We are playing Man City. We need Nunez coming in as a sub, and Endo as DM with license to be ruthless. Szobo needs freedom to inflict pain and Luiz needs to keep attention away from Salah.
But if we go heavy metal . we will need luck to win.

Endo needs license to be smart. The referee will be looking for any chance to give him an early booking tomorrow while completely ignoring similar offences from Rodri - it’s an easy opportunity to get the home crowd off his back (not that the City crowd are particularly good) .

My fear is we go behind early like we have a few times already this season, because we do have a knack of making plenty of mistakes in games and most teams we play seem to get a number of chances against us.

City will be out to prove a point with all this FFP situation in the background - although I can see nothing happening to them.

I have to record the game today as I'm doing a roofing job early this afternoon. If we win I'll watch it, if not I'll hit the delete button!

OP If we are 2 down then, Nunez coming off the bench will accomplish what exactly? What are you saving him for cos we will not have the type of threat he possesses that our other strikers do not posses? So you're going to save arguably your best weapon on the bench "just in case? Not sure you thought this thru, mate.

It's like saving your best penalty takers for the end of a shootout while forgetting that you may not even get there. Sorry, that logic doesn't run with me.

If all our guys are fit, Nunez, Diaz and Salah should start and we go for it, like Chelsea did esp. vs a City who is super vulnerable to pace in behind. If we lose at least we went for it. If we lose without fighting and saving your best weapon on the bench when the game is potentially gone, is selling yourself short, IMO.

Jota is always great as a sub.

I'd go

Ali, Tsimikas, Virg, Matip, Trent, Endo, Jones, Szobo, Diaz, Nunez, Salah.

Sometimes you have to accept you’re playing a superior side away from home.
The smart thing to do would be sit back 11 men behind the ball, flood the midfield, and use the pace of Nunez on the counter.

If everyone is fit and Endo starts I’ll eat my hat.

It's obvious mo scores the opener nunez bags a hatrick the diaz gets the 5th.

Heavy metal is the way to go against city. when pressed they have so many mistakes on them. problem is no one has a go on them.

Well, we didn't sit back now, did we? We went for it, pressed high, stayed in the game and got the point our bravery and coyrage deserved, IMO. Up Da Pool.

They had more than 60% possession Oli.

13.) 25 Nov 2023
25 Nov 2023 18:20:58
And we got 50% of the points.
Take that all day long.

14.) 25 Nov 2023
25 Nov 2023 18:49:00
And we had 74% possession at the start of the month vs. Luton, Random.

Didn't translate to 3 points, did it?

My point is you can't say we "didn't sit back" because we did. Which is fine, it earned us a point.

The best thing about a poor match (the atmosphere sounded woeful) was City dropping the two pints.

I thought C.V. crowd restrictions had been brought back in. there's more atmosphere at my local yoga club.
