Again after the international break we're on at 12:30 on a Saturday morning! How on earth do they get away with this? Last time we played 12:30 on a Saturday after an international break we lost 5-0. Is it really rocket science to move that game to a Sunday afternoon? Let Swansea play Huddersfield Saturday morning and move Liverpool Man U to Sunday.

Jezza kyle

{Ed025's Note - ahh diddums, its the same for both teams jezza and its just another excuse ready for if things go tits up mate..

1.) 03 Oct 2017 18:01:05
Jezza has a fair point swansea and huddersfield will have less players away on international duty stop bein an ass ed25.

{Ed025's Note - no you stop thinking that liverpool should get preferential treatment because they were good 30 years ago you prat!..

2.) 03 Oct 2017 18:01:24
We always bloody lose when the temperature is between 11 and 13 degrees as well, just you watch it will be 12 degrees and we will lose, absolute joke. 😂.

{Ed025's Note - heaters are the future mikey..

3.) 03 Oct 2017 18:09:17
Im not thinkin of lfc both manutd and lfc have more players on int. Duty your the pratt seein what you want to see.

{Ed025's Note - im not the one complaining kloppcat, ok then give them 3 weeks off to charge their batteries, most of them wont play 90 mins on thursday and they are finely tuned athletes so whats your problem?

4.) 03 Oct 2017 18:20:35
Plus lfc v manutd is the one of biggest games of the year and should be the sunday 4pm game.

{Ed025's Note - i dont think thats your decision to make mate..

5.) 03 Oct 2017 19:58:41
Get a room you two.

6.) 03 Oct 2017 20:46:34
Assume it's also got something to do with not giving the attending fans a chance to get tanked up beforehand.

7.) 03 Oct 2017 21:15:55
I don't think he wants preferential treatment ed just to be treated the same as everyone else. There's no doubt it's a disadvantage to play early on the Saturday after an international break and we had it after the last International break so why make us do it again? So why put us at a disadvantage twice in a month when everyone else gets extra time to prepare? It's a valid point.
I can see why you don't care you'd have us playing on the Friday morning at 6am if you could but for us it doesn't seem fair.
Just because we are one of the biggest clubs in Europe and people want to see us play our games are moved to inconvenient times. But you just wouldn't understand that would you ;-)

{Ed025's Note - "were" one of the biggest seems more apt ings, because of the money sky are putting into the game they have the right to decide when clubs play, its a big game david at home to goliath and the target audience will be mainly asia, thats just the way it is im afraid mate..

8.) 03 Oct 2017 21:31:34
Ed25 you made a point which should have shut everybody up. They are finely tuned athletes. And on top of that paid millions per year for it.
Blaming the international break is literally an excuse because they are still doing their job, playing professional football. it’s not like the summer breaks when they play literally no football at all except maybe a kick around with their kids or w. e.
And it’s not just our players who are playing internationally either is it?

{Ed025's Note - your dead right phil, at their age i was paving by day, training twice a week and playing saturday and sunday, the only thing that bothered me was ear ache from my bird mate..

9.) 03 Oct 2017 21:35:04
The biggest game in the premier league between England's 2 most decorated clubs. It's a massive game as both teams are hugely supported worldwide so they are of course after the audience. I understand it but still don't think it's right that just because of our worldwide draw we get pushed from pillar to post. Could be worse though we could be a team no one wants to watch like you muppets!

{Ed025's Note - your right ings, but if we were on tv i would hate to think that "the peoples club" supporters would bawl their eyes out like 10 year old girls saying "why is it always us", "its not fair","boo hoo"..grow a set will ya mate..

10.) 03 Oct 2017 22:18:40
Time we stopped making excuses and doing the business on the pitch.

11.) 03 Oct 2017 22:11:50
Bitterness runs deep.

12.) 04 Oct 2017 01:01:44
An article says lfc players will travel @76k miles, utd 68k hudddersfield 28k (got a couple of auzzies in team) and swansea 8k. makes no sense havin lfc v utd the early kick off.

13.) 04 Oct 2017 01:22:20
No bitterness, just reality - why should the schedule be set to make it easier for any one club over another. no excuses, same for both teams, let's just get on with it and smash the mancs or we only have ourselves to blame.

14.) 03 Oct 2017 22:07:17
God ed025, surely you should know by now that the fixture makers and tv studios are against LFC becoming great again and the only reason we aren’t is every bodies fault except our own?!?! 😂.

