My guess is the next Liverpool manager is already done and dusted. You don't lose all the back room staff and the DOF unless the incoming manager wants to bring his own team in.

Acered

1.) 27 Jan 2024 15:06:16
I ve already accepted Acered. They were impressed by my commentary on here to get in touch in the first place then I blew them away with my "I'm never wrong" presentation.

Ed001 will be my assistant manager and head of analysis. Sgynwa is his assistant.

Ed002 will be DOF. He will always be in a shadow so we never find out who he is. But he ll have the whole thing running like clockwork.

Negative Walter will be medic. What do you mean he'll be two years out? It's a hamstring injury.

Ed25, first team coach. Also never wrong.

Lukyanyew, head of recruitment. You know why

Dream team assembled!

2.) 27 Jan 2024 18:56:49
Think I may have it in the bag - just got my first coaching role, started late December. Clearly been making waves.

3.) 27 Jan 2024 23:12:58
The Sporting manager or Alonso are the ones who seem to fit the bill. FSG have chosen their model, and that need's to be continued with a manager that develops young players.

Considering I was desperate for us to sign Caicedo, who i still think will come good at some point, I am much happier seeing players like Quansah and Bradley coming through than in spending 115m on a player who may well not settle. I am sold on FSG's approach, provided we keep developing top young talent AND giving them opportunities to actually play for the first team. Quansah and Bradley look like they could go to the very top, and nothing makes me happier in football than seeing these youngsters thrive.

4.) 28 Jan 2024 01:40:31
Lol love it Davey, what a team.

5.) 28 Jan 2024 02:11:04
Davey - you need a throw in coach and I'm your man!

6.) 28 Jan 2024 05:11:10
While I did love a role at the club, we may very well last shorter than Roy Hodgson! Let’s love our club and adhere to a proverb I hear in where I live: there’s beauty in distance ?.

18 Jan 2023 19:52:51
We have the new Pedro on our hands.

Acered

1.) 18 Jan 2023 20:08:57
The former Barcelona and Chelsea winger? Who?

2.) 18 Jan 2023 20:09:29
The liberator or the magnanimous.

3.) 18 Jan 2023 20:49:32
The guy from Napoleon Dynamite?

4.) 19 Jan 2023 07:50:31
If vote for him VVVV.

5.) 19 Jan 2023 09:25:27
To be fair, I’d vote for him too Burkey.

12 Jan 2019 19:06:17
We need a new cb. Lovren now has injury issues and Matip is not the long term solution. Why not go in big for de ligt that would give us the option of a back three ie Gomez Del ligt Vvd with trent and Robbo as wing backs. It seems senseless to wait just 4 months when we know we will need to buy for next season. Btw De ligt would be my choice but if we can't get him someone of that quality. It also gives the likes of Hoever time to learn. He will only be 21 in 5 years.

Acered

{Ed002's Note - De Ligt will not be moving to Liverpool and I doubt they have the money available to buy him.}

1.) 12 Jan 2019 19:41:47
This defence is the best defence in the premier league for years and years for any team and you think we need to make changes?

2.) 12 Jan 2019 20:05:12
We’ve got 1 first team RB and today had 1 fully fit CB Mikey. Gomez and Matip are both yet to go a season uninjured for LFC and Lovren is a liability.

Yes we are keeping lots of clean sheets, but we very clearly need some new blood too.

3.) 12 Jan 2019 20:07:41
We already have a world class defender in Van Dijk and a potential world class defender in Gomez, why would we spend a fortune on a player to sit on the bench?

4.) 12 Jan 2019 20:10:12
1) We don't play a back 3

2) When Gomez is fit, he has to play. As does VVD (obviously)

3) De Ligt won't sign for anyone to sit on the bench

4) I don't see what the commotion is about De Ligt. He's looked rather ordinary when I've seen him. But I have to admit, he can't be a full international and Ajax captain at 19 without merit. I just haven't witnessed it myself.

5) See 1, 2 and 3.

5.) 12 Jan 2019 20:18:23
We have money if needs be and we have players who can be sold so I would not worry about money if klopp needs it I think he will get backed no matter what van dijk and Allison prove that.

