Just for sake of discussion, do we need a like for like couts replacement? Would we be better buying a player to give us plan B
When plan A isn't going for us (stoke at home for example) perhaps a Dzeko or similar type of player, just a thought .

We need to add creativity and goals to the midfield just to give the defence more to think about. We rely on the front three too much.

Someone who can think in a split second. I feel we low balled lyon and should have got closer to their fairy fair price tag. 60 mil to replace a 140 mil player.

I think we should go all out for spurs erikson, I know he won't be cheap but levy does like a bit of bunce. I think he's gettable.

I think Solanke will become the plan B in a 4-2-3-1 like we saw again Brighton. It allows Firmino to drop into the no.10 role to let him create a bit deeper, while still leaving Solanke upfront, also allowing the wingers to stay a bit wider because someone is always in and around the box to deliver the ball to.

I would really like us to get Fekir but we have a plan A and a plan B without him.

Also with regards to goals from midfield, I think Keita will be a very different prospect vs. Gini/ Milner. I would love us to get Fekir for another option, but I think the midfield will be a different proposition for opposition already.

Keita is exceptional and will be the difference for us next season. I can’t actually believe he’ll be joining us. What a talent. Any other signings from here on in will be cherries on the cake.

We definitely need a like for like replacement for Coutinho. But one who will play more centrally and not on the left (as Coutinho did) or on the right. The idea is not to replace Mane or Salah, but to add movement of the ball and creativity in the middle of the park, very little of which we have now. Having a midfielder who can replace Mane or Salah for an added defensive or pressing formation is a plus, but shouldn't be the defining criteria. And I wouldn't start messing around by bringing Firmino back into a #10 position or think that placing Solanke ahead of the front 3 would solve the creativity issue. Way too much emphasis is placed on Hendo, Lovren and VVD being tasked with finding our surging forward/ winger behind the last defender. Control of a game includes controlling the middle of the park when in possession, and pose threats from the entire width of that midfield.

We need players who can come in and strengthen the team, and in particular hel agains the bus parking teams. This doesn't mean that it has to be a Coutinho like for like replacement. It needs someone who can do a job that Klopp particularly requires doing well.

Prince Hendo, how did we low ball Lyon, exactly? Cos Lyon NEVER mentioned that or are you just making that part up or trying to take a pot shot at the club for walking away from a deal where the player had knee issues that could be detrimental to him and the club long term, something many clubs have done before? The last time I checked, the fee, wages and all had been agreed up until the medical and the LFC medical team wanted a second opinion on his knees so again, where did we low ball Lyon? Please, share the info you have cos for right now, none of what you say is true.

As for a replacement for Cou, if we can get one the, no prob. I would not want Eriksen cos he is not even better than Cou. Fekir was an upgrade on Cou but that ain't happening right now so we will see what Klopp foes cos pretty sure alternatives were lined up.

Personally, I don't believe in a plan B cos that means you occasionally lose hope whenever Plan A does not work. The best way to have a plan "B" is to make {Plan A work much better and continue to tweak it if it does not work. I don't see Pep doing a plan B. He made plan A MUCH better after his first season and won the PL at a canter. That is what Klopp is trying to do. He is trying to get goals from midfield which is why Naby is here and even Fab can score goals esp. from penalties cos he is spotless from 12 yards out. That is what we need now so if we can get a viable replacement for Cou, great. If we can, we need to increase our goals production from midfield and add more depth in attack.
