Good day Eds.

Sorry about throwing in a random name, but have we or any other team looked at Youri Tielemans of Anderlecht. Been following the Belgian league and saw him in the Champions League. Very composed for a 17 year old. 18 tomorrow.

I feel he has the potential to be one of the best in his age range in the coming years.

Thank you.

realtofel

{Ed002's Note - Lots of interest from clubs but not Liverpool.}

1.) 07 May 2015 05:50:16
Hasn't he agreed to join Atletico?

2.) 07 May 2015 06:24:56
Has he agreed to go to Barca in 2016? Saw that on another forum.

When Spurs went 2-2, I thought "I hope they don't get to the final". I've been complimentary of Ajax a number of times on the site today, but Spurs bullied them in that second half. They were very physical and if they could beat Ajax that way, I was sure we could too.
Liverpool vs Spurs. Not sure I like that.

realtofel

1.) 08 May 2019 22:12:12
Quite worried with that, Moira looked lethal. Fancied us beating Ajax fairly simply. Spurs could go either way. They always turn it on against us, remembering the 4-1 last season, then the double pen in the other game.
Imagine the stick if we lose to them as well!

2.) 08 May 2019 22:18:55
I felt ajax were going to be easy to beat in the final. Spurs just made it interesting. going to be sad whoever loses, just like the premier league.

3.) 08 May 2019 22:21:55
Not the final I wanted either, realtofel BUT we will be ready for them, no doubt.

4.) 08 May 2019 22:26:35
Moura against VVD and Robertson? Not a chance.

5.) 08 May 2019 22:32:28
For 135 minutes of that tie Spurs were second best. Ajax beat Ajax in the last 45 minuets of it. Why they changed thier style like that is beyond me, and with the choice of music playing at half time a touch of arrogance was there perhaps. If Liverpool play the way we can we will win that game. If we play anyone at present we will win. That's how good we are playing. If we get 2 or 3 up in that final the mistakes made by Ajax will not be made by Liverpool.

And let's be honest if in August someone said to you name a team you think can make the final against Liverpool that you really do NOT want to play, Spurs are 5th or 6th on that list. I have praised them tonight, to do what hey have done with all the injuries and little player investment in two widows is incredible. But we are going to beat them. We will win.

6.) 08 May 2019 23:44:01
Spurs would be close to top. I think they've had liverpool match last few years. They destroyed us last season. In open plaý i think they have our game. Please let me be wrong.

7.) 09 May 2019 00:02:27
Spurs have won one of their last 14 games against liverpool so their recent record really isn't that good.

8.) 09 May 2019 00:54:32
They beat us BEFORE we signed vvd. Now we have alisson too. And the two best full backs in the league. I don't give spurs a chance. I don't know why people are worried about it?

We beat them twice this season, quite easily. And we just beat barcelona 4 0. And you're worried about spurs!

The trophy is all but ours. Send balls to llorente, vvd will just send them back. Robbo will kick son out of the game and pur unbelievable midfield won't give erikson a second to breathe.

Also, we were there last season. Looked the better team til ramos knackered salah. Spurs will not be so relaxed.

Ajax's yputhful optimism could have caused a shock. We know what we are dealing with with spurs. A knackered team who are out of form.

Fair play to them tho, didn't think they had it in them.

9.) 09 May 2019 08:09:56
I'll think you'll find the more recent spurs game was tight as anything, and wasn't it an own goal that won us the game? Hardly an easy win!

There is a big difference between Henderson at 6, and Henderson at 8.

{Ed002's Note - Long trousers?}

1.) 17 Apr 2019 22:33:12
Classic Ed002.

{Ed0333's Note - Made me chuckle that one 🤣

2.) 17 Apr 2019 22:39:48
That had me in stitches 😂.

3.) 17 Apr 2019 23:16:25
Love that Ed.

4.) 17 Apr 2019 23:26:56
OP, Hendo did a brilliant job in the 6 role esp. for someone who had to learn the position via on the job training. The no. 8 was ALWAYS his best position and credit to Klopp for listening to his capt. It just shows that he NEVER makes things always about him and is ready for outside input even from his players.

5.) 18 Apr 2019 00:43:51
It's his running gait. It can't be sustained after the age of seven.

6.) 18 Apr 2019 01:58:17
I so wish we could give thumbs up to Ed replies.

Looks like Joe Gomez will be out for longer than expected, but Fabinho should be back for Leicester.
Looks like Lovren should be back though.

realtofel

1.) 25 Jan 2019 18:41:36
Great news, OP. With Matip having more time to work on his fitness and hopefully with Gini back, we may have enuff bodies to field a strong defence and midfield come Wed.

2.) 25 Jan 2019 19:00:34
Right full back still problematic though?

3.) 25 Jan 2019 20:41:19
Doesn't Fabinho play right back for Brazil? If he's fit then I don't see that we have a problem there.

4.) 25 Jan 2019 21:09:47
Fabinho is not quick enough to play full back, same issue we saw with Milner.

5.) 25 Jan 2019 21:55:51
Wingers mustn't sprint against Brazil then.

