I believe Messi wants to come to Liverpool, but Jurgen says he doesn't track back so no can do.

polecat

{Ed025's Note - hes looking at flats in norris green as we speak..

1.) 05 Aug 2021 21:16:13
Ed just a quick one, do you think this statement is a bit of gamesmanship by Barcelona to try and change the rules laws etc in la liga as they could lose arguably the best players in the world to another league and the revenue he bring to the league?

Or do you think that's it its done he's leaving?

{Ed002's Note - I have explained this on the appropriate pages.}

2.) 06 Aug 2021 07:49:17
Would probably be the best thing for Barca, he brings in revenue no doubt but his salary must have been crippling Barcelona the last few years.

3.) 06 Aug 2021 08:25:12
Salah to be sold to make space for Messi.

4.) 06 Aug 2021 11:23:43
Seriously fuser, Messi is only coming in as a Shaq replacment do no need to sell Salah.

Well at least that's the end of the Ceballos links, he's off to Arsenal on loan.
Who's next on the list? :)

polecat

1.) 25 Jul 2019 18:56:04
Sounds like a good deal. Didn’t need him but it has strengthened close opponents.

{Ed001's Note - no he has joined Arsenal, not a close opponent.}

2.) 25 Jul 2019 19:19:18
Ooooh tension in the Ed house, Ed047 won't like that Ed001 :)

{Ed001's Note - he would agree I am sure. He has to or his missus will have words as she is a Liverpool fan.}

3.) 25 Jul 2019 19:49:49
To be honest I’m not that fussed about this, I would rather not do any dealings with Real Madrid.

4.) 26 Jul 2019 13:27:55
Very good ED. We will see, we springboarded quite well after a Europa final loss under a good manager just getting his ideas imbedded. I think Arsenal can improve a lot from last season.

{Ed047's Note - I wish I could argue with Ed01 but sadly I can’t, mainly because she would kick off! 😂

This place is going to be hilarious after a week or two of the next transfer window.
I think the Edds will have to build a virtual Wailing Wall.

Best of luck to Jon Flanagan on his retirement from football.
Played for Liverpool, scored a goal and got a cap, what more could a young lad dream of.
Well girls I suppose.

1.) 18 Oct 2022 18:07:10
Best luck to scouse cafu!

2.) 18 Oct 2022 18:50:20
Good luck flano lad. The time he got stuck into sterling on sterlings first return with City think every Liverpool fan was out the seat, brilliant.

{Ed025's Note - excuse me but is this the same cafu who kicked the crap out of his girlfriend? Good luck my arse. The scumbag should still be in prison..

3.) 18 Oct 2022 19:08:38
His football will always be overshadowed by his assault on his girlfriend.

4.) 18 Oct 2022 19:34:33
Spot on Es025. The same guy who beat his GF and got arrested. Can’t believe some people would suck up anything. No difference between him and Greenwood.

{Ed025's Note - spot on LB..

5.) 18 Oct 2022 19:18:43
Agree with ed25 should never have gotten away with what he did and shouldn’t be praised.

{Ed025's Note - precisely FW mate..

6.) 18 Oct 2022 20:07:11
I didn't want to say anything (the thumbs down above is mine) but seriously, he was no Cafu and you don't slide first degree assault under the rug. I'm all for forgiveness and rehabilitation and all that, but still. Klopp even gave him the armband for a game. The man let the club, and above all - himself, down.

7.) 18 Oct 2022 20:10:58
I was thinking is this the same Flanno that is **** and beats his Mrs?

I wish him zero luck. I feel he used all his luck up when he stayed out of prison and was able to continue playing football until his retirement.

8.) 18 Oct 2022 20:50:04
I’m with you Ed025. Scumbag who is best forgotten.

{Ed025's Note - very much so Bobby..

9.) 18 Oct 2022 21:26:52
Exactly bobby. beating his girlfriend. Disgrace and the club shouldn't be wishing him the best either.

10.) 18 Oct 2022 22:13:16
Blimey!
People are wishing him well not wanting him knighted. If he wasn't dealt with then the legal system is to blame.

