Question for anyone in the know
What is the money value of winning a champion league game group stage, then each knock out stage
Also is there money for each premier league match win / draw?

Thanks.

ranfurly

{Ed002's Note - Champions League:

€15.64m for qualifying for the group stage
€2.8m per group-stage win
€960k euros per group-stage draw
€9.6m euros for qualifying for the last 16
€10.6m euros for qualifying for the quarter-finals
€12.5m euros for qualifying for the semi-finals
€15.5m euros for qualifying for the final
€4.5m euros for winning the final

There is no money for winning/drawing PL games.}

Can someone please let Uefa know we’ve won a few CL games over the last 4 seasons. I don’t think their finance department have had the memo 🙄.

2.) 26 Nov 2021 12:54:15
wow. had no idea it was that kind of money. €2.8m for a win! that is reason enough to not play a weakened team! especially in our financial state.

3.) 26 Nov 2021 14:08:10
That kind of money is nothing in football today.

4.) 26 Nov 2021 15:21:23
2.8m a year could be the difference between Salah signing a new contract or not Salah.

5.) 26 Nov 2021 19:22:55
When you consider how paltry the prize money is for the domestic trophies, you can see why teams bin them off.

6.) 26 Nov 2021 19:57:14
Winning all 6 group games would overall give us just roughly £27.5m - no wonder we play our strongest 11.

7.) 27 Nov 2021 04:08:47
How do you work that one out JH?

8.) 27 Nov 2021 07:40:02
Well 2.8m over a year is £50k-ish a week. That could come down to what the difference in what Salah wants and what the club are willing to pay a week. £50k is a lot of money weekly and shouldn't be discarded.

9.) 27 Nov 2021 08:45:14
JH I never really looked at it that way mags and that’s just if we won 1 CL game. You can see the importance of the CL to clubs though. The 2 seasons we won it and got to the final we banked around 110-120 million euros. That’s the cost of Allison and Fab.

10.) 27 Nov 2021 05:26:45
Thanks
Kinda makes sense how important it is to qualify for a CL spot
That’s a lot of money to be missing out on and still try to compete with the top pl teams
Thanks Ed 2.

11.) 27 Nov 2021 09:37:16
If we beat Milan in the last game the difference in prize money to last year would basically be a Harvey Elliott or a Kaide Gordon. Not chump change i suppose. Still would like to see us resting some players for the trip to Italy though😁.

12.) 27 Nov 2021 10:04:33
If we beat Milan we will be the first ever English team to win all 6 group games. Nice little accolade but means little if we then don’t progress much further. I would happily take a defeat if it means we lift that Trophy at the end of the comp for the 7th time.

Ed's I've got a request please
Any chance of a profile of players brought in Klopps Time at LFC
Price paid
Estimate value now
How big a influence they have had on the squad?
Much appreciated.

ranfurly

{Ed001's Note - I have added that to my to do list.}

1.) 12 Feb 2020 10:04:16
Your to do list is like the Liverpool season ticket waiting list, never bloody ending. I will take a bash at the above (without the player profile) .
In order from most important

VVD - game changer. £70m to £140 the only reason it isn't higher is he isn't a forward.

Mane - second because he has been here the longest. Mane instantly improved the team, and still improving. His work rate for a wide player is unmatched. £35m to £150m.

Salah - his goal involvement is the highest in the league and by some distance. IMO will win the golden boot again. £35m to £150m.

Allison - many people will have him higher but he has only been here 2 seasons. Best keeper we have had in 40 years maybe ever. £70m to £100m.

Robbo - seems unfair to have him in 5th but the others are just so good. £10m - £65m.

Gini - last season our best midfielder, got tired towards the end but when fresh he always puts 100% in. I always feel there is more to come from Gini. He should beleive more in himself. £30m to not sure don't think anyone would pay more than £30m given the type of player he is and age.

Ox - Very unlucky with the injury. Just before he got injured he was our best midfield player. A massive reason why we didn't beat Madrid. He seems to be getting back to best but a little way to go. £35m to £50m.

Fabs - would be higher in any other era. Only really played 12 months but is a massive boost to the team. Hendo has even learn't from him. Should continue to improve and can play several positions. As a number 6 not many better. £50m to £65m.

Matip - still a big positive but he took his time to get to the level required. After a few very average seasons he came good last season and was excellant a big reason we won number 6. Knee issues a worry. Free to £15m.

2.) 12 Feb 2020 12:47:07
Gini shouldn't go for less than 50mil. He shouldn't go full stop.

Shaqiri 13mil go 25mil at least.

