Question for Ed025. What do you think of gakpo mate, has he made you change your mind regarding his performances?

Genuine question but is that a wind up? Gakpo has 7 goal contributions in 15 games (many of which subs) where as Maupay is 1 goal and no assists in 23 games. I’m not professing that he is the next firmino but given the team he is coming into and our overall struggles I thought his performances have been quiet decent and his match last night was very strong, showed good hold up play and his link up play has been better than any of our other subs. no doubt he is still a raw talent but he seems a very intelligent player…. perhaps my rose tinted glasses are on, what’s other ppls thoughts so far?

Ed0025 I agree mate. Gakpo reminded me of both Maupay and Richarlison.

And then he scored in the premier league and I realised that’s where the resemblances stopped.

How can you possibly compare Richarlison with Bobby Ed025? Wow just wow. One has won just about everything in club football and the other has only won Coppa America in a Brazil team where he hardly featured. Scored nowhere near as many goals. I know whose trophy cabinet will take longer to dust mate.

Aye you do Ed mate, and as I say I usually find you’re pretty spot on in most cases.

You’ve never been a fan of Bobby either if I’m right? Gakpo looks to play a similar role for us so guess you just don’t appreciate that role?

Why is anybody judging a player after 4 months who has moved to a new league and a new country in the middle of the season? 6 goals in 15 games is a remarkable return in those circumstances.

Bobby has been on the bench all season nearly and he’s still scored more than Richarlison ??. Everton done well to get some money for him, a wooden one if ever there was. Ripping it up at Spurs ?.

Good evening ed25. Whose your favourite liverpool player and why?

{Ed025's Note - now or of all time digger ?, when my first son was born i named him Kevin after Kevin Keegan mate because i was working by lime st station and he came into our work caravan and had a cup of tea with the guys while waiting for his train to go to wembley to play in the home internationals in 78, really nice guy and insisted on a cup with no handle, i also loved ian rush, of todays side i would say Alisson...simply the best in the world..

Dunno why I’m bringing this on myself but…. honest opinion Nunez or Gakpo? Who has performed better since they have come in and who will be more successful? Personally Nunez has had moment where you get a glimpse of what he could be and that raw ability, but Gakpo looks more composed (to me) , better integration into the team and playing style and appears to have more technical ability ( At present) .

I think in fairness to modern day players with everybody on phones and social media if a player sat down with a group no doubt somebody would text r take pic and then they would be swapped. Although I'm sure there an element whose heads would be in the clouds and wouldn't be bothered.

Gakpo, some on here have been talking about him being a top class player. Far far too early imo. The same was said about Nunez only a few games ago. The jury is still out and hopefully next season both really kick on. Diaz when he first came in started better that both the other two.
They’re all shadows of Salah’s and Manes first season though, that’s the level needed if you want to be successful these days.

The best Liverpool player I’ve seen was probably Alan Hansen and my favourite was probably Sir Roger - first striker I really remember as a kid and a World Cup winner - he seemed like a giant when I was a kid.

My memories got me thinking though, who would you say was the best Everton player you’ve seen and again, who was your favourite?

No not me ed025 mate, we’ve got plenty of dross believe me, I’ve seen bright approach play a great touch and movement from Gakpo plus a few goals, Bobby has been brilliant for us, and my original comment is based on your opinion the richarlson is a better player, that’s complete nonsense mate, if that’s your opinion that’s fine, just like arseholes everyone has one, but some of your replies give off more than a whiff of arrogance on that particular opinion, sort of passing it off as fact.

{Ed025's Note - its only my take on things waro, i dont get Gakpo at all mate and have never been a bobby fan, i always seen him as "busy doing nothing" but made the odd flick or back heel that created a wow factor...but most of the time he was fairly anonymous, im not saying everyone agree with me..

As hopeless as ed25 seems to think Gakpo is, he has 7 G/ A in 15 games.

That's to go with 27 G/ A in 20 games in Holland and 6 G/ A in 10 international games before his transfer.

All up he's 40 G/ A in 45 games

Gakpo's cement ain't dry yet. And my problem with these assessments of players is that they come across so final. A headless chicken has somehow chanced himself to 40 goals and assists this season?

That's a bit rough for a young player who is settling into a new team, new style, new country, new position.

I get the opinion side of things, and you're fine to yours ed. But it's a bit morbid and wildly out of context for his situation and what he has actually achieved in the game so far.

I think you may be wrong about Cody Ed 25,just like you are wrong about the yr you met Keegan. He left the reds in 77 mate.
I was bought up in the half the house support the reds, the other half the blues mate.
Thought latchford was a B Tech David Johnson, pal. Though you could do with either at the moment. Just being honest.

I heard David Johnson was one of the funniest blokes ever, mate and is Scouse humour was loved on the after Dinner speech circuits.
As for comparing him and Latch, both strong old fashioned front men, but if they showed you their medals? Only one winner. ed25 - I totally understand stats is just part of the story. But, in Gakpo's case, you've used "headless Chicken", "bloody awful", "a chancer" and "doesn't know what position to play" to describe him which I think is really reckless and unfair.

No player in the history of the game at that level has that many goals and assists in a season by being a bloody awful headless chicken mate.
