5:1 against Arsenal. Do you know what's scary. We actually played at about 60%. We've got another gear or two!

1.) 30 Dec 2018 00:07:46
We got a bit of luck, the bobbled goal came at the perfect time, and very soft pen on Lovren. But if I was an arsenal fan I’d be furious. Koscienly has stolen a living for years now, can’t believe they still play him! He makes Matip look keen. He walks back to the goal after getting beaten. Mustafi is just as bad, I swear he went off ‘injured’ the last time we put a few past them. If it gets tough he gets going. They are awful at the back, other teams just know they can have a go and put them under pressure and they can get something. Hopefully people know see that with city!

2.) 30 Dec 2018 03:33:17
Would ya stop firmane, there was only one team that was going to win when arsenal went one up. Unbelievable performance.

3.) 30 Dec 2018 04:01:09
What a day lads. city next.

pre season begins tomorrow for the European Champions. I hope we bring at least one player in to compete with the first team, I just think with everyone else spending, standing still probably isn't a good idea.

1.) 10 Jul 2019 20:20:30
We will sign players.

2.) 10 Jul 2019 20:52:28
How is not spending any money standing still? We have a number of players that barely played last season for various reasons and a bunch of kids who get a chance to show what they can do. We will be better than last season even if we do nothing in the transfer market.

3.) 10 Jul 2019 21:20:16
Exactly Thunderbird. We're still bedding in Keita, the Ox has to come back and we're hoping Brewster can make the next step up. Combine that with natural improvement across a fairly young squad and we're in great shape.

I'd like a signing, but the notion that we're "standing still" if we don't is ridiculous. The club will buy a player if they see value, its what they've done the last couple years and they have a great record. Buying for the sake of it often means you're not financially ready to commit when a better player comes along.

4.) 11 Jul 2019 00:25:52
We only have to look at history to see not spending is standing still. You cannot bring kids through and expect to win anything with them. Even if they are highly rated and will be as back up or but parts. You ask Alan Hansen.

5.) 11 Jul 2019 00:26:14
If you think not buying anyone isn't standing still then your deluded and an FSG apologist.

6.) 11 Jul 2019 04:19:47
Now that the club aren't buying anyone, yet, its FSG to blame?

I wonder how much more they need to do.

Eamon's point is spot-on. I believe the club do want a few more, maybe they aren't available? So what else the club can do? Drag them into the club?

7.) 11 Jul 2019 07:32:31
Didn't take long for the "FSG apologist" rubbish to reappear. And all because the manager won't sign anyone. Idiots.

8.) 11 Jul 2019 08:20:58
good to see you back Waro, shame to see you're still spouting on about FSG.

9.) 11 Jul 2019 09:38:34
Waro, spurs didn't spend a penny last season and they made it to the champions league final . Their best achievement ever.

10.) 11 Jul 2019 09:31:22
Hundreds of millions spent and a champions league won and 'fans' still throw around terms like "FSG apologist". If you can't grasp how a team can improve without spending then you should google the term "coaching" and "football basics", you're in for a fun surprise.

If the club see value they'll buy. If not, they won't. Thank god internet 'fans' aren't on the transfer committee, we'd be in administration.

11.) 11 Jul 2019 10:30:51
You always look to improve the team even when you are on top, that is how you stay there. If you don't then you are standing still as your rivals invest to catch you up.
The transfer window is not closed yet anyway but I am sure Liverpool are working discreetly to sign the players Klopp wants.
Waro takes some criticism on here but he is absolutely right about investing in the squad to keep improving. Not sure I agree with his FSG apologist comment though, maybe he can elaborate further.

12.) 11 Jul 2019 11:46:42
The fact that Spurs fluked their way to the Final after losing 20 games last season cannot justify spending no money.
We have one left back, no cover for the front three, and we miss a creative midfielder. This is the best team we've had in years, and the best position financially, don't stand still and wait for Salah to leave next season end up going back 5 years like when Suarez left.

13.) 11 Jul 2019 14:34:58
Absolute rubbish being spouted on here. The window is not shut yet. Nobody knows who the club are trying to sign. Same as last May nobody knew a thing about Fabinho until it was done. If on the 10th of August there's still no signings then start your whining.

