Exciting to get young Diaz in and represents the 2nd part of the attacking rebuild after Jota arrived last season .

The 1st big departure is going to be Divock, who has created legendary status at the club and now needs to find regular football to kick in for the rest of his career, next will be Taki who has done the job asked considering the price paid and ideally I would keep if happy to remain, but the next departure is going to be the big one, Sadio or Bobby leaving in the summer? ? ?

Bobby for me who for sure will get a helluva send off from the home crowd if announced before season end, love him to bits ❤️❤️.

I’m really excited about Diaz who looks like he ticks all the Klopp boxes including his defensive covering according to Sky. And all for a very very good price. I still worry about the midfield for the rest of the season but maybe if Diaz is brilliant at pressing and defensive duties we won’t be as open as a team and if sorts itself out. Still think we need 1-2 strong, quick midfielders to really be set to have a big chance to win the major trophies but I am a never pleased greedy knob and this at least shows we do have some transfer money.

Nothing against Origi but I think if we created a list of LFC legends and looked at each of their Resume I think Origi would find himself extremely lucky to be in there.

Yes he's scored some late goals and he scored 2 against Barca. But so did Wiji and to win the CL that season we played more than 1 game.

I just find it strange how we’re so happy to ship Mane out the door as he’s dropped form (but is still scoring and contributing) and Origi gets praised as a great despite him seeming to be happy to play the equivalent of 9 games a season.

Nothing against Origi but for me he’s been a very good squad player over the years but the Barcelona game just papers over the cracks of what could and should have been so much more. The lads been here almost 8 years.

100% JK, Gini for instance is much more deserving of legendary status than Origi! i like Divock but not good enough. More of a cult hero than a legend.

{Ed002's Note - The Wijnaldum stand has a ring to it.}

Origi is still the best finisher in the current team. If you get a chance in the box, I will put my money on origi, than our front 4.

{Ed025's Note - better than mo?..lay off the drugs mate..

Legends don't need to be the first name on the team sheet, hell they don't even need to play that often, it's about memorable moments and the joy that they brought us all. Years from now I'll remember the Barcelona game and the final and by proxy I'll remember big Div. Diaz (simply as an example) might be great, but if he doesn't create the big memories that live on, he'll be another good player that played for Liverpool, but not a legend in my book.

Ed0025 I agree with Jerrin.

I’ve heard Lewandowski and Haaland both have Divock posters on their bedroom walls.

{Ed025's Note - you are entitled to your opinion of course JK, but sharing a crack pipe with jerrin is not recommended mate.. :)

Ed0025 clearly the sarcasm in my comment sailed right over your head.

Rugby totally get what you’re saying mate but aren’t those more legendary moments that legendary players. Gini also scored 2 that night. Do you class him as a legend also mate.

David Fairclough was only a bit part player, but he’s a bonafide legend. Origi is a cult hero and he scored the goals that not only got us to the final, but scored the winning goal in a champions league final. Something Saint Harry Kane hasn’t and will never do. On top of that he put his own money into the local community at the Uni to pay for a scholarship. Genuinely decent fella and played a part in the biggest parts of our history. Always deserves some respect as far as I’m concerned.

Everyone is entitled to their personal opinion, I think cult hero as opposed to legend, for me legend is thrown around to easily.
As for scoring the winning goal in the Champions League Final, wasn't it 2 - 0? so it can't be the winning goal surely.

I think we should have a statue of Origi outside of the ground.
On second thoughts, have it on the pitch because it'd put more effort in than Big Div.

{Ed0666's Note - was you saying that when he won us the semi final against Barca and scored the 2nd goal in the champions league final? I really don’t get the hate for Divvy, if he retired tomorrow he’d have so much to be proud of.

To be fair, David Fairclough scored a brave few goals. He was THE supersub. To compare Origi to him is a bit of a stretch.

I agree with JK23, legendary moments more so than legendary player certainly.

Young? He's 25 lol speaking like he's a kid. Well get 3 years out of him and our fans will be calling for him to be replaced because he's getting old just like they are doing now lol.

Ed0666 I have said this since we won the champions league. Origi is nowhere near good enough for us to be challenging city. I was at Anfield for the Barcelona game the best game I have ever been to and I thank Origi for his massive part in that, But he should have been sold that summer and by all reports Origi is an absolutely wonderful person so I think that season he had for us the derby winner the semi final goals and the final goal would have been the best time for him the leave.
But I don’t care what anybody says about big Origi
He will be a icon of are club and I know most fans love him and he loves the club.
And after saying that when he has played this season I think it’s the best form he has shown it’s a shame he got injured for January as I think he would have played and I think would have been very good.
I do think he playing out wide most of the time he has played has not helped him.

{Ed0666's Note - yes exactly find me a player that has won the European cup, the premiership, will play out of position, sit on the bench most of the season and give his all when called upon. No ego and no attitude.

Hate, Ed0666?
It was a joke on the banter page. I don't think we should have a statue of Origi inside or outside the ground and I don't know where you see the hate. Div's an average player and it was more of a joke about statues and the overuse of the terms legend and cult hero.
I celebrated his goals against Spurs and Barcelona wildly but he certainly didn't win us anything on his own.
He's a decent squad player and I'm sure he could take a joke about him running less than Mane, Salah or Firmino. Not many do run as much as they do; or used to in Firmino's case.
I don't hate anyone, Ed. Not even Thatcher.
Well, maybe just Thatcher.

{Ed0666's Note - ok mate
