During the cup the announcer said “as expected Virgil will depart with klopp” first I’ve heard this any truth to it?

VVD was asked about his contract after Klopp’s announcement and he said he wasn’t sure as it depends who comes in and what direction the club wants to go. Basically saying they might not offer him a contract if they decide to replace him or the new manager doesn’t want him.

That was then twisted by the media as ‘Van Dijk unsure if he’ll stay after Klopp leaves’. That’s not what he said at all.

Van Dijk then came out with a statement saying his words had been taken out of context and he’s very happy where he is.

Nothing to see, just the media doing their usual nonsense.

What the commentator meant was that Virgil and Klopp would be going up the stairs to collect the trophy together. I don't understand how you can understand anything else by it.

What is it with this site recently were people feel the need to lambast somebody for asking a perfectly simple, honest question?
There are several possibilities Reynard as to why the OP might understand it differently. Firstly, their intellectual may be that if a normal, everyday person and not at the exceedingly high, Mensa level you obviously have yourself to enable you to understand everything so clearly. On a serious note, maybe English isn't their first language and they were watching a stream with English commentary. Or maybe they misheard and came to a LFC forum to ask a question and start a discussion, relying on the knowledge of others.
The other day it was Thunderbird I think it was (apologies if not) replying in a similar manner to someone who takes the time to post some information, a rumour if you will, on a rumours page. How about maybe taking some additional time to consider things before replying.
