Edd001 on thuram. Yes i think for us under klopp, if our press gets back to when we were at our best and quick turnover he'll be a superstar for us. I don't know his background concerning attitude but he sticks out by a mile for me that would shine for us. I'm very confident if we signed him we'd be saying what a player. he's perfect for us. I'll continue to hope we go and get him.

{Ed001's Note - shame he wants to go elsewhere then really.}

Looks to me like we’ll end up with Kalvin Phillips on loan in order to back up Bajcetic.

There are so many DMs outside the list we have been fed by the media. LfC just need to be a bit less obvious with their choices and less obtuse in their negotiations. I am being very polite when I say obtuse, because what I really mean is dumb clucks.

It feels like we're back to where we were at the start of Klopp's tenure, prior to the massive PL TV deal. We were missing out on players because we couldn't offer the salaries that our rivals were offering.

That TV deal allowed us to compete on salaries and make LFC a "destination club", as Klopp put it.

It seems that we're now at a similar juncture and that the only option for us is new investment/ ownership coming in.

Frustratingly, it didn't have to be this way as we have voluntarily completely halted the essential player churn needed to run a top football club by augmenting income through sales. That seems to have come about by internal dysfunction on recruitment strategy.

Only way out now is concluding on investment/ sale and developing a new strategy.

So we can afford transfers but not wages now?
I thought we needed to be more like Brighton. Our wage bill is bigger than Brighton's.

Ah there it is. I've been waiting for it since morning. The first "FSG out" call of the day. ?.

Where we are now is because we didn’t tee up a locked in defensive midfielder before agreeing to let Hendo and Fabinho go, and now we’ve lost out in a bidding war to Chelsea who had the players already committed to joining them months ago….

I’d have been perfectly happy if we’d just kept Hendo and Fabinho rather than be left scrambling, and that’s nothing to do with ownership, it’s just poorly done by the transfer team. Hopefully they can pull a rabbit out the hat.
