Good news coming in today over the expansion of anfield road end and to conduct a feasibilty to add 8-9k more seats.

It looks like a positive decision will be made as the recent attendances for matches have mostly been in the 53k although i understand that's not the only aspect considered.

Eds is there any way the club can expand the stadium beyond the expansion of the anfield road end? I really think 62,000 isn't enough for a club like liverpool who have a worldwide fan base. We could fill 90,000 this weekend if we had the seats I think. If there were more seats ticket prices could come down. I love Anfield and always will but think we should of built a stadium on Stanley Park when we had the chance.

{Ed002's Note - No. (a) Liverpool do not have the money to pay for the new infrastructure that would be required. (b) Liveroop do not have the money to expand the stadium that far. (c) The ticket pricese would not come down and it will take many, many years to pay back.

Not going to happen.}

I had the same question but bringing it to 62k would br a great acheivement and credit should go to fsg

Also avg 60k attendance will be easier compared to 90k.

Correct me if I'm wrong eds but I think that one you go past 60k you need rail links into the stadium area?

{Ed002's Note - Yes, the infrastructure needs to be beefed up.}

I don't even think FSG are looking to expand the Anfield road end.

Correct Ed002?

{Ed002's Note - They have planning permission for Phase 2 that runs through to 2019 and could be extended. It will be a costly exercise.}
