Thanks ED001, do you think Rafa leaving shows that they are nearing their takeover? Ashley is many things but not daft and Newcastle are definitely a better proposition for a buyer with him than they are without.
My only explanation for allowing it is the new buyers want to bring in their own man. Or is this just another case of Ashley showing he doesn't give a hoot about the club?

I take back my comment then, he is daft!

I get the argument of not wanting to spend money on something you want to sell, but if you don't invest he won't get what he wants for the club.

Do you think the takeover will happen ed or just another case of him feeding the fanbase with false promises?

{Ed001's Note - I have to be honest I am not sure about this takeover. I had just assumed it was him doing it to calm down the protests, but it has moved a long way down the road and he would be making a huge mistake to pull out now if he did not have a legitimate reason to do so.}

Crazy stuff at newcastle, what the f is going on there? Got a lot of time for toon. If the club does get taken over then surely benitez would be the PERFECT manager for them. If ashley doesn't sell this summer, then utd (trying to single handedly start a new trend amongst us lfc fans. We call newcastle "utd" and man utd. Well "man utd" just to undermine "the biggest club on the planet" europa league sure is a sign of being the worlds biggest club! ) are in real trouble imo. They had an awful squad season before last, rafa worked some magic and got some brilliant bargains, that keeper they signed was very impressive. Without rafa utd are going down imho. Sadly.

My heart goes put to those amazing fans, second only to ours. I hope they get what they want. Ashley will spend all summer trying to stitch together the whole club, 14 hours a day in a small dark room. Kinda like his employees.
