If Chelsea are stupid enough to churn out good young players. sell them for next to nothing, then sign a billion pounds worth of young players from teams academies that you consider inferior to Chelsea’s (to reach the giddy heights of mid table) why wouldn’t Klopp take advantage of such a set up?

Have no idea what this means or is referring to.
But I like prioritising youth development.

{Ed002's Note - The poster does not understand how the academy system works nor the situation with younger players at Chelsea. Liverpool should look to improving their academy - as should most sides.}

Liverpool seem to be doing well at minute with taking in youth players to team. Trent+Curtis regulars in team, kelleher+elliott play a lot as well. quansah I've no doubt will play lot of games for us if he continues his trajectory and stays fit. Bajectic only for injury would I'm sure be regular in team as well.

Totally agree with edd 2 there. We have hardly any youth coming through that are Liverpool trained.
We seem to have picked up a few good young players from other teams though so that's good.

The irony being that Sterling came through the Liverpool Academy and plays for Chelsea and (insert name here) came through the Chelsea Academy and plays for us. Seriously, who do we actually have that came through the Chelsea Academy?

Ultimately, it comes down to what you are measuring when judging whether an academy is "good". Are you measuring the development and education of local talent, because you care about the local community and its contribution to the identity and culture of the club? Or are you developing young talent (local and recruited) to offer an alternative to spending fortunes in the transfer market on recruitment of new players? Or do you see the academy as a supplemental revenue stream for the club, by training and selling talent on to bolster funds available? All are real and valid measures these days.

@O2b, Kelleher, TAA, Quansah, Chambers, Scanlon, Elliot, Jones, McConnell, Bajcetic, Doak, off the top of my head, have all featured in the first team squad since the start of the season. I believe that your opinion is factually incorrect.

Pretty sure Sterling was a product of QPR WDW.

For the first time in ages I am agreeing with WDW3. What a hit son. What a hit :)

"We have hardly any youth coming through that are Liverpool trained. "

I literally stopped reading after that waffle which happens to be patently false, as WDW3 just debunked. Good grief!
