I have a feeling that if liverpool as a Club or Klopp wanted a midfielder, they would have gotten someone in now, all they are doing is to play along until the transfer deadline is gone and then they will come out and say they tried their best but they couldn't bring anyone in before the deadline. Consolation: Players who are injured are now returning to full fitness and ready to go.
Klopp is never a deadline day person when it comes to player transfer.
I guess we have rounded off, our signings with what we have in and maybe Philipps might push to go back on loan.

They agreed personal terms with Tchouameni’s agent weeks ago but the player wanted to go to Real Madrid. They tried to get the midfielder that they wanted but couldn’t get him. End of story.

I know that Leipzig are insistent on not letting Laimer go, but if it was silly money they’d have to think twice. We paid way over the odds for Ox when he only had a year on his contract and everyone seemed kind of okay with it. I don’t see why that isn’t a option when we are so desperately in need of a midfielder. Would they not rather overpay for the right player, a player who is vitally needed that could be the difference between success and failure, or go and spend 20-30 million on a Douglas Luiz or a Sander Berge? It doesn’t make sense to me.

You have to consider the player's side of things too, AW. It seems like Laimer's dead set on joining Bayern once his contract ends, and we can't force him to come even if we throw silly money at RBL.

In fairness we’re all paying silly money for fuel, electric, gas, mortgages and food during this cost of living crisis. The least the club could do is join the party and spend some silly money in the window.