{Ed025's Note - i completely forgot about that westwood..

15.) 04 Oct 2017 08:44:35
In fairness, Liverpool will be in the exact same boat as United. It would be much less fair if it was, for example, Liverpool/ United vs Huddersfield where a bunch of players would have played 36 hours ago for one side, but the other would have had 2 weeks off.

16.) 04 Oct 2017 09:43:09
Be Positive boys we haven't lost a game in October in 7 years. Mooreen will park the bus happy days, just deal with the next game but be positive!

17.) 04 Oct 2017 16:59:21
It’s the same for both teams. Facts are that if they win it will be down to our poor defending and lack of quality in midfield as always, not the time of kick off. And let’s face it, on form they’re likely to batter us whatever time the kick off is at the moment,

18.) 04 Oct 2017 18:22:15
It makes no difference as the only team we will be playing is the team that also kick off at 12:30.

Get a grip, it's the same for both sides.

{Ed025's Note - absolutely mate..

19.) 05 Oct 2017 00:31:26
As an Aussie fan I'm pretty happy with the 12:30 kick off. Makes it a watchable time here.

20.) 06 Oct 2017 01:22:00
What are the busses like that time of the morning?

02 Jun 2017 16:26:57
John ruddy for the Alex manninger role?

Jezza kyle

1.) 02 Jun 2017 16:36:22
I think Grabara will take it.

2.) 02 Jun 2017 16:42:58
Although he's from the area I can't see him wanting to sit on the bench plus Suarez destroyed his confidence.

3.) 02 Jun 2017 16:55:55
wasn't ruddy a former bitternose?

4.) 02 Jun 2017 17:30:39
Shay Given.

5.) 02 Jun 2017 18:23:20
Ed002. Safe pair of hands.

6.) 02 Jun 2017 17:31:05
If Manninger was on 5.5k can't they just offer VVD that and replace Manninger with an academy lad, 3rd choice GK just seem an absolute waste of resources.

31 Oct 2016 23:31:03
Ojo has said today he's back running.

Jezza kyle

1.) 01 Nov 2016 03:08:40
Hope he's back to form soon, he strikes me as another potential Mane in the making. blessed with pace and dribbling ability, yet can also pass and score goals.

2.) 01 Nov 2016 10:14:23
Can't wait to see this lad, i'm not going to get excited about this news, not yet, ED1 said he may be back by the end of the season so I'm going to go on that, any earlier is a bonus! Would love to see him ready in January for when Mane is away but I can't see it, sounds a little too early.

13 Mar 2016 16:43:51
Nordtfelt has announced he's leaving BMG and moving to England. A month or so back he was spotted at melwood (mentioned on here) can an ed say if it's us or if not who it is please as he clearly has something arranged.

Jezza kyle

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool showed interest in Borussia Monchengladbach’s Nordtveit back in January 2012. It was suggested in Germany in 2012 that Arsenal might look to buy the player back at one time, that the interest of Sunderland would lead to an offer. However, he is out of contract at the end of the season and the only sides who have shown a real interest so far are Leicester, West Ham and Borussia Dortmund - but unlike non Bundesliga sides, Dortmund cannot approach him at this time. Having ended interest in another player, Arsenal has spoken with his agent over a return but have taken it no further just now. West Brom, Spurs, Schalke and Southampton have watched him but my understanding is that none have requested to speak to the player. Monchengladbach were keen on a new deal with him they accept they are likely defeated. Expect him to move to England and I supect West Ham will win out unless Spurs or Arsenal put something attractive on the table. I have explained on many previous occasions that any suggested interest from Liverpool right now seems to me to be wide of the mark - 2012 yes, but not now. He certainly won't have been hanging out at Melwood.}

1.) 13 Mar 2016 17:17:26
Thankyou 002 everything I wanted to know right there. As usual with my 2+2 I got 5.

Ed1 is guti on your list? Top player.

Jezza kyle

{Ed001's Note - he is now, good shout Jezza.}

1.) 27 Nov 2017 11:19:51
I used to love watching him play such a magician.

2.) 27 Nov 2017 18:54:42
He showed that lacking pace means absolutely nothing if you have a brilliant footballing brain. One of the best left foots in the past 20 years. Brilliant player.

