Given Toney isn’t going to play for the rest of the season and probably beyond, i think it would be wise to rule that one out.

Ivan wants to know what odds are you offering NRed?

Really curious though, why would your dream transfer window have Jones leaving? I can understand the other three though.

I like jones but just my opinion that Elliot and Fabio and doak are going to reach a higher level. and we would probably get a decent amount on a transfer for jones at present… also if we add players to strengthen the squad then people have to make way…. Like I said tho it’s only my opinion ?.

Doak hasn't even played a full game of senior football. How do you know he'll reach a higher level than Jones? Jones is a player who has proven himself to be, at he very least, comfortable in the midfield of one of the worlds top teams. He has some rough edges but he is far more competent than most people give him credit for, all he really needs to do is be bolder and faster on the ball to really impose himself on games. He has everything else.

Doak is just as likely to end up in League 2 in five years time as he is to end up playing for Liverpool; have we learned nothing from the past? Elliot and Fabio are both younger and more raw than Jones, mainly playing further forward than him anyway. They are equally as susceptible to drift out of games and watch the match pass them by, and they aren't that much older.

Jones feels like he is bearing the brunt of the typically reactionary snowballing discourse featured on social media. He might not end up being good enough in the long run, I don't know, but to group him in with Ox and Keita is shameful.

Excuse my cynicism but If there’s any truth in the rumour that there’s only going to be a partial take over and it’s going to be to people “aligned” to the FSG philosophy, then I’m not holding my breathe on a big January spending spree, unless we’re selling someone (given that we operate a sell to buy policy, that would be the only way we’d fund a transfer) .

The Partial sale to someone who is “aligned to their philosophy” implies it’ll be someone dreadful from the states like Pagliuca or HBSE (as they’re apparently the only interested parties from the states), and them taking a bite of the club is not good news as means more of the same hand to mouth existence or worse, given their records with their teams in the states is absolutely appalling.

What are the odds of the club presenting Keita and Arthur coming back from injury as if they’re like new signings? Before they get injured again the day after transfer window deadline day, Obv.

VVV you’ve spent the past month moaning about vulture venture capitalists and nation states possibly buying the club, and now you’re having a pop at partial investment because they won’t provide enough funds lol.

Dont think der'll be a huge spend in Jan no matter who owns the club. Hopefully we can get a midfielder in at a reasonable price but the big bucks will be put aside for Bellingham in the summer.

How can the club have a huge spend in January if there's nobody available of the quality we need?
It doesn't matter if there's a billion quid burning a hole in the club's pockets, they ain't going to just stockpile midfielders to keep fans happy.

Klopp refuses to spend Fsgs war chest every window unless it’s on the right player. Out of millions of footballers over the world the right player has yet to be born to tick those boxes.

Hopefully Milner can play into his 60’s to allow such player to come of age.

People were saying Jones is better than Foden. and this was while Foden was banging in double digits goals/ assists lol

I love Jones and we should stick with him. He's had a bad run with injuries, but importantly we can't just keep flicking off our own players looking for the next shiny thing.

2 things:

Jones was a winger through the age groups. He’s been used as a midfielder in the senior team as we have ad winger options, and 2 established first team choices in Mane and Salah who rarely got injured. Most people agree that one of his best games for us recently was when he covered Diaz’s position. He seems to suffer from being TOO versatile and therefore gets judged agains the best in his secondary and tertiary positions. Give the lad a break.

Secondly, Bellingham will not qualify as HG given the amount of time he will have spent in Germany between the ages of 16-21 (and therefore he won’t have spent enough time playing in England) .

To be fair JK, there isn’t a war chest it’s £25m plus whatever is raised in sales. That’s why we’re falling behind.

As for the ownership, you can virtually guarantee that whatever FSG receives from an “investor” it’ll be plowed back into FSG to enable them to buy an NFL or NBA franchise, that’s their goal and we’re the collateral to enable it. Partial sale isn’t going to mean anything positive. Just more of the same BS.

If we don’t invest in a quality midfielder in January then forget about Bellingham as he won’t be joining a team outside the champions league. Jude, your boy Nkunku is as good as a Chelsea player, and with our form, lack of quality in midfield and the fact we don’t look like we’re good enough to qualify for the Champions League then you’ll be needing to change your name as neither Bellingham or Nkunku will be plying their trade at Anfield.