Keita 55mil to 40mil (due to his injuries and reported attitude)

3.) 12 Feb 2020 13:04:55
Gini was up for sale last season and no takers. Can't see £50m as all the clubs who could pay that aren't interested. As much as you disagree Robbie no one would pay £50m.

Shaqiri £25m agree

Keita £40m would be about right atm. Hopefully he improves his fitness and value asap.

4.) 12 Feb 2020 13:37:15
I think if the Mancs are looking for 150m pogda u can certainly bump up those prices!

5.) 12 Feb 2020 13:56:50
they might be looking but they won't get. PP does though bring in additional monies. Read somewhere he is in the top 5 most marketable players in the world. Huge following on social media.

Probably £90 - £100m.

6.) 12 Feb 2020 15:05:50
Markp08, are you sure Gini was up for sale last season? While he was one of our first choice midfield 3? I haven’t heard that before.

7.) 12 Feb 2020 16:12:01
Wirral Wonder - have a search for Ed002’s comments on Gini. Some clubs enquired after him and we were willing to sell if the price was right (£30m I believe)

8.) 12 Feb 2020 17:17:56
Thanks Sandman. I didn’t know that Ed002 had made that comment. It surprises me.

9.) 12 Feb 2020 17:21:18
Mental to think that Klopp is willing to sell the midfielder that has the most appearances under him since his time here as manager.

10.) 12 Feb 2020 18:26:29
Trying to sell Gini was mentioned quite a bit on here at the time. I know you like Gini WW but he is one Klopp feels can be improved, I agree with that as well. To get even better we need to start scoring a few more goals to take pressure off later in matches. The midfield needs a few more goals IMO.

11.) 12 Feb 2020 18:27:14
Doesn't have to be entirely Klopp's decision. Wijnaldum may have wanted to go himself, for reasons that only he may know. And it wasn't just Ed002. It was all over the media last summer.

12.) 12 Feb 2020 19:21:42
Nobody in their right minds will be signing a 30 yr old midfielder like Gini for 50m, IMO. Ain't going to happen. And yes, Gini was up for sale in the summer of 2018 but wound up staying which was brilliant for him and the whole team. Klopp may just think he can improve on him hence, why we have been looking at midfielders like Sander Berghe of Genk b4 he moved to Chris Wilder's Sheffield Utd. I want Gini to stay but if Klopp thinks he can do better than him then I'll trust his judgement.

13.) 12 Feb 2020 20:39:22
Pogba is valued higher than ability due to marketing value - like it or not his silly haircuts bring in followers, likes and merchandise sales!

14.) 12 Feb 2020 21:37:56
I value Gini too, but, for he could do a lot more instead of the easy no risk pass, if you take note of who loses the ball and attack breaks down, its usually Gini or Salah, sorry Mo .

15.) 13 Feb 2020 03:53:28
Klopp has made 39 signings I think for us so far. Excluding the likes of caulker, manninger, lonergan, klavan, Adrian etc as the signings for short term only I can only think of karius and solanke as incomings that have not been successful. Yes keita still might not succeed but I can't think of others. Even solanke made us big profit and karius likely to aswell. Shaqiri will leave with profit. Robbo and minamino cost 8 mill each, matip on a free, salah mane VVD Allison fabinho gini OX were all signed for much less than the value they've proceeded to reach since signing. The likes of Elliot, van den berg, Hoever were signed for pennies and can only turn out to be unbelievable business in the future.

First time post been reading for a few years. finally decided to write something. Great result today won semi final over two legs off to Wimberley for the final! ! not the best performance but we won! winning is the most important thing is it not as no one remembers second place stop pulling the team apart. All the way from new Zealand sitting in 30 degree warmth.

1.) 27 Jan 2016 05:07:45
We actually tied with Stoke over the two legs. We won a penalty shootout to advance to the final.

{Ed001's Note - so did we or did we not win? And was the penalty shootout not a part of the two legs laid out in the rules of the cup competition we were playing in?}

2.) 27 Jan 2016 06:39:00
Did we win the game, no, Stoke did 1 -0, with two leg semi final being tied at one game a piece, which is what I said. And as you said as per the rules of the competition, a penalty shoot out ensued which we won 6 -5 allowing us to advance to the final from what was a tied, two legged semi final.

{Ed001's Note - you were just being an annoying pedant trying to correct someone for no reason, give it a rest. We won the two legged semi-final to go through, whatever the method. You will find penalty shootouts and extra time are not separate from the match itself, hence why you have to use players that were involved.}

3.) 27 Jan 2016 06:58:17
Liverpool beat Stoke 6-5 on penalties so they go to the final - Michael Owen.

4.) 27 Jan 2016 08:01:08

Remember we're all one big happy family today!