6.) 26 Jan 2019 10:46:30
Juicer first off, comparing Milner (a midfieder by trade) to Fab (a converted DM from the RB role by trade) lacks any type of logic. Secondly, you are aware that if you don't have quickness or pace, you simply CANNOT play the FB role for Brazil, right? So if that is the case, why would he have a prob playing RB if he is the current starting RB for Brazil?

10 Jan 2019 14:10:21
John Aldridge talked about Klopp clearing "deadwoods" in the team. Isn't that kind of rude. Even if the player knows he's a deadwood (like Moreno that he mentioned by name), I don't think he'll like to be called that.
On the other hand, he also talked indirectly about Origi and Sturridge and the need for 2 more forward players.
With Harry Wilson coming back (I expect him to get game time next season. He's 21, he may as well start playing), I think we need just one more forward next season.

realtofel

1.) 10 Jan 2019 14:58:21
He’s just a mouth on a stick.

2.) 10 Jan 2019 15:00:01
It is a bit rude but I'm sure Moreno has heard himself being called much worse than that in his Liverpool career.
I too would be happy with one forward in the summer and to welcome Wilson into the squad next season.

3.) 10 Jan 2019 15:14:15
After morenos showing against Wolves, deadwood is highly complimentary if ya ask me.

4.) 10 Jan 2019 15:16:50
Deadwood is a terrible term and not fair at all. But you look at the contract situations of some of our players, and the lack of quality of others, and it looks like an exodus is going to be a realistic occurrence in the summer.

I'm looking at Mignolet, Grabara, Clyne, Randall, Moreno, Lallana, Milner, Allan, Ejaria, Markovic, Kent, Sturridge, Origi, and Awoniyi in particular. I'm not sure any of those will be Liverpool players at the start of next season.

5.) 10 Jan 2019 15:55:14
I thought Grabara was held in quite high regard?

6.) 10 Jan 2019 16:24:32
Jeeez. Give me 80 grand a week and you can me Shaniqua for all I care.

7.) 10 Jan 2019 16:59:31
It seems as though Kelleher is now more highly rated than Grabara. Doesn't mean he'll leave but I wouldn't put money on him staying.

8.) 10 Jan 2019 17:20:00
Lol you and me both LFC8!

9.) 10 Jan 2019 18:24:10
Moreno I'm sure has had opportunities to move on with limited game time and further his career and play a lot of games. But he has chose not to and to stick it out at Liverpool knowing he's not getting a game. Not the first and won't be the last. Happy to take the £, no ambition.

{Ed001's Note - like what opportunity?}

10.) 10 Jan 2019 18:56:56
Other players say they would like to leave to get game time. I can't believe he's not been close to a move. Milner played I his position for a season, that's got to frustrating enough to force a move.

{Ed001's Note - and Moreno has said he would like to leave for game time. There is no interest because he is overpaid and we are asking too much.}

11.) 10 Jan 2019 19:21:31
Fair play ed01 I stand corrected.

{Ed001's Note - the problem is the interest is from Spain and, in particular, Sevilla, who do not have the money to make a deal.}

12.) 10 Jan 2019 19:28:59
Is this why the German teams are looking at English youth because there's no money compared to our league in the European leagues?

{Ed001's Note - it is more because English clubs do not give them as much first team football as German clubs do. Though that is partly down to the money differential, as they can't buy 45 squad players and so have to look to develop youth players.}

13.) 10 Jan 2019 19:35:09
In your opinion ed do think there will ever be a meaningful cap on overseas players? This would maybe help players like Moreno not waste their careers sitting on the bench. Cheers ed.

{Ed002's Note - the PL is stuck between success, which has happened and sense which says you have a mass of youngsters, use them. Everyone - including the clubs - want the youngsters - but not at the expense of the success.}

14.) 10 Jan 2019 21:06:26
6 months ago I would have argued a case for both sturridge and lallana. But after watching Danny against wolves, be made zero effort. Didn't make runs, didn't look to recieve the ball, I don't remember him going up for a header let alone winning one.

Then you look back at the Chelsea game where he was all over gbe place wanting the ball and he smashed home a worldie. I can honestly see that being his last goal for us (has he scored since then? )

2 years ago if you had talked about selling lallana I would have laughed and called you crazy. But he has done nothing since coming back from injury. Nothing. No assists (might be 1) but now I understand why his anfield future is in doubt. He just hasn't done enough. It's a shame coz he was playing really well before his awful injury and in the 18 months he was out, the team has changed. Been on a ucl run to the final together.
And he is getting on, he's not going to get quicker. But maybe we need a few old heads in this title pushing team.

I wouldn't sell dither of them until the summer. We need to get rid of sturridge and origi, bring through brewster and buy a forward. And we can look forward to Duncan joining the team. I believe he might be the next fowler, the next Owen. Honest. And I think that's why klopp got shot of origi.

15.) 10 Jan 2019 21:13:07
Don’t think he gives a toss what he’s called u can call me Susan if I was getting 80k a wk so fair play to aldo saying it like it is!