11.) 18 Oct 2022 22:34:28
Barely above the level of Greenwood.

12.) 19 Oct 2022 01:31:11
I'm going to give people the benefit of the doubt and just assume they'd missed the news on Flanagan because no one in their right mind would wish good luck to someone who admitted to assault, with no mention of any mitigating circumstances and there are very few, regardless of whether it was a partner, or a girl or guy. Our club or its well wishes have no place for thugs.

13.) 19 Oct 2022 09:42:24
Doesn't Flanagan deserve another chance? Or is that it? He's now an outcast and will be castigated for the rest of his life?
I've no real feelings on the lad either way but the reactions to someone wishing him well for his retirement are a bit much.

{Ed025's Note - really rigsby?..

14.) 19 Oct 2022 10:49:58
You can literally wish a guy well after a football career while at the same time, not condoning his disgraceful/ deplorable conduct. It's not an either/ or issue. Multiple things can be true at the same time.

{Ed025's Note - but why would you wish a guy well if you know he is capable of a deplorable act like that oli? Leopard and spots come to mind mate..

15.) 19 Oct 2022 10:57:02
First I knew about it reading it on here now, I always liked the lad as what he lacked in talent he made up with heart and passion.
Always wondered why his career nose dived? After reading on her what he did to his girlfriend it looks like he got what he deserved. But like what other people have said people deserve second chances, if he’s learnt from his mistakes I wish him well in the future. If not then his life may well go the same way his career did.

{Ed025's Note - hopefully..

16.) 19 Oct 2022 13:09:57
ED25 as I mentioned before, anyone is redeemable regardless of how bad their conduct can be. I do not believe in using someone's mistakes to beat him over and over again. Doing that, you are not giving people a chance to redeem themselves and become a better version of themselves.

Btw, who says his GF has not forgiven him and who says he hasn't atoned for his sins towards her? You don't know that. Let us be careful about judging people without really knowing them nor their lives apart from what we read about them. Judging others based on what we would have done is always wrong, IMO.

And lastly IMO, we need to show grace to others cos like it or not, we would want people to show the same grace to us should we mess up. The Golden Rule, Ed25?

{Ed025's Note - I have to admit I’m not a very forgiving person oli. Not many leopards change their spots imo and the amount of offenders who re-offend backs that up. Lord Longford wanted Myra hindley released and I never agreed with that either. There are enough do-gooders in this world who are soft on crime mate… maybe that mr hitler fella was not a bad chap and with a bit of therapy could have atoned and been of service to society?…it’s all my arse mate..

17.) 20 Oct 2022 00:38:33
Well if you're talking about Myra Hindley and Hitler when discussing John Flanagan, it sort of changes things. I didn't realise what he'd done was that bad.
For the record, I don't think Hindley or Hitler deserved retirement so I wouldn't wish them well should they have had one.

19 Aug 2022 20:48:27
I see Man U have agreed to buy Casemiro, I hope he plays against Liverpool on Monday because if there is one player not suited to the high line that Ten Hag wants to play it's Casemire.

polecat

1.) 19 Aug 2022 21:05:58
How long before the malaise in the Old Toilet dressing room gets him lads? 6 months?

{Ed014's Note - why do the keep giving these type of players one last big pay cheque!

2.) 19 Aug 2022 21:26:15
I can’t believe he’s retired from the Champions league at his age.

3.) 19 Aug 2022 21:40:44
you only have to look at some of the players who have signed for united in the last few years, and its all about the money, ha show me the money .

4.) 19 Aug 2022 22:18:26
that signing will give them a false bump Monday, but it will wear off quickly. there really seems to be no plan or strategy behind anything they do. kind of like us with Brenda.

5.) 19 Aug 2022 22:38:14
Presumably cos actually ambitious players with genuine ability are reluctant to touch the rancid waste dump, Ed.

It must be the most miserable place to be a player in the PL at the moment.

(Let's hope it's still that way after Monday)

{Ed014's Note - you’d literally have to be off you’re nut to go there, they have absolutely nothing going for them right now.

