this one player who i do not mind liverpool getting in more debt to get. what a shame. The owners should deduct the airfare for this trip from Ian Arye's pay as mission is not accomplish.

{Ed001's Note - as I have said previously, I am told Ayre was set to go out to Florida anyway to meet with John Henry.}

Has it been 100% confirmed that Ayre went to Florida to strike a deal for Teixeria? Seems a long way to go unless your 99% sure you can get a deal done. Although he probably fancied a bit of winter sun.

Shame really Ed01. He is a fantastic player and it's been a habit on missing some top class players. What worries me even more, The club will then spend the same amount of money on Benteke and Lallana.
We never buy the actual player we wants. Instead buy an player and train them to suit your requirements which takes months and years.

Was never going to happen. We'll probably waste the money on Shane Long now. That's how it works.

Keep the money.

He probably wouldn't have settled and you can't judge a player playing in Russia, their standard is poor. Anyone watched his videos on the net? Look at the defending, look at the time and space he's afforded.
You don't get that in England, he might struggle to adapt.

{Ed001's Note - good job he plays in the Ukarine then!}

You know, we stopped calling it 'the' Ukraine 25 years ago Ed?

{Ed001's Note - obviously 'we' did not.}

Yes, exactly. Would have never settled, Ukrainian standards are really much lower than the EPL, and he would never have been a success. Look at Willian at Chelsea, Douglas Costa at Bayern Munich, and Mikhitaryan at Dortmund. They were his team mates in Shakhtar Donetsk's forward line a season or two ago. All complete failures!

{Ed001's Note - can someone please explain the hype about Willian? He has been a simply woeful Chelsea team's best player by playing marginally below average level for the Prem, yet somehow he has become regarded as the new Messi. He can't pass, shoot or cross, his movement is idiotic, constantly running into team mate's space when they have the ball and all he offers is hard work. He makes Kuyt look like Neymar at times. How has that suddenly become regarded as superstar material?}

The Guardian and Telegraph have already said that Ayre has come back from Florida, with negotiations ongoing. I refuse to believe that they'd end negotiations with such a low offer after well knowing that it wasn't going to be enough to interest Shakhtar.

But I agree with you Ed001! I don't rate him as highly as a Douglas Costa or an Alex Teixiera or even Mikhitaryan. In fact, I had been hoping that LFC had bid for Douglas Costa instead of Firmino because he can play the classical winger role which would have suited Benteke far better. But we live with what is done, and that's it. I was just making the point that not all players from so called "lower" leagues fail to make the step up.

He takes a great and flashy free kick so his highlight reel looks incredible. And most people don't regularly watch Chelsea so that's all they see.

{Ed001's Note - ah right.}
