Lot of Bobby bashing, perhaps before you bash any player take into account what their role is for the team.

I really feel like if they just took the number 9 off his back and gave it someone else nobody would whinge, even though its just a number and means nothing.

Just because he's number 9 doesn't mean he is closest to goal. He usually isn't. His job is to create space and opportunity for the two deadly hit men in front of him and to link mid and att. He also does a large amount of defensive work as well (which is often forgotten by his critics) he wins the ball back high up the pitch often starting fast counter attacks.

When you are going to analyse a player watch his ENTIRE game not just the parts you think are relevant.

Well said nevada. And also, it's one game. Someone said earlier an assist is as good as a goal. Of course it is, as one implies the other.

He certainly didn't need replacing when his goal won the cwc. He's so exciting to watch. I'd love to watch him live, I bet the expectation levels in the stadium soar when he gets the ball. He makes stuff happen. In those split seconds it's amazing how often he makes the right decision.
I imagine he knows the other two are better finishers and so looks for them.

Bobby is one of my favourite players so I'd never bash him for missing a few chances. But I don't see why his role in the team is important here when were talking about missed chances. If them chances had fell to gomez I'd like him to at least him the target so I expect the same from Bobby.

Bobby seems to be short of confidence in front of goal, IMO. That may explain why in such situations, he seems to be hesitant and not able to decide if he wants to shoot or play someone in. I have never seen him like this since Klopp took over. He is normally as sharp as a tack and sees things before they happen and is an assist genius.

My hope is that he can get his mojo back and become that genius of a footballer we know him to be. All the other rubbish from the Bobbie bashers need to be ignored as OTT drivel, IMO.

Van dijk is lethal, if he plays in england till the end of his career I think he'll go down as the best ever in the Premier League but even he is getting criticised because he was cocky yesterday. everone gets criticised even though we love them. i love bobby, I just realise he's been a poorer Bobby the last 12/ 18months.

Spot on, JH. We can call out what a player's faults are and offer ways on how they can improve BUT it is the complete OTT drivel being spouted off not just here but on SM as a whole, is what does my head in.