6.) 19 Aug 2022 23:49:45
We had a plan under Brendan. He was just too busy banging the secretary to coach the players. Was carried by Suarez and Sturridge till he complained he didn't have the right 'tools' to do his well paid job. Then Klopp arrived and made Lovren, Lallana and many Rodgers players into CL and league winners. For me Klopp is Shankly reincarnated. Fans who are bitching bout a CM now don't realise this is a golden era.

7.) 19 Aug 2022 23:50:49
Pretty sure he can’t play because he wasn’t registered before 12:00. Correct me if im wrong.

8.) 19 Aug 2022 23:54:32
Casemiro is world class but chasing the money at Utd. Will be great for 1-2 years and then end in tears. I bet he outstays ETH though.

9.) 20 Aug 2022 02:22:33
Earlier players went to China for one last big money cheque now they are going to United.

10.) 20 Aug 2022 08:00:55
Laboroni perhaps we should have signed him.

He can’t play because he wasn’t signed before 12 and we have a squad of players who can’t play at half 12 ?. Sounds like a match made in heaven.

11.) 20 Aug 2022 08:38:42
Your Rodgers point is the most sweeping generalisation of all time Rambo 8, we had the same miserable owners under Buck as we do now. The difference is we have a manager who punches above his weight. Additionally, Rodgers never wanted Balotelli which was detailed by Gerrard in his book. I mean we had owners etc who sanctioned replacing the best premier league striker we ever had in Suarez, who could move, play anywhere and was so flexible with a 6ft lamppost who hates to run. Worst signing ever.

12.) 20 Aug 2022 10:11:32
Casemiro is another example of the power of Man Utd he along with the likes of ronaldo and varane and Ibra and Cavani whether they’re transfers that work or not are transfers we could never dream to make. We can’t go to a club like Real Madrid and buy one of their starting 11, can’t be done by LFC yet Utd have bought 2 starting eleven players from them. That is the power they have even now and yes a lot of that power is financial.

13.) 20 Aug 2022 11:36:50
Genuinely don't know why you bother Frode. You hate the club so much what's the point?

14.) 20 Aug 2022 11:58:16
Leaving aside the fact that Man U are miles behind us for a minute Jezza, we were able to get Thiago when we wanted him, weren't we? Was he not part of Bayern Munich's starting 11? It's almost like the reason Liverpool don't buy many players like that is because we know it's a short term option in terms of squad progression.

Cassie's a good player, and I don't think he's finished cos he's 30 (considering I don't think Henderson finished cos he's 32). But he's not suited to how ten Hag is supposed to want to play, and they overpaid massively for him.

But, more importantly, Man U signing him is like buying a 2 litre bottle of fresh spring water and emptying it into a celtic tank. You still have 1000 gallons of crap after putting the water into it. You need to have the tank emptied instead. He'll get the infected by the rot at that club.

Seen a couple of Man U fans compare his signing to Makelele joining Chelsea, as he was 30 at the time as well. That's true but Makelele was a generational talent, who along with Alonso, broke the thinking of half the managers in Europe on defensive midfielders. Whilst Casemiro is just a good player. He also wasn't going in to such a damaged squad.

15.) 20 Aug 2022 10:48:42
Ed014 he's constantly got away with fouling players like Fernandindho and getting away with it to break up play. Let's see if he gets away with it here.

{Ed014's Note - I’ve seen nothing of him but just chatting to some guys who say he was good for Madrid.

16.) 20 Aug 2022 12:43:44
Ed014 he's about 3 stone overweight. Let's see how he gets in a more pysical league with more running required in the laziest team in the pl ?.

{Ed014's Note - that was one thing I noted in his pics he seemed to be carrying some timber like Luke Shaw.

He’s going to have his work cut out carrying that lot for sure.

17.) 20 Aug 2022 13:33:09
He must be able to do something considering he's got 4 CL medals and starts ahead of Fabinho for Brazil. Mind you so does Fred so maybe Fab is no use.

18.) 20 Aug 2022 15:27:19
We are moaning about a midfielder because it’s clear we need one.

