Something very much wrong with Darren england in that audio.
N0.1 was he not actually watching the game?
No.2 is this the language he uses all the time, it's fine, all OK etc without ever saying clearly, goal onside etc
No.3 why was he so quick to say he could do nothing? If u make a clanger immediately your thinking how to rectify it. Surely u contact ref immediately and tell him to stop game and see can your mistake be rectified. Utd got a pen at Brighton after final whistle

I have to be honest it seems more like a corrupt offical than a incompetent offical.

I disagree, he was very clear when he said he couldn’t stop the game and couldn’t do anything. The rest of it was like a kids tea party, funny that.

The conspiracy theorists will always be in a losing battle. Not because they are wrong, but because there will never ever be footage available of envelopes exchanging hands. Isn't that what is needed to prove them right? Get my point? It was easy to confirm incompetence through the audio message. But most of us saw it live in front of our noses, already.

But even then, I am firmly convinced that there are hidden agendas and there is corruption in the game. Players have been caught at it. Even a national manager was caught at it on video. What makes the referees different? Are they angelic saints?

I don’t think there was any panic at all. I don’t get why the word onside wasn’t used at any point at all in the decision making process, nor did he ask what the onfield decision was if he wasn’t sure. There are 6 officials there that are supposed to communicate to come to the correct decision and it took the kid who helps get the correct angles for the decisions to be made to try and resolve the situation for them only to be ignored. That shouldn’t happen, at all. The panic set in when they realised how big a **** up they had made and then they still decided not to put it right at the time. It’s either a mistake that should cost him his position, or it’s something more sinister. Regardless of whatever one it is, the process needs to be changed and the people making such massive errors need to be punished instead of hidden.

I’ve no doubt ArAy that some forms of corruption have happened ArAy. , even from one of our own goalkeepers way back but you can’t tell me that the gross incompetence of the VAR official was corrupt? Like I said, it was a complete balls up and exactly what the PGMOL said it was.

The fact that the replay operator spots it and the two ex-referees didn’t, emphasises how unimportant it is to have referees in charge of VAR.

Should they have a presence, absolutely, but it is not a fundamental requirement and should not be a closed shop aka retirement home for ex-referees.
