Anyone else wishing we had the power of foresight and were able to see how well Péter Gulácsi has progressed since leaving us?

Is is now an upgrade to Migs or Karius?

I'd be interested to know the thoughts of any of the EDS, who may be ITK as to why he was given away to Salzburg (for free) and wasn't considered a viable No.1 for us?

{Ed001's Note - because he wasn't at the time willing to wait for a chance and he was not good enough to take the spot.}

The real question isn't 'why wasnt he considered a viable No.1 for us? '. It's 'why was the person who was chosen considered viable'.

Thanks for the reply. I thought you would probably have the answer ED01.

Your opinion on his suitability for No.1 spot now?

Personally, only having seen highlights of the Bundesliga matches he’s played in, I think he’s a step up from both Karius and Migs. but no point in crying over spilt milk, or giving away goalkeepers eh!

{Ed001's Note - I like him, but he talks too much to the media for my liking. I prefer players to do their talking on the pitch rather than tell all and sundry every little thing they are doing or about to do etc. He has seen a few moves fall through because he openly discussed them in the media.}

Gulasci was deemed not good enough to be here well over 5 years ago BUT now, he is a viable option to be our no. 1? Really? I feel it disingenuous and unfair to now hail him as a viable replacement for Karius. In fact, I did not even know where he was playing until last season when RBL got promoted. Could this mean that he was in the second division while Karius was leading Mainz to the EL for the first time in their history? I don't know BUT the OP is being very unfair here.
