Just a quick post on the prices of the tickets, me and my family are what's regarded by some as day trippers or tourists going to see a match, I live in Ireland and don't get to matches as often as I would like due mainly to the fortune it costs to get to a match, took my son to anfield last Feb to see the city match and we had an absolute ball but we could have had a week in Spain for what it cost with the Euro - sterling exchange rate, I work in an ordinary job myself and it took ages to save for it and had to pay over the odds for tickets but we just didn't have the choice, they where by the way worth every penny, a good majority of the people around me where in the same boat and would have paid what was asked just to be there, people will always pay the money to be at anfield regardless of the cost.

And that's the reason why the prices have gone up.
Like it or not but it's simple supply and demand.
The club know they can fill the stadium pretty much despite the price of a ticket.
The owners would rather have a couple of million extra a year than care what the average fan (customer) wants.

{Ed001's Note - but they do not know any such thing. It was the reason they had to fire Rodgers, the seats were empty.}

2.) 08 Feb 2016 21:38:45
To be fair to ed001 there, I stopped going towards the end of BR time at the club.
So there was probably more.

3.) 08 Feb 2016 22:45:17
Good effort saving up and taking your son mate, i have never been to anfeild and will be having to save a fortune to go as i live in Australia but my son and i watch the home and away fans and have loads of respect for them spending there hard earned money on a ticket. My son and i will get there one day and enjoy a beer and banter along the way.

4.) 08 Feb 2016 21:39:03
Not sure I really follow, Ed001? Anfield has been at around 44k all league games this season?

{Ed001's Note - no it hasn't, attendances dropped just before Rodgers was sacked, there were a lot of empty seats.}

5.) 09 Feb 2016 09:38:15
I've only been to Anfield the once. Vs Charlton. God scored his first return goal, but cisse was offside : (

I'm in Australia. And the only way I got tickets was the lovely lady in the gift shop. My wife was talking to her while I was like a kid in a candy store. Next thing you knew we had 2 tickets, 4 rows behind reina.

Cost me in excess of 20 grand. And I'd do it again given half the chance.

What is it abou more than a few ex Liverpool players turned analysts these days that have nothing good to say about the team ? Owen had absolutely nothing positive in his comments during the full 90 mins today, that clown lawrenson had turned into a fergie worshiper in his time and Hansen was acid critical too, in fairness too souness he still refers to the club as We, a lot of these guys seem to be tinged with slight bitterness.

Maybe they're not being sucked in with the mania surrounding the manager.

Wise decision I say, and we can all learn a lesson.

Maybe, as pundits, they're supposed to display an unbiased opinion, otherwise, they wouldn't earn a meg.

Either way, I wouldn't take too much notice as Souness is the only one who makes sense with his analysis.

Going off the Liverpool theme, I thought it was refreshing to listen to Glen Hoddle. Great player, great unbiased pundit and it's someone I would love to hear much more of. He's one of them you just have to listen too as the man oozes class.

2.) 17 Oct 2015 21:18:54
Glen oozes class? Lol.

3.) 17 Oct 2015 21:57:05
He lost the plot a wee bit did glen, was it him that said all disabled people where sinners in a previous life, listening to the voices in his head too much I'd say.

4.) 17 Oct 2015 22:10:05
Glen Hoddle knows his stuff.

5.) 17 Oct 2015 22:37:10
Maybe they should get Rodgers back Davey, so he can try and prove you were right all along about him. Don't get you lad, unwavering support for a complete fraud yet caution shown toward a genuine world class manager. None of us like to be wrong, but your best taking it on the chin and admit your worship of a false idol was misplaced and get on board the Jk train.

6.) 17 Oct 2015 22:41:39
Hahah glenn hoddle unbiased? What are you on mate?

7.) 17 Oct 2015 22:42:02
Yes glen knows his stuff mystic meg tells him.

8.) 17 Oct 2015 22:50:40
Didn't he say that Michael Owen was not a centre forward ? He really knows a lot !

9.) 17 Oct 2015 23:53:27
Michael Owen wasn't a centre forward, he was a central striker. Totally different thing. One relies on aggression, strength and physical dominance, the other on speed, ball skill and guile.

10.) 18 Oct 2015 00:19:37
Spot on, Waro! I know a couple of people on here who could do with at piece of advise.

11.) 18 Oct 2015 01:26:02
He said it himself, we must change from doubters to believers, not the other way round.
Personally I couldn't give a monkeys what pundits say. Cloughie had it right, they over analyse the game and spoil it for the rest of us. Waste of wage these pundits.

12.) 18 Oct 2015 01:44:08
I forget Hoddles exact comments today about a sweeper / keeper - something about in the future teams may play a keeper so there was 11 men on the ball. I bet Tony Pulis and Big Sam were licking their lips at the thought of 60 or 70 yard goals while the sweeper keeper is 40 yards out of his goal!

Being intelligent is just as much being knowledgeable as it is knowing when to keep quiet - not so easy being a commentator.

Hey ed Ya seem to be on rare form tonight , am half afraid to ask for fear of getting me arse kicked but do you think the squad will do better this season than last , I know you haven't a crystal ball but the lads signed this year seem to have the right attitude for a change

redeamo

{Ed002's Note - Somewhere between 3rd and 8th.}

1.) 15 Jul 2015 21:28:39
I agree and to get 3rd or 4th we will have to be extremely consistant with what we have, I still believe top 4 is possible but we really need to tighten up at the back and our strikers need to chip in with more than they did last season.

2.) 15 Jul 2015 22:18:24
Generous on 3rd ed . But would your prediction not be better based on a between 5-8? Do u genuinely think we could get into too 4 ?

{Ed002's Note - I have just answered the question. Hopeless.}

3.) 15 Jul 2015 23:00:08
Ed generally with you , you have a little sarcasm etc that could mean you actually think we could finish 7th and your prediction is right .

{Ed002's Note - I do actually know where Liverpool will finish next season as we have been working on the final table recently.

Sorry, this is the Conspiracy page?}

4.) 16 Jul 2015 00:29:39
Don't go down that road . The lesser minds will laugh at your response to my gullibility . Anyway away with ed2 . It's late!! It's 3min to 8 here

5.) 16 Jul 2015 03:52:41
I think we will get top 4 myself, ahead maybe of Arsenal to 3rd

6.) 16 Jul 2015 08:33:10
Best chance we have of top 4 at the moment is ahead of man city or less likely man u. arsenal and Chelsea are nailed on certainties (as much as clubs can be) and I just can't envisage any scenario where those two aren't in the top 3

02 Jan 2015 19:54:29
This will be the first time in many years we haven't had a player in the team to make a goal from nothing now that Stevie is leaving, in other years we had fowler, Owen, Rush, kenny, Aldo to name but a few, now we have nothing, slightly depressing to think that we have to rely on what we have in the team now, take a bow Brendan for not replacing Suarez when we had money in the kitty instead of wasting it on players we could have got by without.

redeamo

1.) Coutinho and Lallana? There's two already.

2.) Sturrdige
Sterling

Don't worry about it, perfectly relevant posts have 8 to 10 disagrees on them, I got a load for saying I was taking my young fella to a Reds match, just trolls, pay them no attention.

The stakes are getting too rich for me, I can't afford to gamble with such high rollers, my mars bar and fat Coke are poor offerings in such company.
