Hello people, hope you are all well. I personally think the fact klopp is going to give Karius a good run of games it can only give the lad confidence and make him a better player. I honestly believe he won't be in the top 3 goalies in the world but I think the lad will become a top keeper given the chance.

The key is he has to stick with it now. The last thing we need is Klopp getting cold feet and re-instating Migs after a few weeks because the media and fans keep obsessing over Karius' hand position or an occasional mis-hit clearance.

We know Migs will never stop making mistakes because he's been at it for 4 years, so even if Karius has some shaky moments, the best thing we can do is allow him to play through them to see can he overcome them with a run in the team. Look at what a run in the team has done for Robertson. At least then we'll know for certain if he's capable of stepping up or not and whether we need a new goalie. No point in going into the summer knowing that Migs isn't good enough but still with a niggling doubt about whether Karius could step up if given the chance.


You may notice I didn't mention Danny Ward. I'd like to see more of the guy, but he's clearly not entering the equation for Klopp, so what's the point? It'd make as much sense to talk about Markovic as a replacement for Coutinho.

That’s exactly my point SR. I think the fact it seems klopp is going to stick with karius for the rest of the season is the only way he can really be judged and as you said it’s the only way he can improve or gain confidence.

It's got nothing to do with the fans or media, it's down to Karius. If he's good there'll be no problem, if he's not he may well get dropped again.

No problem with Klopp giving Karius a run of games but why oh friggin why does he have to announce his “number 1 for the rest of the season”.

Newsflash Jürgen : the world doesn’t need to know your teamsheet for the rest of the season! 😡.

Ron keague - I presume klopp is telling minoglet that is time to find a new club.

The fact he had kept ward would suggest this was the plan all along.

If this is not the case, then klopp really should not be telling the whole world who number one is.
