Eds any truth in sacko going to stoke?

{Ed002's Note - Try the search engine please.}

1.) 20 Jul 2017 22:18:06
Fair comment.

2.) 22 Jul 2017 12:47:00
And if the search engine doesn't work, try searching for Sakho instead xD
Makes me mad to see 'fans' still get our players names wrong 😒.

01 Jun 2017 21:17:10
The saga with RS from Fulham I'm totally ok with if he decided to choose spurs instead of us then good luck to him anything else? s need to be asked!

1.) 01 Jun 2017 21:24:46
We only offered him the chance of under 23 football next season and some cup runs, Spurs have told him he will be competing for a first team spot.

2.) 01 Jun 2017 21:41:01
That the real macca? Glad your back if this is the real macca!

3.) 01 Jun 2017 21:43:32
Welcome back macca.

4.) 01 Jun 2017 21:43:34
The big man is back is it true ed?

{Ed025's Note - seems that way belfast..

5.) 01 Jun 2017 21:45:28
so yet again we screwed up .

6.) 01 Jun 2017 21:46:51
Any word on clynes future macca and the right back position.? Lacking serious quaility in both wing back positions. Robertson will just add to the problems.

7.) 01 Jun 2017 21:47:41
Also 17 year old lad either staying in London or uprooting, you know it makes sense for him to stay.

8.) 01 Jun 2017 21:48:31
Yep that's the real Macca.

9.) 01 Jun 2017 21:48:32

So good to see you posting again mate.

Anything you can add to the transfer news?

All the best.

10.) 01 Jun 2017 22:15:31
Thanks for your reply Macca hope your keeping well and business is good.

11.) 02 Jun 2017 09:38:54
Finally, Liverpool actually tell a player their plan honestly. Good news for the future, better players join us knowing where they stand and are happy and comfortable with it then lying to everyone about being our first choice superstars and having them moaning on the bench all season.

21 May 2017 10:19:15
Hi Eds do you know if we still hold any interest in Ante coric? With couts looking like he will play in a more central midfield role coric would fit that left side? It may be someone would have to leave for this to happen though plus the fact as I understand klopp has been impressed with Grujic and desire to get back to full fitness so we would have more than enough midfielders.

{Ed002's Note - Ante Coric of Dinamo Zagreb is destined for an excellent career if he doesn't move too early as he still has much growing up to do - but Newcastle, Chelsea, Benfica, Porto, Liverpool, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Porto, Benfica, Spurs and Manchester City are very keen - so pretty much everyone and his dog. His club are aware of this interest and the tentative interest of other sides, such as Everton, Udinese, Crystal Palace and West Ham over the past two years. He has some difficulties ;ast year but they were eased by Ivaylo Petev arriving. Following an enquiry from Newcastle in January the club offered and he signed a new contract.}

1.) 21 May 2017 12:10:45
Thanks Ed2.

2.) 21 May 2017 19:49:46
Ed what do you think of him as a player? I recently read a report saying that he doesn't pull his weight and work hard but likes to depend on his talent. It also mentioned that the club would like rid at a price quoted lesser than the previous year.
Thanks Ed!

{Ed002's Note - A lot is expected of him but he has not had the best of relationships with a previous manager and two players.}

30 Apr 2017 09:07:41
Spurs and Liverpool supposed to be looking at Harry McGuire of Hull. At only 24 years old could be a good shout.

1.) 30 Apr 2017 09:16:09
I like Maguire, similar standard to the lad at Burnley but without the massive pricetag, yet.

2.) 30 Apr 2017 09:52:26
Maguire is the one for me. I posted about him a few weeks ago and all the evidence was highlighted on MOTD last night.

His reading of the game and his ability to be in the right place are exceptional - just what we need.

