Hi Eds and Red's still buzzing after yesterday. Anyway Ed001 if it is at all possible could you give a review on Karius only. He seems to be getting a lot of greef and not just in here. Like how do think he did for the goal's? Should he keep his place? I for one think he really need's a run of game's.

{Ed001's Note - he should have done better with the 1st, but that is all. He communicates much better with the defence than Migs and so there is more of an understanding there. He comes out for balls and generally wins them. Overally he would have been good if not for that first goal, which is a real minus point as his first job is to keep the ball out of the net.}

Agree with your assessment Ed001. The only minor criticism I will add is that Karius seems to just stand and watch quite often instead of trying to make a save every time. it’s almost as if he gives up too easily. Two examples from last night were Otamendis header off the bar and their third goal. I also remember him doing something similar in another match recently.
All said though, I still prefer that he is commanding and is much quicker to release the ball.

{Ed001's Note - neither of those he was going to get near, so why bother throwing yourself down and then you are unable to react if it does take a strange bounce back out or anything. A lot of keepers just throw themselves at it to look like they are doing something, rather than because it is the right thing to do. It is a risk as you are then not in a position to react if something happens, such as a rebound off the bar. I would prefer him to just be getting into a position to deal with anything rebounding personally, but I do agree he tends to just watch flatfooted.}

He needs a run of games to fairly judge him and we can probably put yesterday down to nerves.
I mean who wouldn't be nervouse your time to shine is against city with the same back 4 people have been moaning about all season and if you f**k up your back on the bench till mingo has a howler again i would be sh*tting myself if i was in his boots

Think karius in goal and lovren along side vvd should be settled till the summer try and get an understanding and some confidence in there maybe create a good partnership one can only hope.

I think it unfair the criticism that Karius got after the game from the pundits. They are so quick to jump all over him for that one mistake, yet not one pundit mentioned the city keepers mistake which lead to salah' goal. they spent a good few minutes talking about not being beat at the near post etc, but nothing on the bad clearance from the city keeper.

the problem with Karius is that he has only had a handful of starts and has already made 3 or 4 major mistakes leading to goals which is why the fans are on his back, he has showed hardly any promise and always leaves a question mark against his name whenever he comes in.