16.) 10 Jan 2019 21:32:06
Robbiesline, I believe that was Studges first start since the Carabou cup and Lallana hasn't started back to back games in God knows how long. It may be that they move on next season but Klopp seems to have the up most respect for both of them and in Lallana's case I think he has an important part to play in what hopefully is our march to the title.

17.) 11 Jan 2019 20:43:06
As soon as you use the word, "Deadwood", you should automatically lose whatever argument you are having. That label is despicable and clearly, Aldo should know better BUT he doesn't. He should go wash his mouth out with soap first before he comes and discusses which players should leave or stay at LFC.

15 Sep 2018 14:27:09
Someone has to talk to Klopp about changing the back four at the last minute. I hope it doesn't cost us one of these days.
Salah seems to be over-anxious to score and Mane was indecisive with the final passes at times.
All in all, fantastic three points away from home.
YNWA.

I think we could of done with another forward in the summer too freshen things up and not b too predictable feel a bit sorry for shaqiri got a feeling he could do good things for us.

3.) 15 Sep 2018 14:54:18
He doesn't seem to have learnt a single thing about subs.

He's just not improving with it.

Every is brilliant apart form that it's trully trully awful.

4.) 15 Sep 2018 15:34:44
Some people are never happy.

5.) 15 Sep 2018 16:26:48
You mean: Some people are always looking to improve our play. Putting on Matip at the end invited on pressure and it probably would have been 2-2 had it not been for a wrong call from the ref.

6.) 15 Sep 2018 16:54:14
You can always improve chakob but 5 wins from 5 really isn’t the time to complain about anything. Winning your first 5 games in the bPL is no small feat.

7.) 15 Sep 2018 17:01:50
If your first post after beating a top 6 rival away is a complaint then you are never happy.

8.) 15 Sep 2018 17:31:57
Seriously?

9.) 15 Sep 2018 18:30:34
Great start to the season 🏆

Matip does seem to be a goal magnet 🤨.

10.) 15 Sep 2018 18:47:09
Klopsboss is right.
There was another thread several weeks ago abt the same substitutaion issues and the problems it causes.
Klopp is stubborn and unless the sittuation really becomes critical he does nothing abt it.
Good examples of this were the defence and goalkeeping positions.
It took Klopp 2 and a bit seasons to accept he needs better defenders - that's after 5 previous seasons of having defenders that were campetent enough and those that were, were aging on a downward decline.
Rodgers lost us the title because of defence issues.
As for goalkeepers, it was only afyer realising how angry fans were at Karius and then deciding to buy a new keeper.
Being stubborn leads to ignorance.

The LFC fans are all happy to over look cracks in the the team and dismiss them when we are winning but wehn we do not win they all of suddon become experts and see all the cracks that were there before.

I do not always ageee with everyones opinion on here but to dig him out for wanting a perefect setup/ performance/ team.

11.) 15 Sep 2018 22:03:03
I don't know if it took Klopp 2.5 seasons to "accept" we needed changes or if it took that time to effect the changes. i'm leaning with the latter as I'd always felt it'd take 3 summer windows to get Klopp's squad in shape.

12.) 15 Sep 2018 21:20:12
15 from 15 lads. just be happy.

13.) 15 Sep 2018 22:03:51
People were over confident on Salah to score 40 goals again! That is not happening. Which is why he chased Fekir all summer. We still haven’t got that Phil Coutinho magic in our midfield!

14.) 15 Sep 2018 23:29:00
Seems to me that now that Wijnaldum has proved the moaners wrong, it’s the manager’s substitutions that are coming in for stick. 5 wins out of 5 - just enjoy it for what it is.

15.) 16 Sep 2018 00:05:14
Salah won’t need to score 40 goals this season because our defence will concede less than last season.

Matip/ Lovren/ Gomez have all missed big chunks of games over the past 3 seasons. Perhaps, that's why Klopp wants Diego Carlos.
It would be a shame though. Was hoping Gomez will make the role his permanently from 2020/ 2021 season.

I hope he doesn't leave, but if he does, we should target Dembele or Sane. Luckily, Sane seems unhappy at City though they may not want to sell to us.
Outside those two, Pepe is the only winger whose name seems to be getting traction and he won't be moving to Liverpool.

What's the business/ sporting sense in offering him a new contract?
He can't leave on loan or be sold, or that would've happened over the past couple of seasons. And he isn't good enough to be a backup.
Just let him leave.

I think Mane’s replacement should be a right-sided forward. We couldn’t rest Salah because no one else can play on the right to a good standard.
Jota/ Carvalho/ Firmino already play through the center.

Keita needs to leave IMO. It’s just like Bayern let Tolisso leave, even though he’s not a bad player and was their record signing, I think.
There’s enough sample size to show it isn’t worth renewing his contract.

Just for additional context:
Whenever you play an Egyptian club in the CAF champions league, their fans would’ve the lasers in your eyes all game long. And they did that to the Senegalese players in the 1st leg.
This was about paying them back in their own coin. CAF never had an issue with it, so all is fair in love and war.
