Ed002 I hope they sort this out quickly after agreeing a fee only a couple of weeks ago they should not mess about arguing to much over the fee because it’s not worth the hassle as the fee we agreed was only £8m what is peanuts in this day and age.
Could be a chance for the club to act in the right way for a change in the transfer market.

You're correct in that they're talking, but I had no heard that they were close on Firmino. It's possible I missed that. My feeling is that Spain will offer him more than what we're willing to offer, and he may pursue another opportunity as a final chapter to his career.

We should just sell Gomez and keep Nat Philips. Instead, we are doing it the other way around. Gomez is too injury prone and can't even stay fit for a full season. He is decent but decent is not good enough, especially with all the time spent on the sideline.？

His agent confirms that there is interest from Real Madrid who are looking for a Luka Modric replacement and that he has been approached by a third party representing Newcastle and is aware that other clubs, including Bayern Munich and Liverpool have scouted the player but not declared an interest. Interest of the Manchester sides has probably gone. Arsenal provide a wildcard option.}

Ed2, apologies in advance but can you clarify (genuine question) what would the difference be between declaring an interest and approaching/ speaking to his agent?
Does Club A not need the permission to speak to Club B's player's agent? Or is it only to speak to speak to the player themself? Is it not implied that asking to speak to the agent (if that's the case) or player is declaring an interest?

I think at around that price his a good signing he is playing under Rodger’s so am sure Klopp can improve him would definitely rather have him in the squad than Naby. If we are lucky we might get£25m for Naby so only an extra £10m I bet the wages won’t be any different as well.

He always seems a bit lazy and lightweight for me. Bissouma would make far more sense in my honest opinion as he’s hard working, moves the ball quickly and tackles anything that moves.

Would agree that Tielemans would be way down the list of options.
Bissouma would have been the perfect fit but his off-pitch stuff is a concern. Whether the club would want to go near near him once resolved or not is to be seen.
Tchouameni seems to be of interest too but is in high demand across Europe. Chelsea and others have already done a lot of the legwork.
It's telling that we didn't want to compete with others for Zakaria which suggests we have a no1 target that we really want to pursue.
Would be disappointed if it is Renato Sanches given his injury concerns. Not heard much on Florian Neuhaus but I am sure he's still on a list somewhere.
Will be interesting to see what we do here.

about asensio any truth in the stories of a poor attitude and work rate from him.
as he would be cover for salah or maybe drop into midfield, i would prefer to use elliott.
out of all the rumours only barella interests me.
{Ed002's Note - Marco Asensio (RW/LW) Goals have largely dried up and his representative is working with a third-party agent to find a club willing to pay something like €40M for the player. The third party has said that the player ideally wants a club in the Champions League but the discussions he has had have been with Leicester City, Newcastle and Leeds so far, and admits knocking on the door of other PL clubs including Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester United and Spurs. Player is almost certainly not open to moving to a side not in the Champions League. Milan and Juventus were approached but showed no interest, although Milan have since met directly with his representative to discuss price having stepped back from another target - although Ziyech is also in the mix for them. I suspect he might be seen as an option by Liverpool being able to play on either wing or in an AM role - and Liverpool have approached his reprentative. PSG provide a potential option. Real Madrid will be open to using him in a part exchange deal of some type but finding a buyer at the asking price might be difficult but will also perhaps try and do something with Dortmund. A new contract seems unlikely, but Madrid will not want him to run down his contract.}

i know we will be after a high profile signing to replace sadio and while i don't see a need to replace origi as we would have 5 attackers, reading between the lines is there any interest in maybe abraham or watfords joao pedro.