14 Oct 2017 15:29:54
Is it just me or was the pitch really slow today? Maybe it was us not moving the ball quick enough but I thought the ball was rolling slow and stayed in play a lot of times when it looked sure to run out of play.

Jezza kyle

1.) 14 Oct 2017 16:03:52
I think Jt was intentional how many times have we been spent after the first half and a team score last minute against us? I think Juergen was smart about it but AOC cameo was positive.

2.) 14 Oct 2017 17:05:16
If anything AOC and Sturridge should have been on earlier for Firmino and Can/ Wijnaldum. We should have gambled abit more for me.

3.) 14 Oct 2017 18:06:56
Overall I’ll take that. Decent performances from everyone in the pitch, especially midfield with Hendo, Gini and Can doing a good job of running the show.

In the bigger context a loss would have been tough on the confidence, but a point against Man Utd and a clean sheet with some decent defending is something to take forward and hopefully the goals start going in again soon.

Shocked at just how unadventurous Mourinho was. surely they had a bit more guts to give it a try than that?

{Ed025's Note - the midfield were awful for me SG continually passing sideways and backward, the movement was not quick enough which made it easy for united to stifle most of the attacks mate..

4.) 14 Oct 2017 19:07:49
1 win in 8. Yeah great result that today.

5.) 14 Oct 2017 19:58:16
United was playing a team that have? all over our defence yet only have 6 touches in our box. Typical Jose tactics flat track bully. How many times this season have they waited for opposing teams to chase the game and gamble before letting his horses run free. Klopp changed the right 3 for 3 in my opinion.

{Ed025's Note - not for me im afraid tooshy, you took your best 2 players off who could have got you the win for me mate..

6.) 14 Oct 2017 20:06:35
I agree with you ed. i've been saying it for weeks hendo has got 2 gears backwards and sideways and he's always trying to play 60yrd glory balls as for CAN don't think he wants to be there and wijnaldum has lost form yet the same 3 get picked virtually every week baffling. david silva of city has scored more premiership goals than our 3 CM put together ours 1 goal just puts more pressure on front 3.

{Ed025's Note - they were poor today steve..

7.) 14 Oct 2017 22:08:41
I don’t know what people see in Wijnaldum and Henderson! Together they have scored a whooping 1 goal between them and I don’t expect them to score more than 5 in between for the whole season! So much quality there! Henderson would go back to Sunderland and why Wijnaldum at crystal palace if Klop actually wants to win a trophy!

8.) 14 Oct 2017 22:21:13
Ed. I agree that we should have won today BUT context is needed. We did not play our best today esp. in midfield cos it seemed like our boys were knackered today. That seemed to be the same for all the big teams today bar Spurs and of course, City. It was also quite disjointed in the final third as it seemed like the wrong decisions were being made. Having said that, a point is not great BUT not bad esp. in the context of Arsenal and Chelsea losing. However, I will say that we really need to start taking our chances cos the Can one was unforgivable. De Gea had already given up hope of getting to it and Can skied a sitter. On to Spurs, I guess.

9.) 15 Oct 2017 10:45:45
Maybe I set the bar a little low Ed25 but compared to previous games where our midfield has been bypassed way too easily, way too often, I felt we had complete control of the park this time and pressed well when we lost possession.

Yes I agree we could still get more attacking threat from them but Gini seemed far more up for carrying the ball forward than previous games, Can got into the box more etc. and against Mourinho you will naturally have to make a lot of sideways passes while you probe for an opening. It’s when we do it when there’s space all over the park that drives me nuts.

I’m also not saying it’s the best performance ever but it’s a base to start from and I’d rather we didn’t look so porous first, then worked out how we get the best out of a top attack second. I’m sure given time we’ll get back into the scoring habit, and if we’re doing so with clean sheets we’ll race up the table.

{Ed025's Note - if you dominate a game like yesterday SG then you have to make it count, too much pussy footing around in midfield and a misfiring attack means you will lose ground for me mate, united are 10 points ahead and its not because they are great its because they are clinical in finishing teams off..

03 Oct 2017 15:48:38
Again after the international break we're on at 12:30 on a Saturday morning! How on earth do they get away with this? Last time we played 12:30 on a Saturday after an international break we lost 5-0. {Ed025's Note - ahh diddums, its the same for both teams jezza and its just another excuse ready for if things go tits up mate..

1.) 03 Oct 2017 16:48:32
How petty. It is what it is, they are professional footballers im sure they'll be fine.