6.) 12 Jan 2019 20:29:30
I think he more means about how injury prone the other 3,are bar vvd! It’s frustrating how soft and fragile they are I have to agree although play gomez with vvd when fit.

7.) 12 Jan 2019 20:34:58
Totally Jay.

8.) 12 Jan 2019 22:14:40
We have the best 2 center backs in the prem in VVD and Gomez why go out and get another, the back ups are Ok in Matip and Lovren, don't panic.

All will be good in a few weeks.

9.) 12 Jan 2019 23:33:03
So, buy like 100 CBs in case they all get injured?

10.) 12 Jan 2019 23:37:32
Play a back 3 when we have about 75% possession in most games? God give me strength, good night and well done for getting the tough 3 points on offer today.

11.) 12 Jan 2019 23:55:58
We need a backup which will remain fit but it isn’t going to be a top cb like de legit.

Hopefully some of the younger players can make that step up next year. Maybe Phillips or Hoever. Maybe both.

12.) 13 Jan 2019 01:54:42
Haha man can some of ya hear yourselves!? So basically we need someone who is good enough, fit enough, has wolverine powers of recovery and will be happy sitting on the bench.

13.) 13 Jan 2019 02:36:27
Who's to say if we were to buy another CB that he'd be fit all season anyway? All teams have certain areas of the pitch that have injuries to more than 1 player at a time. It happens. None of them are long term and the only times we have moved to a back 3 with klopp is in the dying stages of games to try and hang on to a win. Gomez's broken leg was an unlucky impact injury and not muscular, vvd hasn't made it through a full season with us yet either (touch wood he does) . We are not city who can buy world class players to sit on the bench and find a convoluted way of offsetting it to escape ffp. And we have the best defense in the league and still had a clean sheet with a midfielder playing there. We are in good shape.

14.) 13 Jan 2019 03:11:29
Gomez, lovren and matip both have injury concerns. We only have one fit and top cb.

15.) 13 Jan 2019 08:19:20
Van Dijk isn’t bullet proof like some are making out, his injury record at Saints wasn’t great.

16.) 13 Jan 2019 13:31:05
Angus - these are the challenges of a season. An injury crisis would have been juat one fit CB for the rest of the season. Then ok, maybe u look at a solution then.

17.) 13 Jan 2019 14:18:59
Personally, I think we should take a punt on Lloyd Kelly, he’s a really good English prospect and can play left back or centre back very comfortably. He is very rarely found wanting and dominates players much older than himself.

18.) 14 Jan 2019 06:26:54
I agree FMS. I'd put a bid in for Lloyd Kelly. If we get him then ship out Moreno since he has "many offers" and apparently wants to leave for more football, which is fair.

Kelly has this VVD calmness/ cool domeanor to him and is very skillful. Could almost fill in as a winger in an old school 4-4-2. Not that we'd need but he looks like a very versatile and mature young player. I'd take him for the right price!

21 Nov 2018 18:48:11
Probably a question for ed1. Warlock has always waxed lyrical about clyne since his days at palace and there are whispers that Cardiff would be looking to take him in the January TW. How would they fund that type of transfer?

Acered

{Ed001's Note - they have a decent amount of money and Clyne would not be that expensive as we could do with getting his wages off the books.}

1.) 21 Nov 2018 19:10:12
Thanks Ed1 Do you think it will happen?

{Ed001's Note - I certainly expect him to leave and his options are limited, so it seems the most likely move for him right now.}

2.) 22 Nov 2018 09:25:03
Thought Leicester were also interested in Clyne right? And i hope we get a sale than another loan for every Tom, Dick and Harry in our squad that has no future at the club. Hopefully a BPL side with a 12-15 million pound bid comes in and takes Clyne off our hands.

3.) 22 Nov 2018 13:24:08
He's hardly played for about a year and a half, if we're hoping to get any money for him, it won't be much. The saving is in his wages, and giving him a chance to continue his career.

31 Dec 2017 16:49:44

Any news on Baj anyone? Would be great to see him back again.

Acered

1.) 13 Dec 2023 17:47:06
Jürgen said he needs to grow into his body and it will take a lot of time as he is only a boy. I remember some posters earlier in the year saying he should be playing every game, Buffoons.

