I would happily let Stevie G spend the night with my wife no problem at all. A living legend and a typical scouser with a never say die attitude. Any hate he gets is from low life talentless people, and rolls off his back like water off a duck. He will be back and better than ever. I know of no manager that could get the likes of Mings, Konsa, Bailey, Coutinho, Luiz or even Watkins to ever be any good at football. He did not sink Villa the embarrassing performances of these players is what has done it.

But isn't it up to the manager to get the best out of those players? I'm not saying that he had a lot to work with, but their team had no identity. I had no idea what they were trying to do week in and week out. Now, the real question, would you have your wife shower after Stevie had his time with her before you slept with her again?

Losing Beale from his coaching staff probably didn't help.

Also, I guess his close relationship with Purslow probably gave him too much say in the transfer market, which is never great for a young manager.

Lastly, he was unlucky with Diego Carlos' injury. Mings is like Dejan Lovren on speed.

Stevie G is not a good manager, never was never will be and hopefully never takes over at LFC.

Well said Andy. Tok many on here living in the past. Good players don't automatically mean Good managers. No better than Gary Neville in the dug out.

Spot on Andy. Gerrard should never get anywhere near the job. If it wasn’t for his Liverpool connections, he wouldn’t be in the top 25 interviewed.

Lot of people confusing separating Gerrard the player from Gerrard the manager as hate on here. Its not. Its taking off the red tinted glasses and looking at what he's done in the job. Most damning thing is apart from Bednarak (who was hooked at halftime last night) the other 10 were Dean Smith signings.

Loved stevie as a player, but we have had our olè moment, when we had souness replace the king as manager. Great players but set back the success of the club on the field.

Im not confused, wonder though will Xabi get the stevie me-esque posts from people who seem delighted he was sacked if he suffers another few big defeats with Leverkusen and gets the boot. it'll be all "keep the chin up Xabi lad".

Why do you think people supposedly like Xabi better than Stevie then Jude?

If that kind of thing is your bag scouse, it’s your bag. Doesn’t necessarily make you a bad person.

{Ed014's Note - just extremely generous I’d say!

Nobody is confusing anything regarding Steven Gerrard. What is confusing is your apparent glee that he failed at Aston Villa, it is bizarre.

More importantly Scouse mate is would your wife be agreeable to Stevie hopping into the scratcher beside her?

Why is it bizarre Thunderbird? I want every manager of every other club that compete with Liverpool to fail. Are you even a "real" fan if you don't?

I'd let Gerrard spend the night with my Missus, too, but he's having a bad enough time as it is.
