Lovely picture Ed!
Just last night my daughter decided she wanted Chip shop sausage and chips for tea. Who am I to turn that down. So we all sat down in a new pla (i) ce by us.
I had cod and chips with mushy peas and curry sauce, whilst my wife has vegan fish made from banana blossom. Though a bit reluctant, I tried it.
It’s something I recommend, as it was delicious.

{Ed001's Note - I have no words.}

Ok I give up. What’s the link between fish n chips to the day’s stories?

{Ed001's Note - ah well it is a link to a previous story about Ian Holloway taking the job at Grimsby after being wooed over a fish supper.}

I live in Grimsby and vegan fish is something I have never heard of, but i don't get why a vegan or anybody would want to eat pretend fish.

{Ed025's Note - its all these do-gooders grino who eat tofu and quorn to save the planet, these are the same hypocrites who fly all over the world and drive 2.0 litre gas guzzling cars and then get a cob on if someone eats a hamburger, they also emit more methane than any other species...have you ever smelt a vegitarian fart?...terrible mate.. :)

Because some people like the taste of meat but perhaps don’t agree with the slaughter of animals?
I don’t understand why meat eaters seem so scared of vegans whilst being unable to grasp that people are allowed different thoughts to your own.
You don’t have to be a “do-Goode’s” to not want a cow to be ripped apart from its crying mother and bolted in the head to feed your carnivorous stomach.
Very small minded.
Much love,
A meat eater.

And have you noticed, vegans are always telling people they're vegan.

I can understand it in principle but as ed025 says, people enjoy buying useless stuff that they're convinced they can't live without. Stuff that is made in China, shipped halfway round the world in big tankers. Driven over continents and countries in big trucks.

I'm sure there are vegans who are more vigilant when it comes to their carbon footprint. And some of that stuff is pretty nice.

{Ed025's Note - im all for carbon footprints robbie, i just dont like peoples individual life choices rammed down my throat mate, we have incisors for a reason...to eat meat, and i have never read anything in the bible about vegan fish at the last supper.. :)

Perhaps not everyone does it for the “carbon footprint”?
Perhaps they don’t like the way meat ends up in n our table, or maybe they just don’t like the taste.
I see just as many meat eaters go at vegans as the other way round.
After all, who started the this debate about belittling vegans? A meat eater or a vegan?
I simply mentioned one thing and others started to get offended.
I’ll leave you all to chow on some leather and basque in your testosterone, I have a lovely piece of ham in the oven that I’m going to make some dauphinois potatoes and parsley sauce with. I shall wash it down with an old fashion or 2.
Tomorrow, I may make a little vegan curry, because free choice without the need to criticise, is a wonderful thing.
Chin chin.

{Ed001's Note - stop it mate, you are making me hungry!}

I also have pancakes for afters as I missed out on Tuesday.
Sugar and lemon. Some say boring (my daughter mainly as she likes strawberry jam and hundreds and thousands) but I like it.

ed025 like all these vegans going on about carbon footprints and eat avocados and all the other veg coming from places like Mexico and all over the world that's got to have a bigger footprint than my local markets beef that is all from local farms.

{Ed025's Note - exactly grino, and the last thing we need is herds of nut cutlets roaming over the countryside mate.. :)

I don't get why vegans need to unload on meat eaters. My wife's vegan and I'm vego, but that's our business. We made the choice only in the last year, based on ethical reasons primarily (watch dominion on youtube), the health and environmental implications were secondary. We don't buy veg that's travelled a great distance, adjust our cooking around what's seasonal and local, and only have fake meats as an occasional convenience when at a bbq or something.
I also don't get why there is such an anti-vegan sentiment. People have have a go at a fast food place that offers a vegan burger. Why? Nobody is making you eat it or taking animal meat off the menu.
Everyone just needs to live and eat according to their own ethical and moral choices and not worry too much about what others are doing. That said, I live In Aus and water is a real issue. It takes 5000 litres of water to make a big mac. Yes, 5000.
