First of all, a very happy new year!

I have a couple of questions for the Eds.

I have seen stories linking us to Federico Redondo (Argentinian U20 DM) . He seems well regarded in Argentina and apparently available for just £8M.

Is this a player we have looked at (presumably as an Andre alternative)?

If we have been looking at him would he get a work permit? My understanding is that it can be difficult at times when the player does not have any full caps and he is only capped at U20 level. Does the fact that he was born in Spain (presumably whilst his dad was playing for Real Madrid) change anything?

{Ed002's Note - Federico Redondo (DM/CM) Chelsea have had the player scouted in Argentina but the player wants a move to Real Madrid, who have also sent scouts. At £8M there is little chance of a Work Permit in England. He is an Argentine citizen.}

Fernando Redondos son according to Wikipedia. Injuries aside I thought he was a world class midfielder. If his son can emulate him then he's going to be some player.

Ed's why are LFC not taking a punt on cheap, young Argentines like City are? Plenty of potential at cheap prices there.

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of Manchester City taking "punts" on any cheap young "Argentines". They are however investing significantly, as are Chelsea and PSG, in talented young players for the future.}
