United fan in peace here!

Just want to say as Gerrards career in the EPL comes to an end, what a pleasure and nightmare he was to watch especially against ourselves.

I wouldn't take him over scholes, just as I'm sure you wouldn't take scholes over Gerrard. Tinted specs and all that.

But I honestly cannot think of one performance more awe inspiring and heartfelt than the Istanbul final. He was tackling left, right and centre. Ran the pitch a thousand times over and single handedly inspired the club to go for the glory. That is one thing I think many football fans forget. It's unfortunate that he hasn't won the league, as much as I like saying it. I guess it does put a downer on his PL career. But to be fair to the lad he won a champions league pretty much by himself. Which is a feat not many players could ever boast.

Personally think you're going to be losing a lot of character and soul with him leaving and like we have seen with uniteds old guard leaving, it may take longer to steer through the void he will obviously leave.

It's a shame as you won't see footballers like him, giggs or scholes anymore. There is just simply no loyalty left in the game.

One of a kind, absolutely phenomenal player and I can say I only have the utmost respect for Stevie, loved his slip though! Sorry! Couldn't resist!

Good luck to him in LA.

If take Gerard over any player . Scholes could not tackle or play multiple positions at he's level . Sick of this rediculous comparison . Scholes wasn't even Utd best player when Keane was there . Nice message from u al the same . But I know scholars instead of Gerard we would be lesser side . And the opposite way around he would have improved Utd . Complete

Not comparing the two, completely different players but as a United fan as much as I'd of loved to have Gerrard I wouldn't have swapped scholes for him.