2.) 13 Dec 2023 19:21:18
Perhaps those people know better than Klopp ?.

3.) 13 Dec 2023 20:20:15
Dont think anyone said that, people were justifiably excited about a top kid coming through that's all.

4.) 13 Dec 2023 22:21:24
I think we overplayed him last season due to having a Midfield with the mobility of the front row of Mecca Bingo.
That’s where the injuries probably came from. Let him grow into the Baller we know he’s going to be.

05 Aug 2023 20:34:32
Forget the money side of things the numbers in and out makes no sense. Fabs, keita, Bobby ox, Milner one of our leaders and Hendo our captain that's 6 out and just 2 in. Thiago won't play more than 6 games on the trot. Our defense is not good enough to make a challenge. As things stand we are two injuries away from having a crap season . We need 2 or3 quality signings to complete. Work to do in the next couple of weeks.

Acered

1.) 05 Aug 2023 21:30:30
7 if you count Melo.

2.) 05 Aug 2023 21:31:29
Oh an Carvalho.

3.) 05 Aug 2023 21:23:31
You got to think something is in the works other than Lavia

Goretzka, kimmich or wirtz level signing for the midfield and a bit of young versatility like Hickey, Geertruida or Daniel Beukers and I’d be almost happy but think that’s still 1 short

Mac alister and szbozslai though are great additions in my mind so far.

4.) 05 Aug 2023 21:25:56
You forgot to add tactics to ya list.

5.) 05 Aug 2023 21:46:24
Recruitment sort of fell off a cliff when Michael Edwards first left the club. I think he’s back now, as Sporting Director (? ) but then what’s Schmadke’s role?

Either way, I think recruitment has deteriorated. I like Diaz, Konate, Jota, Gakpo.

I’m yet to be convinced with Nunez.

But it seems like a bit of a scattergun approach. Why do we need so many right footed left wingers?

They’re good players, don’t get me wrong, but where’s the strategy?

6.) 05 Aug 2023 21:46:24

7.) 05 Aug 2023 22:05:49
I can half understand the numbers argument but we had ten CM's last season and how many of them REALLY contributed. i know people won't agree but from where we are from the start of last season do Baj and Clark not replace Ox and Keita? millie, fab nd hendo will be replaced with Dom, Gary and Lavia. Were stronger than last year in midfield cos Jones/ Harvey are another year on but i'd counter that by saying we could have been even stronger. The Gvardiol ones a killer because he would have chose us over City allday and for two years a signing like him was actually realistic but alas it seems like we've settled back into"lfc the poor relative mode"which is so sad. We climbed the mountain nd just had to sustain it but instead we let ourselves be dragged back in by our rivals.

8.) 05 Aug 2023 22:18:54
Not sure what gave you the idea that Edwards is back at the club Ron.

9.) 05 Aug 2023 22:31:11
It’s not good enough. We had such a bad season and this is the response.
It’s just a complete disaster. I can see we’ve began blaming the Saudis already.

There’s something fundamentally wrong at the minute, I cannot believe we’re going to start this season with no recognised Defensive Midfielder.

Exact same mistakes as last summer.

10.) 05 Aug 2023 23:12:26
Could be wrong Something Red. Not sure if there’s anything in it.

11.) 05 Aug 2023 23:56:50
Time to sack Klopp and the board. Bring back Ayre, Rodgers and Buvac as the dream team I say. Can't believe the club disbanded the world class midfield from last season which no true fan wished for (except Harry)

12.) 06 Aug 2023 02:15:41
If this transfer policy continues we’ll be playing 5 a side next season.

13.) 06 Aug 2023 02:35:08
Dear oh dear.

14.) 06 Aug 2023 03:05:48
@LiverpoolFC8, it can’t be the “exact same” as last season - we had a defensive midfielder last season.

15.) 06 Aug 2023 06:48:15
Just outscore every team we play ??.

16.) 06 Aug 2023 07:26:32
Agree with LFC8.we are making the same mistakes AGAIN this year

All the signs point to a sense of stubbornness is holding us back again this window.

We might as well copy and paste most of the written comments from this chat, from the past season into this chat for the upcoming season

I'm also seeing another Melo type signing on deadline day, just this time it will probably be an injury prone defender. wonder if Maguire will be available on deadline day

It's going to be a long season if we don't act quickly.

