Could be a tidy little addition but defs more a Thiago type player than a Hendo/ fab cover which is what we needed more urgently. Elliot had a great game yesterday though but needs to improve defensively if he’s going to play on the right of a 3 as leaves Trent very exposed without Hendo there to cover him M.

But Arthur is the type of player we were looking for. We wanted a player who could backup and play the 6 and 8 positions. He's always been classified as a holding or defensive midfielder, with a very good passing range from short to long distances. Maybe he won't be as good as Fabs in the 6 slot, and play the 8 role differently from Hendo and Milner, but I'm convinced you get the ball faster upfield with a pass than running and dribbling with it! Even Thiago has always been considered a holding midfielder with great passing ability throughout his career. It's just that with us he is positioned further ahead, due to Klopp's system. Thiago has said that Klopp has taught him how to run with the ball. Maybe Klopp will do the same with Melo? Either way, we have Robbo, TAA, Diaz and Salah driving up the wings. and Carvalho and Elliott driving up and linking through the middle (I'm convinced that's their best position) . And Arthur pinging balls and linking up with the forwards, similarly to what Thiago does. Is he good enough? We can only find out after he starts playing for us.

Reminds me a bit of Lucas Leica from the little I’ve seen of him. Certainly a good option to have which improves our midfield overall.