2.) 03 Oct 2017 16:54:49
OP, the KO time and pitch size is the same for both teams so why are you complaining? I hope you are being sarcastic cos that was no a very sensible post.

3.) 03 Oct 2017 18:20:00
It's quite ironic though. The last time we played them lot at Anfield it was straight after an International fixture.

Though titties David Gill, the international break will actually do us a favour this time round, in my opinion

4.) 03 Oct 2017 20:20:06
We usually play Utd at midday on a Saturday due to the huge interest in Asia in the game.

5.) 03 Oct 2017 23:06:05
United played in Russia 24 hours after Liverpool and kicked off in the prem 24 hours earlier on the weekend after returning. Didn't make much difference as we won and you drew. Same for both teams.

6.) 04 Oct 2017 09:55:52
Russia has nothing to do with the qualifiers Stand, the flight time is only around 4 hours to Moscow

Liverpool's players will travel an extra 6,000 or so miles more than your squad.

Brazil's last game is on the 10th October, we play you on the 14th. Getting back from Brazil is sliglhty different to Moscow.

That's the way it goes but it's worth pointing out, the last time we played you at Anfield, it was straight after an international .

28 Sep 2017 14:23:14
So anchelloti has managed to foul up one of the easiest jobs in world football.

Jezza kyle

1.) 28 Sep 2017 15:14:18
I wouldn't go that far mate. The team was destroyed by Guardiola more than anyone, which set them back years on the European stage. Under Pep, Munich fell behind Atletico, Juventus, PSG, Real, Barcelona and arguably even Chelsea.

Ancelotti has had to coach Bayern through a period in which major players have been lost or just got too old such as Lahm, Robben, Ribery, Schweinsteiger etc. Even Alonso who was only there a few years was a massive loss. Muller is not the same player, Boateng looks shot to pieces, Neuer has started struggling with injuries.

In the same period, the re-emergence of Dortmund, Hoffenheim, and the new RB Leipzig has turned the league on it's head, with it no longer being a single club who are miles ahead of the rest.

As we've seen with Man United, losing that many world class players in the space of a few years isn't easy to cope with. Ferguson had the sense to jump ship and protect his legacy, but it has taken 5 years for them to recover.

Ancelotti has still had a lot of domestic success there, but that is quite simply the expectation. Munich are judged on their performance in Europe and they just can't compete with the big guns in such a massive transitional period.

I feel for Ancelotti. He is one of the best in the world, and a very nice bloke, but the job he took was anything but easy. Ask Moyes, LVG, Souness, Hiddink or Rafa how easy it is to take over a club at the end of an era. This is a manager who has more trophies than virtually anyone else in the game. It is ridiculous to even imply he is the only reason or even the main reason for this decline on the European front. Bayern's time as a super power both in Germany and Europe will be truly tested now. I can see them spending a few years out in the wilderness before they return to dine at the top table. Domestically I'm sure they'll still compete, but not to the level of the last decade with title after title. You can't pin this all on Ancelotti.

The main worry now is that they come in for Klopp!

{Ed001's Note - how many of those problems are caused by Ancelotti? Muller was fine until he took over. Lahm still had years left in but he chose to retire rather than continue etc. Ancelotti has underachieved everywhere he went, always had the best teams but never won as much as he should, particularly in terms of domestic league trophies.}

2.) 28 Sep 2017 15:52:48
Fair comment Ed, i just don't think you can make a sweeping statement like the OP did with at least putting the situation into context. Ancelotti's record in Europe is an incredible feat in itself.

I don't want to speculate how much influence he had on Muller and Lahm as i don't know even half the story. He certainly has won things everywhere he has been though. Be that Milan, Chelsea, Madrid or Bayern. At Real Madrid and Chelsea I'm not convinced he had the best teams either. He was at Madrid whilst Barcelona were at the height of their power, and he was at Chelsea before Ferguson had retired and United were still the dominant force. No doubt at Milan he had the best side in Europe, and at Bayern he still had the best team domestically, even if it was in decline.

I rate him though. I wish he had managed us at some point, but i think the opportunity has passed personally/ unfortunately.