17.) 06 Aug 2023 08:08:11
What are the same mistakes? Serious question.

Not buying anybody?

Not getting rid of dead wood?

It’s nothing like last years window, and, unlike last year’s window, this one is still open. Get a grip.

18.) 06 Aug 2023 08:43:44
Last season our midfield consisted of 4 ageing players (Hendo, Milner, Thiago, Fabinho) who all struggled with the intensity, 3 permanently injured players (Keita, Ox and Arthur), and 3 relatively inexperienced youngsters (Jones, Bajetic and Elliot) .

We lacked midfielders that had both the the energy and experience required for a high press system (think Gini, Hendo and Fabinho in their prime), hence we kept conceding goals until we changed our shape.

This year MacAllister, Szoboslai are solid additions, Jones, Elliott and Bajectic have another year under their belts, and Trent can also drop into midfield if required. That's 6 players with a mix of youth and PL experience (or equivalent) which is more than we can say in 2022, even if our new midfield may only be at peak in another year or two.

What we need to round it now out is a CDM for balance, and some leadership to make it gel (hence why I'm gutted Hendo left, but hopefully Trent, Alexis or Thiago can step up) .

19.) 06 Aug 2023 09:34:50
But we're still Liverpool. And that's why we watch, isn't it?

20.) 06 Aug 2023 09:37:25
We definitely need one more midfielder SGRed and Thiago to stay fit. That might be ok for midfield, although I do have my doubts about Elliott in midfield and Jones to stay consistent.

It’s going to be interesting tho, seeing how it all pans out. On the front foot when Liverpool have the ball will be fun, watching Trent basically getting a free role to wander and create havoc? Awesome ?
Watching us trying to defend a massive hole in our defence? Might not be so much fun ?.

21.) 06 Aug 2023 11:27:13
If it’s any comfort, no matter how bad things may look, I did happen to see United have bought another clown keeper, so we could rack up a cricket score against them if we just make sure we get it on target.

22.) 06 Aug 2023 12:05:32
I don't really get the fun part. Have you seen how quickly our heads drop when we get carved up so easily? No matter how good our frontline is, the attacking confidence will dry up if we are consistently leaving the back door wide open like last season.

23.) 06 Aug 2023 12:42:53
Same mistakes - leaving ourselves short.

Lack of squad depth. Lack of quality.
Transfer Window opened around 8 week ago and the Midfield/ Defence still isn’t ready.

Last game of pre season tomorrow, you think we’re ready for the season WDW?

Or by October we just burying our head in the sand again and blaming the “hangover” from 2 seasons ago.

24.) 06 Aug 2023 13:29:57
Ditto what LFC8 said above.

Dejan vu from last season. only difference is that this season its our defense that needs improvement, last season was our midfield.

25.) 06 Aug 2023 13:47:49
I agree Rover, Thiago's fitness will be important because besides him and Mac Allister, there isn't a ton of experience in the midfield for the biggest matches.

Also, while I like the look of Lavia, I'm not 100% convinced he's experienced enough to play as a sole CDM in a 4-3-3 setup (especially if Trent pushes forward instead of tucking in) and he'll be very exposed as a young lad. I really feel our current crop of midfielders would be more suited to a double pivot (which all of Thiago, Alexis, Jones or Trent are capable of doing) and we'd still have plenty in attack with a fantastic lineup of forwards to pick from.

For the Chelsea game, I'd be keen to see MacAllister and Trent start there with Gomez at RB. and a front 4 of Diaz LW, Gakpo at 10, Jota upfront and Salah RW.

26.) 06 Aug 2023 15:14:45
I forgot the transfer window is now shut sad times.

27.) 06 Aug 2023 15:43:20
Glengormie, I believe it's open until the 1st September.

28.) 07 Aug 2023 08:07:35
Glengormie, you would think so with all the desperate stuff you read on here. The club don’t seem as desperate, tho. Could it be that they know and are acting like the window still has about a month to go? Not sure.