14.) 11 Jul 2019 15:29:24
I've said what I think of FSG multiple times on here greenflash and it just causes headaches for people so I won't go into it again, you've seen the reaction to the small comment I made above, you cannot criticise or challenge anything to do with Liverpool because they're all vying for the role of number one fan, I mean someone just said hundreds of millions spent and again don't balance that comment with hundreds of millions that were taken in meaning those millions could be spent.

I'll try and break this down into logic. If team A wins the league from team B because of a better and bigger squad depth, and also win two other trophies you would say team A was better than team B? Fast forward to the next season team A buy more quality to add to a fantastic squad they already have (possibly 3 quality signings) and team B go with what they have meaning team A's squad depth is now even bigger and better than team B's, what would that say using logic about the destination of the title the following season? Dissect all the other nonsense you may want to spout about coaching etc. and just use basic logic, you cannot and will not finish above team A thinking logically.

15.) 11 Jul 2019 20:01:20
I agree with much of what you say Waro, but the right players must be available as buying for the sake of it is a mistake. Furthermore, nobody should ever use Spurs Champions league final place as a shining example of why Liverpool do not need to invest in the squad. Spurs have gone backwards.

18 Jun 2019 16:11:39
What is going on? 5k fans for the SuperCup final!? It's a disgrace, there's no fans at the match anymore.

1.) 18 Jun 2019 21:55:01
I wouldn't mind a jolly boys outing in Istanbul if there's a ticket going?

06 Jun 2019 16:28:06
The new home top looks great with the old LFC retro lines down it. It looks even better with the current champions league holders badge on the right arm. And the 6 European Royalty badge on the left. Maybe a golden club World Cup badge in the middle will be the icing on the top Reds ;)

1.) 06 Jun 2019 17:51:29
I’m thinking of getting 6 Madrid on the back of my lads but surely that’s why people didn’t want us to win it?

2.) 06 Jun 2019 18:18:34
I saw lots of those tops in Spain. 6 Madrid no probs. 7 Istanbul, they might have a point.

3.) 06 Jun 2019 18:54:03
Lerchy, get whatever number / wording feel mate with no hangups. ⚽️💪👌❤.

01 Jun 2019 23:54:16
Liverpool football club. 6 times European champions. Let's not kid ourselves, I know we wanted the League, but this is the biggest trophy of them all. The one that everyone wants all the big boys across Europe and we've done it YNWA.

1.) 02 Jun 2019 00:08:21
Not a bad consolation prize 🏆😂.

06 Apr 2019 12:51:37
First of all I thought Southampton were excellent, there's not too many teams that match Liverpool for fight, but they did last night.
The midfield was wrong, im not Klopp but I don't think we know for sure our best 3. It didn't work though Fab was out numbered and Wij went missing.
Salah has woke up again just at the right time, and this is the first time in 6 years I've seen the captain grab the game by the scruff and change the match. Delighted Red.

1.) 06 Apr 2019 13:24:00
Agreed. The ones who were saying "the players don't care" and "Henderson and Milner should not be starting" (last week) got a big dose of reality which showed experience manifests itself in various ways. Wiji had an off game, and that too, we see from time to time with him, when playing away. Great tactical switch to play Hendo above Fabinho in the No.8 role.

Klopp has settled on a rotation of Hendo, Milner, Fabinho, and Lallana and I would say it's going to serve us very well for the remaining 5 games. I'll repeat what others have said about needing an AM for next season. I prefer Firmino up top and closer to the box- he has excellent instincts with those headers and tap ins.

If any ManC players were watching our last two games, they'd feel the pressure rising up, because they'd realize we want this title, and we're not going away gently.

2.) 06 Apr 2019 13:36:43
I think Klopp favourite midfield is Hendo, Gini and Milner, with Fabinho a close 4th. People think it’s not creative enough, and that’s perhaps a fair criticism, but that midfield almost guarantees control of the midfield battle and our main goal scoring threat isn’t from midfield anyway, it’s from our front three and from our fullbacks.

