Ed002, with Barcelona promising drastic action after last night, do you see them in a financial position to buy big at the minute? Would they need to sell first? Just wondering whether a chain of events with regards to transfers may kick off with a Barcelona purchase. With that in mind, if they are able to splash out, are any Liverpool players on their radar? Appreciate all the work. Have a great weekend.

{Ed002's Note - They want to make two significant purchases and need to sell or trade players. They have no interest in Liverpool players.}

Which Liverpool player would leave just now to go to Barcelona?
They'd only be the new whipping boy if it all went pearshaped, a la Coutinho.

If this was 3/ 4 years ago they'd be all over mane.

I’m not sure they would Robbie.
Left forward was Messi’s old position and their front three was him, Naymar and Suarez. Awesome.
Everything is cyclical in sport, even great teams like that.
And that’s refreshing actually.

Good point juicer. I meant more in terms of where WE were 3 4 years ago though (well going back 15/ 20 years) with all our best players getting pinched. And just to argue with you: mane was played on the right back then. But no, they wouldn't of needed him then.

I wouldn't take 3 neymar for mane. I know that sounds a bit silly maybe. I don't like players who want to pick the team and take control. But I was bigging up messi yesterday (someone has to do it) and he's like that with his ego. But, he can back it up. He won't do a silky bit of skill when he can simply side step and player. And yeah, neymar has unbelievable technique but he's not on the same planet as messi. Although in his mind he probably thinks he's better.

I wouldn't swap mane for neymar and Messi. Not in a million years.

coutinho
dembele
greizmann

all examples of why it doesn't always work out buying "big names". "world class players". making a "statement of intent". just sign the right player.