09 Jul 2023 19:48:41
Seriously look at our front line Salah., Nunez, Jota Diaz and Gakpo doak our midfield Mac, slob, Trent fabs, Hendo, Curtis, Harvey, Baj and this is not to mention the young lads coming through GK Ali without a doubt. our issue is in defense matip and Gomez unfortunately not good enough anymore so we have Robbo, konate and vvd that leaves Bradley, Ramsay and Tamis. It seem to me where we need strengthening.

Acered

1.) 09 Jul 2023 20:17:46
Ramsay away on loan mate.

2.) 09 Jul 2023 20:31:29
Thing is Acered - two weeks ago we needed strengthening in midfield. We are getting there, give it a chance - the transfer window is still open.

3.) 09 Jul 2023 22:32:36
To be fair to Sancho - and I hate defending MU players - he scored a goal every 3 games or so for BD so he’s obviously not a bad player. MU have been a mess for years really, they just bought him without any kind of plan to get the best out of him. We obviously don’t need players in that position but if we could get him for a bargain price then I’d give him a go.

4.) 10 Jul 2023 07:24:12
Wrong thread there obviously ha ha.

29 Jun 2023 19:44:17
This is imho I would say these players would be in the starting 11 Ali, konate, robbo, Trent, Mac A, Salah, Gakpo, Darwin, Diaz outside of that we have Jota, vvd, Harvey, fabs, Hendo, Ramsey, Conor, Bajectic matiip, Gomez, although I would probably add Bajectic to the starting line up so that only leaves one space who would that be?

Acered

1.) 29 Jun 2023 19:56:19
Captain Bucky O’hare.

2.) 29 Jun 2023 20:12:33
Semi explains it all.

3.) 29 Jun 2023 20:33:56
We playing with a front 4 or is one of Salah, Nunez, Gakpo or Diaz playing centre half.

4.) 29 Jun 2023 20:35:09
Have Thiago and Curtis left then?

5.) 29 Jun 2023 21:10:23
Ramsey has been loaned to Preston buddy.

6.) 29 Jun 2023 21:35:20
Must be only playing with one CB this season :)

7.) 29 Jun 2023 21:35:42
Jones red meant Bradley’Wdw injury prone and not good enough and jk23 work it out.

8.) 29 Jun 2023 21:45:59
Is FM2024 on your Xmas list?

9.) 29 Jun 2023 21:50:16
Thiago.

10.) 29 Jun 2023 22:00:26
Acered I was trying to work it out so that’s why I asked.

I’m all for a front 4. Attack is the best defence but not sure on the one centre half.

11.) 30 Jun 2023 00:09:13
Bajcetic in starting line up? He's already having problems with his knees and did anyone see the report that ACL injuries are now the most common serious injury among teenagers, why? Because there bodies are still developing and growin.

12.) 30 Jun 2023 05:15:36
Trust us - signing teenagers - just typically poor planning on FSG’s part ……….

13.) 30 Jun 2023 07:59:05
Terrible planning WDW. We should look at signing older players whos kness are fully developed. i've heard Roberto Carlos has wonderful knees and is keen to make a comeback.

14.) 30 Jun 2023 08:27:49
FSG are signing players with knees?
I'm shocked and outraged!

15.) 30 Jun 2023 08:27:49
FSG are signing players with knees?

16.) 30 Jun 2023 10:45:43
Nice one Marty, the idea of checking for fully developed knees made me laugh ?.

17.) 30 Jun 2023 19:54:06
Virg gets in and Darwin would be benched for me.

26 Jun 2023 19:29:39
Fabs started off as a right back not sure why we don't bring him back as a defender and that would leave room for another midfielder.

Acered

1.) 26 Jun 2023 19:53:54
Not fast enough for modern role.

2.) 26 Jun 2023 20:35:57
OP, Fab has not played RB in literaly years so not sure how you came up with this idea.

Most importantly, we are complaining about Fab's legs going or gone yet you want to play him at RB where he literally needs his legs to go up and down the pitch? Again, I don't get it, bro.

3.) 26 Jun 2023 20:38:16
As a fullback bombing up and down the line not a chance but in the role Trent plays where he ticks in he could work there. Very surprised we didn’t go for Timber seeing as he can do that role and cover for Konate too.

4.) 27 Jun 2023 14:07:47
OneKiss, I don't rate Timber, man. Just my opinion.
