Edd001 any united players or player you'd put into our Liverpool side? ?.

{Ed001's Note - no, the only player I would consider from them would be Rashford. He has the right off field attitude to fit in, but I wouldn't pick him over Diaz or Gakpo on the left, which is his best position.}

Rashford goes in for me. Maybe Casemiro, too, because I like a holding midfielder and we are not using a specialist one at the moment.

{Ed001's Note - Casemiro is not a good player though. Ridiculously overrated and has the fitness of Kalvin Phillips.}

I'd take Martinez. Good squad option. Versatile.

Never understood the love in for casemiro. If he was that good he would still be at madrid.

Casemiro is getting praise in England because he's scoring far more than he did in Madrid. Doesn't mean he's playing far better, just more onus on him to score cuz his team are dross!

Martinez is too short and suffers a serious napoleon complex.

I don't really rate Casemiro but he's better than the holding midfielder that we have. Or don't have.

Do you not rate Odegaard, max?

Never rashford over diaz though.

Casemiro's apparent quality is just a sign of how toxic the Man U dressing room is. One fella with a bit of mentality about him comes along and is practically their best player.

He's not bad, but £60m was a massive outlay for him at this stage in his career.

Signs that the rot there is starting to claim him though.

Rashford would do well under klopp.

Casemiro, great player, circa 300+ games for Madrid and multiple trophy winner, inc 5 CL titles.
You don’t stay at that club that long and win all those trophies without being top notch and a consistent starter.
He just in a crap team ?.

I'd play Casemiro before Endo or MacAllister in front of the back four and I'd have Rashford before Diaz, Gakpo or Jota on the left.

I thin, Amrabat will prove to be a good signing. Big physical presence at 6 and good on the ball. We could use someone like that to free up Macca. Feel for him we haven't been able to see what he's capable of given a run of games at 8/ 10.

Rashford would be on our bench. No way does he get in the team before Diaz.

@Victor, Napoleon was about 5ft 6 or 7 ins which was above the average height (in France) at the time which was @ 5ft 4 in’s. The myth that he was small came from a visual gag in a British broadsheet at the time of the Napoleonic Wars. A digression from United’s woeful squad, but true nonetheless.

Hi Ed001. I agree about Rashford being the only player we would want from Utd.

Just a question, a lot of the Utd fans over on their page keep saying that he is lazy, doesn't track back, sulks when he doesn't have the ball, etc. Basically just complaining about his attitude on the pitch. Do you see this as part of his game though?

I honeslty have not watched him much but each time I do, he is nothing like what they described him to be so I am slightly confused. Hence would like your opinion on this as well if I am missing something about him.

{Ed001's Note - I am with you. He is just another scapegoat for whiny fans.}

I’m surprised you said Rashford Ed I think he’s woeful. There’s talent there but he only chooses to use it once in a blue moon (City reference intended) .

He had that purple patch last season but other than that he’s done nothing for years and people talk about him as if he’s this world class player that is undroppable from Utd and England. It baffles me it really does.

{Ed001's Note - I am surprised you see it that way. If you think that is all he has done in years then I have no idea what you are watching. What baffles me is anyone that thinks he is woeful. And even more baffling is someone that actually thinks he only chooses to use it once in a blue moon.}

Rashfords last seven seasons have shown him play circa 30+ PL games each season, only twice has he got close to 20 goals (17 on each occasion) .
They are far from great figures for a forward. I guess you could argue that he’s playing for a crap United team but then again there are other players at other clubs that still manage decent numbers more regularly (Kane for instance)

Ed1 IMO Rashford good when things are going well but his biggest problem is, like Fernandes, when they’re not winning they lack fight and go missing.

Casemiro or this version of Casemiro is not good enuff to play in a high tempo Klopp system. I'll take Endo and Macca over him currently cos they fit the system Klopp plays. Him having been this or that at Madrid in the past means sweet nothing to me as that was all in the past. He played at Anfield vs a high tempo Klopp team and drowned massively. His pedigree at Madrid didn't matter then, and does not matter now. I'll passt, thank you very much.

The guy is being roasted by many Utd fans for being too slow and not being able to keep up. Nope, not for me. Rashford and basta. Just my take.

Regarding Rashford I think he is class and if ETH played him in the right position he would show everyone how good he really is.

Aren’t we looking for a centre half (he asked trying not to burst out laughing) ?

Oli, are you not basing your opinions on Endo and MacAllister on what they did at their previous clubs? They've done very little for Liverpool, so far.

Rashford? If ever there was a highlights reel player it’s him! He played well for about 3 months of last season and before that was woeful for 3 years and has since gone back to that level. He’s so frustrating physically so impressive and powerful with his running and he has the technique too but there’s rarely end product and he struts about the pitch doing nothing defensively or in a pressing kind of way. Klopp would like his politics and nothing more he’s a waste of huge natural resources which should make him the player he occasionally promises to be. He should be everything Sadio Mane made himself but the work ethic isn’t there.

I like odegard Rigsby, i assume real went patient wnough with him and expected a wonder boy instantly. At least the few loan clubs ans arsenal he's been able to work in his talent more. I'm sure ed1 has frequently pointed out that some talents at a young age look amazing but never see thier full potential as they think they've made it, its the ones who work hard who go far. So I think odegard has had to realise this.

{Ed001's Note - he wasn't putting in the effort at Madrid, that is why they canned him. And like so many others, it was the getting canned that woke him up and made him realise he needed to work harder. I still don't think he is all that though, he is a flat track bully who only turns up when Arsenal are in control of the game.}

I think Odegaard has blossomed into the player he was thought to be at 16, initially I thought he would struggle to adapt to the prem but like with many players, the increased intensity seems to bring the best out of him.
While I agree, Rashford is a good footballer, I wouldn't want a Utd player in this or any Liverpool team.

Hello Ed001, been a very long time, how are you?

I've been on the site, just haven't been posting as much. As you know, I absolutely love reading your posts, and your knowledge is unbelievable but on Rashford, I genuinely just don't think he's good enough. Been 7/ 8 seasons since he broke in the team and we're still waiting for him to truly blossom, consistently. Just seems to have an occasional purple patch and the rest is below par. He's half arsed, walks around, doesn't press, his attitude and arrogance is beyond belief, backs out of challenges too (like he did in the Fa cup final vs City.

Even yesterday against Palace he was killing our attack each time he got the ball, running into blind alleys and his decision making is as bad as ever. Mourinho and Rangnick were right, he just isn't good enough.

Would swap him for Luis Diaz in a heartbeat, now that's a proper player.

{Ed001's Note - like I said I wouldn't have him in our team either, but he is the best you have. The way he plays is the way he has been coached to play.}
