If the owners do decide to release Rodgers from his managerial duties, what do people think about letting O'Driscoll take the reins until the end of the season?

Apparently he is a very good man manager and is highly respected by the players. Can't do any worse than Rodgers has done. This can also give the owners enough time to appoint the right manager or even keep O'Driscoll in the job if he impresses.

Just my thoughts as it would be disappointing to see the coaching staff leave so early into their tenure, if another manager brings in his own staff. That's if the owners do ditch Rodgers of course.

No thanks. I don't think he has worked at any big clubs before and I don't think he has any European experience.

He absolutely could do worse than Rodgers and he won't find it easy to retain top players. If you are going to go through the process of sacking Rodgers then you have to hire someone who is more qualified for the job. S O'D just doesn't fit the demographic IMO.

Hell no. if that's the case then we rather keep Rodgers till the end of the season. Your post only shows how far behind we are to the extent the fans are accepting mediocrity. we got a championship manager in Br and now you want someone from league one to take care of the situation. Lol
personally I believe Br should remain if we can't get a proper replacement immediately.

Why is it a must that a new manager has to have managed "Big clubs" to be considered for the role. Many top class managers in the game have came from lower league "small clubs" and have been a huge success. I will use our very own Bill Shankly as the prime example who was managing Workington a few years before Liverpool, plus the likes of Ferguson who was at Aberdeen. There's many more. Some people just need the chance to succeed. Most of you would only be happy with Klopp or Ancellotti and would rather Rodgers stay in his post rather than giving someone else a chance?.

Aberdeen were far from a lowly club when Fergie left. He won the Scottish double with them and a European trophy (UEFA cup)?
You don't have to have managed at the highest level, but if you have managed at a lower level and not really put yourself in the spotlight then it doesn't bode well.

He may be the best thing since sliced bread, but it's not a risk we should be taking IMO.

We gave that chance to BR 3 years ago.

I think Aberdeen might be a bit surprised to discover they were on a par with Workington when Ferguson managed them. Leaving that aside, don't forget Fergie was a goal away from being sacked and Shanks took over a club in need of work just to be near the top flight. We've just had the developing managing given time to work, it hasn't. We've spent £300M on a squad that is actually capable of challenging for trophies (barring an issue of CBs lacking the top level). If the club wants to move to a situation where big names will come and stay, where silverware will be regularly picked up, where the stadium expansion makes financial sense, etc then we need someone with the ability to come in and perform at the top level. We don't have the luxury of another guy finding his feet at this level. Plus there aren't a lot of Shanklys and Cloughs hanging around these days.

We need someone with a proven track record and someone who knows how to win. Someone who is respected in the game. We tried the up and coming with Brendan and look what happened.

I've wanted Carlo for a long time. Brilliant coach, great man manager and would keep and attract top players. Would be the best manager we will of had in years. If we are in talks, then rodgers' days are well and truly over... but are we?

One of the key reason we need a top name is to restore belief and attract top talent. We're hard enough to recruit for as it is, but I'm sure signing or keeping top players will be easier with a klopp or ancelloti vs a S o'd. .can't afford any more talent drain
