People say mane can't finish an admittedly he should have 10 more goals this season, but the guy has almost a 1 in 2 record overall an he is a winger but the most important thing is his work rate an defensive work down the left with Robertson is so important, we are very lucky too have him!

Mane is absolutely crucial to our team, and while he’s missed a few, he scores loads and has had some unbelievable finishes. I think some people are just spoiled. how many wingers score as many as he does?

If you look at Salah, he isn’t always that clinical, but between the two of them, they both create a huge number of chances per game through their movement, pace and hard work, which makes us incredibly difficult to stop for 90 minutes.

I would swap either for anyone.

{Ed0333's Note - Salah not clinical? Lol. Top scorer in his first season in the premiership and leads the scoring charts in his second season in the premiership I’d say that’s pretty clinical.

Agree with everything, but mane misses chances. yes he creates, defends and is a wonderful player and nothing to take away from the player but his shooting at times leaves a lot to be desired and even then he has 10 or so goals which speaks volumes about how much he is involved in our front three. He could have been sitting on 15-16 goals though if he could have managed to put all them in. Its all about continually improving and bettering yourself. Winger or RB or center mid if he is missing chances he should improve that bit also.
Its not a question of how many wingers have scored that many goals and what not. It is a question of scoring even more and being the best one can be. and its not like his scoring more goals will not do us a world of good. Mane can score more as we have seen by the chances he creates and therefore Mane should score more. Mane can do even better and Mane would think so too.

Fair point Ed, should have worded it better, what I meant was I’m not sure his finishing stats are so far off the other top players, just that he makes so many opportunities it’s ridiculous. He’s an unbelievable player the way he always manages to look dangerous against almost any opposition.

And of course I meant I wouldn’t swap either for anyone.

{Ed0333's Note - oh I see mate you think he should score more with the chances he creates for himself? I see what you mean now ironically last season he could have scored even more as he missed some real sitters.

I’m not sure if stats would back me up, but I get the sense it’s not his clinical finishing that makes him so special (although it’s clearly good otherwise he wouldn’t be where he is now) but more his close control, positioning and movement. he always seems to be in and around almost every chance we create.

You're on fire today, Ron. Totally agree. Mane is special, plain and simple. He is a wide forward who scored 20 goals last season and is on 9 in the PL already this season after he got 10 all of last season. Hence, he is on course to best that return this season BUT I guess "he still can't finish". Frankly, I am not fussed that much about how much he is not scoring even tho he needs to improve.

I try judge a player on more than the freaking obvious and on that front, Mane is a boss. he is the main reason why Robbo is as good as he is cos he covers for him so much to the point that you will find Mane inside his own box clearing a dangerous ball or blocking a shot at goal. These are the things a lot of people don't see cos they are too busy for checking for goals and assists. Like I said, the bl***ing obvious. He terrorized Real Madrid in the CL and is a nightmare for oppo. defenders which is why they double up on him as much as they do Salah. Boss player, IMO.