{Ed001's Note - MOTD? Says it all, their analysis is lacking in any substance without Hansen. He was under no pressure at all yesterday, Palace were dreadful, he did the same thing he does every week, charge out with the ball, except Palace just stood and watched so he could take his time and pick a pass. Usually he is pressured and gives the ball away. He is not top class at all. I would rather go for genuine left sided centre backs in Mee or Gibson personally. Neither are MOTD highlight reel players, but both are better defenders.}

3.) 30 Apr 2017 10:17:57
I understand what you mean Eds1 but at only 24 he has time on his side. Funnily enough I was in Greece about 5 years ago and this chap said to look out for young up and coming defender his name was Ben mee.

{Ed001's Note - he is just not quite good enough, nor does he have the potential to go much further, imo. He is great for Hull, but he lacks the pace to work in a high line, where he would be exposed and be shown up as the average defender he actually is.}

4.) 30 Apr 2017 11:45:10
I'd say he was better than Keane because he actually looks like he can play football and defend.

5.) 30 Apr 2017 12:27:04
Hi ed 001Hull were playing Southampton not Palace yesterday

Agree Maguire is not top class but I think it shows that with good coaching ( silva) you can make defenders better. still hope for Loren to be decent as part of a revamped back line at LFC.

{Ed001's Note - shows how poor they were that I never remembered that when I sat and watched it! Apologies though you are correct, it was Saints that were dreadful. No idea why I said Palace.}

6.) 30 Apr 2017 15:15:30
Maguire is too slow and not good enough for LFC. I doubt whether Keane is either but then he idea of spending 50 mil on VVD worries me.

We should shop in Italy for def, Romagnoli or Rugani prob out of reach but the Italians do know how to def!

7.) 30 Apr 2017 15:17:25
If Spurs are looking to sign him, odds are Wimmer will be off. So I'd go after him!

8.) 30 Apr 2017 18:25:54
Wimmer is a terrible defender, there's a reason Spurs would be happy to get shot of him, he's physical weak, poor in the air and has no positional sense.

9.) 30 Apr 2017 20:35:33
Haven't MotD previously had a moan about Maguire drifting up the pitch and losing the ball too much?

10.) 01 May 2017 11:10:23
Maguire? Really? Clearly, people don't watch games fully anymore and allow the "pundits" to watch them and just parrot their conclusions by picking and choosing where to say he was good and leave out his dreadful mistakes. I couldn't believe it myself.

Maguire is bang awful. Slow as a slug, can't turn, no pace nor positional sense, would be all at sea in a high defensive line system like the one we play. Sheesh! The only English defender I would take is Gibson as he is top class.

11.) 01 May 2017 14:51:29
I think Wimmer is class. No shame in being behind Alderweireld and Vertonghen in the pecking order!

He is certainly not weak or poor in the air. Good on the ball as well. My only concern would be his pace (or lack of it) .

30 Dec 2016 14:04:23
Being reported in Italy that lucas has had a medical and that the loan has an option to buy.

1.) 30 Dec 2016 14:17:03
I think he's out of contract in May anyway, so there would be no need for an option to buy?

2.) 30 Dec 2016 15:53:32
I reported this last week on the rumor page and no one believed it as usual. Klopp was asked about Lucas and he rrrspinded with no decision has been made YET. I expect the lad to move in January.

3.) 30 Dec 2016 16:37:13
Not such a wise decision in my opinion. He's a good squad player and a player we will most likely need in the run in that we have next month. All sorts of games in every competition so he would play a valuable part of that but we are loaning him out? The timing really baffles me, should have just let him go in the summer then.

4.) 30 Dec 2016 17:10:49
James Pearce is usually reliable and tweeted Lucas contract actually runs until the summer of 2018, not this upcoming summer.

5.) 30 Dec 2016 17:19:28
It's clear that he's unable to push for a place in our midfield with Henderson and Stewart apparently preferred by Klopp in that position. It could be a sign that Joe Gomez is nearing a return if Klopp is prepared to let Lucas go in January, and that's good news to me.

It will be a sad day when he goes but I think it's probably the best for both parties if he moves on so he can play more regularly and Liverpool can start playing our youngsters in this role, and with Henderson asserting himself as captain, Milner and Matip I say we have enough leaders in the dressing room at this moment in time.