30 Apr 2022 18:59:12
If only one or two Leeds players could look up and pass they might be able to worry City. Oh well onto the next match.

polecat

1.) 30 Apr 2022 19:17:22
City will win this and the rest of thier league games comfortably. Wolves are gone and in holiday mode, Westham will rest 7 players if in Europe League final, if they are not Moyes will find a reason and Villa are bang average. Its on Liverpool to beat them if they make the CL final. A nice cup treble will make up for loosing the league by a point to them, again.

2.) 30 Apr 2022 19:23:17
Once the Leeds players got beyond the half way line they just passed to where they thought someone might be and it was usually a City player. It was very funny to watch in a sicko type of way.

3.) 30 Apr 2022 19:46:29
Once we failed to beat them at etihad we were always going to play catch-up. But still I have little hopes coz city are showing abit of vulnerability and of coarse crap or not villa wolves won't be easy. The only downside is not that difficult to focus on 4 games especially when you know what's at stake.

4.) 30 Apr 2022 19:59:03
Pessimism at its finest Kimuraking.

5.) 30 Apr 2022 20:06:58
Think its more realism Irish Rover. Wolves were shocking again today, even thier manager was lost for words. Westham will either be prepping for a final or deflated at a semi final loss and won't be much cop. Villa have Gerrard as manager but the 11 players on the pitch do not share his allegiance to Liverpool and they are the very definition of nothing to play for. Im certain we will win all of our games but City won't have a glove layed on them, till Paris. If they get past Madrid. We will win the FA Cup and CL final if we get past Villereal on Tuesday. But the league isn't in our hands and I just don't see the medicare teams City face doing anything . Its very frustrating bit its how it is.

6.) 30 Apr 2022 20:17:35
Seems like it, but it's a game after all, the ball can be fickle.

Would help a lot if West Ham lose to Frankfurt and are still in the mix for Top 6, then the game means a lot to them.

I think teams rolling over for City is overblown. They're really good.

7.) 30 Apr 2022 21:16:49
Pessimism realism, same thing 🤣. The point is football doesn't work necessarily according to the rule book. If it was the case then Liverpool wouldn't be running City so close over the years.
Optimism won't kill you, it just gives you a bit of hope and belief that something might happen against the odds. If it doesn't, then so be it. I'm happy to enjoy the ride, its a good time to be a Liverpool fan.

Jurgen Klopp, turning doubters into believers since 2015 👍👌.

8.) 01 May 2022 07:21:39
Keep the faith mighty reds. City will drop points when least expected.

Like it is said above. enjoy the ride

Something special is happening here.

9.) 01 May 2022 18:55:11
We'll just have to beat them in the CLfinal then 😛.

15 Mar 2022 19:27:36
Not directly Liverpool related but the 'Boro chairman really lashed into Chelsea over their request to play the 1/ 4 final behind closed doors.
He could let rip at a few other clubs while he is at it.

I feel a lot of Liverpool supporters are fooling themselves into thinking Alonso has some desire to return to the club.
I remember hearing back in Rafa's time that the reason Rafa turned on him was that he found out Alonso was working behind the clubs back to get a move to Real Madrid, his first love, I'm sure the Eds can confirm or debunk that.
Alonso is a Spanish national and it's always going to be on his list to manage RM.
Amorim or Lijnders I feel will be the next manager. I can't see it being Nagelsmann as he won't be available until after the Euros and that would be nuts.

polecat

{Ed001's Note - Rafa turned on him because he missed a match to be at the birth of his child, nothing to do with him engineering a move to Madrid. By the way, his kids are reds and he regularly used to come back over, while at both Madrid and Bayern, to watch Liverpool play at Anfield and he has publicly stated a desire to manage Liverpool.}

When we had the 5 on 2 and didn't score I knew we would regret it, said it on another fourm straight away.
We were far too casual when we were in control and we should have scored another two.
Joe didn't play well but he also had two or three attacker to face at times.
How we lost to this shower I don't know but honestly, once we learn from this and don't repeat it in the league game, then I'm OK with it.

The only difference in the run-in is we play Everton, Sheffied U and Man U, they play Arsenal, Luton and Forest. The other teams on each list of games are the same. Home or away doesn't matter as they are all winable for us in my red tinted view.
