental block of expecting a recurrence every time you sprint or push yourself. When he did play he struggled, so he was instead used as a sub against tired legs to get his confidence up. This is not an injury that just heals and leaves no scars. The mental scars are always there. They are what end players' careers more often than the physical injuries.}

5.) 26 Aug 2020 08:54:01
I watched the youth world cup a few years back and the England front 4 was Sancho, Hudson-Odoi, Brewster and Foden.

Let me tell you now, Brewster and CHO were the two best players of the 4 and in my opinion they will go on to have the better careers because they have learned to over come difficulties and set-backs. Both suffered major injuries and both have come back fighting.

They just needed time to recover, chances at Liverpool/ Chelsea, and not to be replaced whilst they were recovering.

6.) 26 Aug 2020 08:37:58
Ed I owe you an apology your right on this point and you explanation has made feel a bit of a fool
Sorry mate.

{Ed001's Note - you are not a fool. You were just seeing it from the point of view of a fan. I always try to put myself in the shoes of the person making the decision and try to understand why they make the decision, even if I disagree with it. Hudson-Odoi is a talented player, but he has been a bit of a problem off the pitch and needed bringing down to earth. Added to that, as I said his injury was an issue that also needed managing. I am not convinced by Lampard as a tactician or motivator, but he has, imo, managed this issue well. Also you have to remember how young the team was he was putting out, so picking Willian or Pedro also added a bit of experience to guide the youngsters too. It is rarely as simple as one player being preferred over another.}

7.) 26 Aug 2020 11:15:20
ed001 was he not suppose to be the best out of his age group. Achilles tendon rupture not a good injury it does not seem that long ago ed that if you got one of them that was just about you done I can remember are Johnny Barnes getting one for England and he was never the same player again. not sure if he moved to central midfield not long after that ed after losing is pace.

{Ed001's Note - he was the one that excited fans because of the way he plays, not sure he was ever the best of his age group. You are right though, it was not so long ago the injury he had would have been a career ender or at least changed its path to one that is less reliant on pace and movement ala Barnes.}

8.) 26 Aug 2020 14:02:30
I always remember Neil Webb rupturing his Achilles playing for England after just signing for Utd. He never came back from it.

9.) 26 Aug 2020 20:31:02
I feel a little sorry for the British players in the Chelsea squad with all the new purchases. Not sure how Mount, Hudson Adoi, Gilmore, Loftus-Cheek and Barclay get any minutes. When you think of Werner, Ziyech, havertz (when they sign him and pulisic the forward thinking players are really going to struggle to get playing time.

Hi Eds how are we all in the hot weather?
I have a question re Thiago, undoubtedly a quality player but I can't see us really being for him he's just to old for fsg to even consider it they've proved in the past that age isn't relevant if its the right player ie virgil, I just can't see Thaigo being in the same bracket as van dijk so question is in your opinions are the rumours a load of crap? Maybe if it was Thiago Almada I'd believe it but that's not what's being said

Cheers.

lfcwingy

{Ed002's Note - Bayern Munich are convinced that Klopp has been discussing a move directly with the player. The club will want someone sold to pay for him an dit does not, as you say, sit right with them. But Klopp has done well so perhaps they will let him have his way if the money can be raised.}

1.) 09 Aug 2020 21:27:19
He's 29. Too old? Bloody hell. I'm only a bit younger than that. I better check my pension pot!

If you think he's too old go and watch his highlight on BT sport of the Chelsea game this week where Kante couldn't get within 5 yards of him except when Thiago was tackling him. There's also an absolutely brutal 50/ 50 where Thiago comes out on top and the Chelsea player hits the floor 3 yards away from from where the challenge took place!

He looks fitter than ever and Chelsea's young and energetic high press were taken apart by him. It's on the BT sport social media pages. Watch it, then come back and tell me the man who made Kante look like Huddleston is too old.

2.) 09 Aug 2020 21:35:55
Harvey, after reading your posts the past few weeks I'm fully convinced you're Thiago's agent :)

3.) 09 Aug 2020 21:45:52
Hi Ed002, who do you think potentially could be sold to raise the funds needed to sign Thiago? Thank you.

{Ed002's Note - Keita might be an option. Grujic and Wilson might raise enough.}

4.) 09 Aug 2020 21:56:12
They're onto me Thiago! Abort mission. My cover is blown!

5.) 09 Aug 2020 22:36:22
Not trying to get you to discuss numbers, Ed002, but at 250K a week for a 29 year old, wouldn't that make him the highest earner at Liverpool? Does any of the current players earn that much?
I just don't know how this is going to work!

{Ed002's Note - I understand it would.}

6.) 10 Aug 2020 12:02:57
HMB, you say at éç Thiago is only a bit older than you. So tell me, are you a professional footballer whose body has taken a beating via injuries and the demands of the sport at the highest level like Thiago has in his career or like TheUnbearables said, his agent? Just asking for a friend, lol.

7.) 11 Aug 2020 11:19:58
I really like Thaigo, but averaging only 20 games per season over the last 10 years or so, but put a huge dampener on buying him for me.
However I do see him as a vast upgrade on Gini and Adam Llalana.
I think hr would be great along side Fabinho in a 4 2 3 1 formation.
When your 2 can win the ball and pick a pass it means that you can attack with your 3-1 along with wing backs.
Now who do we have to play the Lone Striker?
Answers on a postcards please.

Hi Eds, new to this forum but got to admit I love it great work all round

Mate of mine lives in Portugal, there's rumours that Liverpool are interested in a youth player called Florentinho 16 or 17 I think apparently very promising but I know little about him other than he's currently at Benfica, you heard anything or know about him?

Thanks.

lfcwingy

{Ed002's Note - Florentino Luis (DM) First choice for Milan. PSG and Marseille interest has moved on - will offer players to make a deal but needs to talk with new coach first.}

1.) 27 Jul 2020 17:39:38
Your knowledge never ceases to amaze me. People can almost pluck any player and you have some notes ready to go. It's crazy.

{Ed002's Note - It will be related to my omnipotence.}

2.) 27 Jul 2020 18:43:21
How many people have just googled omnipotence. We bow to your great power Ed 002.

3.) 27 Jul 2020 19:47:39
Yes but can you spell "pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis", Your High Omnipotency?

4.) 27 Jul 2020 20:39:25
I take a blue pill for my omnipotence.

Did anyone think gini or even robbo were going to be good enough when klopp wanted them? Trust the manager his track record with sigmings is pretty good, other than Karius and Shaqiri he's signed players that have all. improved under his management.