What do you think Ed001?

6.) 30 Dec 2016 17:38:49
It is nothing to do with other players and everything to do with his attitude and prior service. It is felt he deserves the opportunity to play regularly if he wants to go. While he does not really want to leave Liverpool, he does want regular first team football.

Whichever way he decides is fine by me, I am in full agreement that he has earnt the right to do what is best for him.

7.) 30 Dec 2016 19:16:58
Great fella but average footballer. Be sad to see him go for his influence in the dressing room rather than his play on the pitch. Good luck to him I really hope it works out.

{Ed001's Note - that is why he should go, ungrateful people like you can't even just wish him well without a dig.}

8.) 30 Dec 2016 19:37:23
My point of view is to let him leave for his career. Love the guy and how he came through the tough times the fans gave him. Let him thrive in Italy and good luck to him

9.) 31 Dec 2016 00:40:50
I would love it if he just saw out the season with us - guys like him are priceless when it comes to a tilt at the title and IF we were to win it, he would be hugely deserving of a winners medal for his commitment and attitude in the face of those who felt he wasn't fit to wear the shirt. Lucas, as far as I am concerned, is a Liverpool player through and through and I would be sorry to see him go.

10.) 31 Dec 2016 10:24:54
Good luck to the lad in all his future endeavours. With his his contract running out at the end of June he deserves it. In many respects he has been the perfect professional, playing whenever and wherever he has been needed. Many could learn a thing or two from his selfless attitude. Were he to stay with us he would have increasingly limited chances in both midfield and defence AND he really should be playing weekly somewhere. I'll probably watch whatever football he plays when I get a chance wherever he goes because he has been faultless in his support of us and the club we adore. He deserves ouyr support.

11.) 31 Dec 2016 10:32:19
Great servant for the club, for me before his bad injury a few seasons ago against chelsea he was one of our best players in my opinion and felt he would succeed gerrard as captain some day, alas it didn't happen. But a great player for us over 10 years, he had a tough start to life at anfield but changed his game and became a real talented player. If im not mistaken he is the last surviving player from rafa's reign. Hope he does what is best for him. Would love to see him stay until the end of the season but if he does go ill be happy for him. YNWA Lucas Leiva.

12.) 31 Dec 2016 11:15:00
Spot on Ed001. He has earned the right to choose and has been a great servant. I suspect that it is the right time, both for him to keep playing and for LFC to open up room for Gomez and possibly Stewart.
Also agree that he's been way better than average as a player.

13.) 31 Dec 2016 11:36:15
Still remember the moment Lucas broke Yaya Toure in 2011. Toure was on a high from the previous season and set off on one of his trademark dribbles and Lucas just stepped across him, eased him out of it, and set off in the other direction with the ball.

Toure went on to have a fairly indifferent season. Coincidence? I think not. He was probably haunted by the image of a Brazilian midfielder half his size outmuscling him for the rest of the season. (This is slightly tongue in cheek, btw)

Personally I'd be looking to keep Lucas if I were in charge because whilst Hendo hasn't let us down in that position, he has a bit of room to improve defensively and Can's not really got the head for the "pivot" position in our midfield. So I'd like to see us have the option of Lucas' experience to call on, especially when we're in Europe next season. But as Ed001 says, he's earned the right to choose to play regular football if he wants and needs to.

14.) 01 Jan 2017 08:29:12
Well said Ed01,i wish Lucas all the best.

Good performance poor result wasn't a pen imo but the ref had a poor game through out. Said to my boy the chance with mane not squaring the ball could cost us. Weird seeing big Sam on their bench, how do you feel about the appointment Ed25?

{Ed025's Note - im not a fan to be honest ace, you
let us off the hook big time and klopp even though im a massive fan messed up in a big way, we were very lucky mate but to be fair i cant remember pickford making a save in the match..

