Lots of reports that we want James Maddison, Norwich.

He is a very, very good player to be fair, but he is still young and it would be a bad move for all parties unless Klopp has the bottle to give him a chance in the first team, straight from the get go.

He's a centre midfielder with a wand of a right foot for anyone who doesn't know him. His set pieces, long range shots, and range of passing are all remarkable for a 21 year old. He lacks defensive awareness and pace though.

James Maddison? The former U. S President plays for Norwich? That can't be right? He was born 2-3 centuries ago.

Never seen him, but seeing Spurs going for him makes me worry a little bit about another Dele Alli situation!

Haha, maybe we could partner him in midfield with Benjamin Franklin, BRover?

Very good, when he comes in we send Woodburn on loan.

Plus our owners are from Boston. Nice revolutionary spirit in the club ;)

He's nothing like Woodburn Leek.

Maddison specialises in arcing long range shots, dangerous corners, direct and indirect free kicks, composure, whipped crosses and passing range.

Woodburn is direct, has good acceleration, likes to take people on, he's a good finisher, and also creates goal scoring chances with his constant probing.

You might as well compare Beckham and Giggs! A technically gifted English man, and a direct Welsh man!

I don't think Becks was technically gifted, MK. I will have to disagree there. IMO, Becks was a pretty average player in terms of skill and technical ability. However, he made up for it by being a workaholic who focused mostly on his strengths so as to mitigate against his weaknesses in these areas which in the end, is all you need to be successful. It also helps to be a tabloid darling, a spice boy and all that BUT in the end, he worked on his game, and on dead ball situations relentlessly and for that alone, I admire him.

Depends what you define as technical ability. I've always had it down as your touch control, your striking technique, and how well you can manipulate the ball with curve/ dip/ spin etc.

Beckham had the best striking technique I've seen from anyone except Xabi Alonso, and Beckham's touch wasn't bad either. If Beckham had pace and a bit more aggression, he would've been as good as Gerrard, maybe better in my opinion. Sadly he never had that short burst of acceleration to regularly work the space for a shot, so he didn't score enough goals from open play.
