Hello ed1, there is a lot of debate on social media at the moment about whether we concede so many set pieces due to personnel or due to a wider systematic problem. I personally think its a mixture of the two and Karius needs a chance after that performance from Migs, what's your view?

{Ed001's Note - it is a mix of the two. I am more worried about Matip, who simply cannot defend and does not take charge of any situations.}

Ward needs a shot. He had an excellent season last year and leaving him rot as our 3rd choice is criminal.

And yet Klopp thinks Matip is an amazing defender. Shows he is not a very good judge of defenders and why we will not win anything while he is here. Not an ounce of improvement shown by Klopp and his cronies from last season. What do they talk about in the dugout? The colour of each other's teeth?

Ed- Matip played exactly the same way at Shalke.

Thanks for the response, I agree Lovren seems to be a scapegoat for Matip a lot of the time. This set pieces issue needs addressing if we are to have any hope of coming in the top 4 this year that's for sure.

Zonal marking is all well and good but that's working on the basis of our players actually attacking the ball and blocking off runs. At least stand in the bloody way of an attacker running on to the ball!
