Hopefully as a 2nd chocie/ cup keeper and either a) we buy someone new in the summer or b) Ward becomes 1st choice.

I don't see him as a bad 2nd choice keeper.

His contract was running down and by signing I guess we are trying to maximize any residual value should we sell him on.

Think he still has/ had 2.5 years to go on his previous contract, so not sure it was really 'running down'.