{Ed001's Note - what did he win with a Juve side that was sweeping all before it under Lippi before he was sacked and Lippi returned to win back to back Scudettos, beating Ancelotti's Milan side both times? He won 1 Serie A title with that AC Milan side that was much better than the rest, that is underachieving. Winning some things with the best teams is hardly achieving or we would all accept Pep Guardiola is the greatest manager ever.....}

3.) 28 Sep 2017 17:45:53
Lol MK why on earth would Bayern turn to Klopp other than German connections? Klopp has forgotten how to win a trophy and that won’t interest Bayern board! Lol! Liverpool can have him as we have no ambition other than 4th place trophy 😆😆😆.

{Ed025's Note - thats a bit unfair harry klopp has only had 2 years and i think he has done a fine job up to now, i think he is building something special at liverpool and im sure if he gets the defence sorted and maybe a top striker liverpool will be competing at the very highest level mate...for me hes miles better than ancelotti..

4.) 28 Sep 2017 18:32:16
Harry do you even support LFC. with comments like that i am not sure!

I am with ED01 i don't see what the fuss is about with Anceloti, decent but nothing special and always landed on his feet in terms of the clubs he's managed.

I am with ED025 re Klopp but ED02 does make some very very valid points re Klopp.

5.) 28 Sep 2017 18:55:49
Ed01 is correct. Love Ancelotti as a player and manager but at Bayern, he was a failure, end of. The day I knew Ancelotti was shot as a manager was when he went to PSG and labored like heck to win a weak French League title that season even tho PSG had the best team and the most money, with Beckham of all people. The guy is finished.

As for those "fans" thinking Klopp will get the sack cos he did not win the PL for you in his first full season, Ed25 is correct as they are about to get their wet dreams dashed. We are not letting Bayern have Klopp at any price and they can do one. Klopp is ours, worts and all and the "fans" clamoring for him to leave should stop perpetuating that nonsense on here.

{Ed002's Note - You have little or no knowledge about what happened at PSG - that is obvious from you making these stupid comments.}

10 Sep 2017 12:37:40
Situation: city had a corner first half the ball gets half cleared to MANE on the edge of the box he gets kicked high chest or head height and the ref gives a free kick and not even a yellow card. Watch the game again see the incident again see how differently the two incidents are punished.

2.) 10 Sep 2017 13:22:59
Time to move on what's done is done. He will miss 3 games, Burnley and Leicester for 2 games (League and league cup) . I don't think the club should appeal it and risk a longer ban. It's time for player's to step up and prove we are not a one man team and in case anyone forgot we have a little Brazilian that is an adequate replacement.

I really think silva is past it by a good few years there’s no end product with him he only scores tap ins because he’s always over playing and he’s not scoring many when he’s an attacking midfielder in a team that seems head and shoulders above the rest. I really don’t get how he’s still being talked about as if he’s still he player he was at his peak.

Jezza kyle

{Ed001's Note - are you sure you are watching David Silva and not some other Silva? He doesn't score many because that is not his role, he is the creator of the goals. I don't see how scoring a tap in means he is overplaying, that has absolutely no bearing on anything other than meaning he is in the right place to tap it in. Silva is still the central figure in everything Citeh do.}

He’s a long way past his best how he got MOTM at the weekend he’s night and day compared to de bruyne he’s constantly over playing and more surprisingly he gave the ball away a lot and wasted possession also. Isn’t half the player he was 5 years ago he’s not in the same league as de bruyne or coutinho or erikson.

He’s not a class player he’s a classy player. In glimpses he’s got it all as I said originally, everything apart from the desire, workrate and mentality to do it consistently and then become a class player. He can light up a game, he can score great goals etc. But he’s lazy so he’s not. Form is temporary class is permanent Boufal’s form fluctuates in a game let along 5/ 6 games, half a season, a season to be described as class. He’s saints shaquiri, zaha, Townsend, bolase, Gaston Ramirez and alike.

If I was a manager and my player did that he’d be sat next to me before the goal kick was taken. Mane cost us the game today undoubtedly. 2-0 up at half time would’ve crushed them instead the game was left in the balance meaning one wrong decision could get them a point which it did. Calvert lewins clever play and dive fooled the moronic ref who is without doubt one of the worst in the league. He gave the penalty Rooney smashed it down the middle and our keeper dived out of the way. Mane’s greed cost us our cushion which our lack of cost us the game.

He can only be punished retrospectively for “successfully deceiving” the ref. The penalty incident last week involving Morata that I saw was a nailed on penalty where he controlled the ball back to goal and the keeper nailed him from behind and nothing was given.