We play a very different system to Man City and it’s sometimes a little less creative, but it gives us a good shot in every game because we concede so few, and always have a good chance of a goal or two with our forwards and fullbacks pushing forward.

3.) 06 Apr 2019 14:06:04
Brilliant posts, lads. SGRed, Klopp in fact addressed your last paragraph in his post game comments last night when he was asked about how City play in contrast to how we play. He was kind of irritated by the question and said he does not understand why this comparison exists. He said that we play the way we play based on the system we play and the players we have hence, it is pointless (except you want to whind people up) to make such a baseless comparison.

Also, IMO Klopp's preferred mid 3 of Hendo, Gini and Milner are NOT there to provide creativity even tho each have a pass in them at times. They are there to press, hustle and harry the oppo. into losing the ball in dangerous areas and then give it to the front three to do their thing. And Since Bobbie is a CF who can play the no. 10, there is your creativity right there. I will also say that there are games where that mid 3 will not work hence something has to change like it did in the Spurs game when Spurs changed to a back 4 from a back 5.

The bottom line is that Salah has broken his drought and based on his celebration, he is super angry and frankly like the Incredible Hulk, you won't like Salah when he's angry. We are up for the fight and City esp. their smug fans, are prolly peeing their pants cos they know they will have to deal with us till the very last kick of the season, something they are not used to. Why? cos they know it will be their turn to stare down the barrel of perilous fixtures.

4.) 06 Apr 2019 14:09:59
We don't score enough goals in the biggest games when those 3 play together but I agree it should give us more control.

I just want to offer full praise to Hendo he won us the game last night. I think that is his best role 30 mins from the bench but Gini looks knackered so Hendo should play from the start v Porto.

Klopp also changed the subs at the right time for a change. Hope he keeps that up, we often need a refresh on 60 mins.

5.) 06 Apr 2019 14:41:11
RedWolf, great post. That is exactly how I see our midfield and I am bemused when posters cry out for more creativity from them. Isn’t it enough to have 5 creative players on the pitch?

6.) 06 Apr 2019 15:03:09
What did I just witness, mark praised Hendo! Bloody hell now that's one to remember! 🤔.

7.) 06 Apr 2019 15:44:56
I quite like Fabinho, Henderson and Wijnaldum as our starting midfield for big games.

8.) 06 Apr 2019 16:06:15
Always more that happy to praise any player who performs to that level and turn a game in our favour. Probably our best player and he only played 20 mins. Milner did a fine job as well. Suppose Milner will have to play lb v Porto.

9.) 06 Apr 2019 16:33:31
I am hereby calling and appealing for Solskjaer and ManU to avenge their thrashing of 6-1 at the hands of ManC last year. It's not at all about us wanting to win the title, but about righting all previous wrongs and regaining lost honour, of course. 😉.

10.) 07 Apr 2019 02:16:34
for me our best midfield includes Fabinho as the deepest of the 3 with some combo of hendo/ milner/ lallana partnering gini as the 2 box to box CMs. I think we should be unleashing Hendo to play further forward and use his energy. he is also a lot more creative in the final 3rd than he gets credit for.

11.) 07 Apr 2019 08:32:52
Hendo played very well last night in an advanced forward role which was allowed by fab playing deep. When Hendo plays with Wiji and Milner he isn’t in that role and is deeper. So therefore for me that isn’t our best midfield. For me Fab starting allows the others to be more adventurous as well as doing the dog work they are used to. Our best midfield is fab and any 2 from Milner, Wiji and Hendo. Just ask Bayern’s midfield.

Keita struggled at times last season, Injuries didn't help and he's not really had a run of games does anyone know when he's fit, and if he's in the pre season set up?

Cover for the front three is definitely what we need. Sane is unrealistic, I'd take a chance on Zaha from palace. Can play wide and upfront, he's not lazy. Maybe worth a look reds?

Gini has played ok for us. But klopps replaced him, so he couldn't of been that good.

Why is it okay for City to have 2 players for every position, but when We talk about a player it's "who's he replacing"?
🤔 Competition is great in my eyes.

{Ed001's Note - City do not have 2 players for every position and are struggling to keep players happy that are on the fringes.}
