Ed I would like your opinion on something. Recently I've read a lot about the system we play and particularly the role bobby plays. Also that brewster doesn't fit into this system. Bobby creates the space for mo and mane but watching yesterday's game leeds played so open the space was already there. So in games like this surley brewster could play? Against teams like Burnley or Palace Bobby is so important but like yesterday's game it would be good to have a different option.

{Ed001's Note - and so you want Brewster to be using that space rather than Mane and Salah then?}

No I'm saying bobby wasn't the one creating space. The way leeds played there was so much space that even bobby was running in behind.

DW-YNWA, and how do you think those gaps opened in the Leeds setup without the movement and link up play of the front three which created space, a front three that includes you guessed it, Bobbie? Not sure what you are on about here, bro?

Red meister sorry for having a different opinion than you. I'm just saying that bobby wasn't the one creating space by dropping deep like he usually does. He was often the player highest up the pitch and getting on the end of chances imo. I only asked because bobby can't play every minute of ever game so I wondered if brewster could be used in games that are more open?

Am i guessing Brewster isn't a very intelligent player then? He can't learn the role, , Firmino has been off the boil for ages so we need someone to pressure him, i think he needs some bench time to realize he has competition to be in the team, also Thiago would fit in comfortably, i don't get where the idea he can't press is coming from, he does for Spain and Bayern, are we saying an Alonso wouldn't fit in this team too, they have similar passing/ player ability and from our games since lockdown we have lacked massively someone of that ability in midfield. I think it was a mistake we didn't get Werner and it will be just as big a mistake not to get Thiago (obviously i know we can't afford them at present without the shifting around)

You have a point regarding Bobby. But this system is built for him and around him. so replacing him is a mammoth task unless we change the dynamics of how we play. Klopp sold Ings who Imo is a tailor-made 20 goals per season striker for any team to keep the system intact.
The idea scenario is when Bobby needs a benching then one of Salah / Mane goes up top and we actually sign a WINGER to play across the front three.
Thiago has no relevance to bobby as people make out to be here. him coming into midfield actually restricts Bobby's involvement in the game.

I think Bobby might need to convert into a midfielder, his goals record is poor, if we had a natural finisher we would be scoring more, my point with Brewster is its not difficult to learn to come a little deeper to create space, we have tweaked tactics each season under Klopp and the midfield need to step up this season for me, Wijnaldum doesn't score or assist enough, he missed 2 good chances, the full backs will get targeted this year, Trent was poor v Leeds so we need someone or 2 to bring more from the centre.

DW-YNWA, you are free to post whatever you like and no one is stopping you. All I did was ask you a question so no need to be all passive aggressive, mate.

In response to your point, Bobbie's job is to facilitate Salah and Mane by creating space for them to run into and press from the front to help us win the ball back high up the pitch. That does not restrict him from getting on the end of things if the occasion presents itself. He did both vs Leeds if you watch closely BUT things just did not come off for him due to rustiness or lack of confidence which leads to poor decision making, IMO.

Now Brewster is a diff. type of forward who I don't think can fulfill that role for us right now. This system was built for and around Bobbie and it has worked for 3/ 4 years now. Can Brewster learn the role? I don't know and we will have to see what happens if he will even be here to do any of that to begin with.

Red meister you keep posting under people's post's trying to belittle them. Saying things like "if you watch closely" what makes you think I didn't watch closely just because we have a difference of opinion. Everyone sees thing differently.
