We're now being linked with Andrea Rannochia, the former Inter skipper and CB, who has been getting less playing time under Mancini.

No idea if the links are true and I haven't seen much of him. He's 6'5, so presumably could help our back line some much needed height on those crosses.

I really trust Klopp though, let's face it if he was holding there defence together and star man each week we wouldn't be able to afford him let alone Inter willing to let him go. Bergkamp sat on inters bench before the Arse bought him so who knows. If Klopp wants him ill back him :)

His form has dipped this year, but he started regularly for Inter last year and has 20 caps with The Azzurri since 2010.

He was captain when they were struggling in mid table in a poor Italian league. He is supposed to have good leadership skills, which we do need, but isn't the quality we should be aiming for. A loan to buy would be best if we had to go for him.

Italians don't put as much importance in the role of captain.
I would say that is no indicator of ability.