1.) 10 Dec 2017 22:10:52
Neither can I remember Migs making a save either, Ed. Klopp did nothing wrong iMO. We got the lead and had Sadio not become a selfish snowflake, it would have been 2-0 and then, you would have been buried. That is not Klopp's fault as I'm sure he did not instruct Mane to do that. Also, even a near reserve LFC side bossed your lot BUT that is not saying much as Big Scam will be poison for your lot and you agreed w/ that in the past, with the dinosaur/ stone age footie he will have you playing. The less said about the penalty, the better, IMO. All in all, you can't win them all so we take the positives. Our squad rotation is working well, we are 4th, 2 off 3rd and 5 off 2nd so we move on to WBA.

{Ed025's Note - if your happy with a draw at home to everton then who am i to argue mate..

2.) 10 Dec 2017 22:47:44
Ed25, we had a bit of banter when mane “assaulted” ederson against Citeh, but I will admit that was a penalty all day la, the only place Calvert lewin was going was onto Anfield road and into Everpool for a burger and chips and and dopey lump Lovren just had to push him in the back right in front of the ref, stone Waller for me la

However, it may be a blessing I disguise for us cos Klopp surely must be thinking of a CB in January

Also, did anyone else wonder why Robertson kept ending up in central midfield or was it just me?

Fair result for me, it’s all well and good having 75% possession, but if you don’t convert your chances, that’s down to the opposition defending well against what is in front of them.

{Ed025's Note - it was a very soft penalty KR and lovren had no need to make contact at all, i dont know about a fair result though mate if it had been a boxing match it would have been stopped at half time..

3.) 10 Dec 2017 23:00:48
Fair comment ed25 Everton defended well.

4.) 11 Dec 2017 08:25:29
Ed25, trust me, I am not happy w/ a draw vs any team at home under any circumstances so be it Everton or not, don't care who it is against. I'm disappointed with the result and with Mane's conduct. Not surprised that Everton defended with their lives as that is what Big Scam does well. However, we had a chance to make it 2-0 and should have banked it BUT Mane did a boo-boo. You need to thank him for that. We move on to the next game and nothing more.

{Ed025's Note - games like that happen in football brover, liverpool are great and everton are crap= a draw...its just the way it is mate..

03 Dec 2017 09:17:07
Bobby just seems to get better each season. Integral to the way we play I'm surprised that with interest in couts and salah I've yet to hear anything in regards to Bobby. Btw his fake shirt take off yesterday was class.

1.) 03 Dec 2017 10:03:45
I think PSG were interested a year ago but aside from that, like you I've heard nothing! Mad. He is on the edge of world class at times and still only 25/ 26 i think.

2.) 03 Dec 2017 10:58:34
Bobbie turned a corner the day BR got sacked and Klopp was hired. He has been getting better ever since and frankly, he is our most important player. I know Salah scores goals and that is awesome. However there is NO Salah or Mane or even Ox, w/ o the very rare skill set that Bobbie possesses. Even Pep admires Firmino (Ed01 said so, not me) . I hope he gets better and we can get players in to play at his level in other critical positions. Salah, Naby and Mane are a decent start to that end.

3.) 03 Dec 2017 11:29:13
Sanchez would be exceptional for me. Just make an enquiry reds, he almost free.

4.) 03 Dec 2017 12:34:01
Br I think you're being a bit harsh on Salah and Mane by saying there is no them without Bobby. Salah and Mane are both exceptionally good players with or without Firmino. They do seem to compliment each other extremely well though as a 3.

31 Oct 2017 12:20:59
If Lovren is picked tomorrow night I hope all Liverpoool supporters get behind him and I mean all. Some of the stuff that is emerging is just vile and disgusting from what must be the dregs of society.

1.) 31 Oct 2017 12:58:49
I still have faith in lovren! Let's be honest, we have only conceded three goals at anfield this season (I think)

{Ed025's Note - but 15 away superred, thats whats known as blind faith mate..

2.) 31 Oct 2017 13:07:15
Gotta burst my bubble ed025! He has been woeful at times but has looked decent at times also.

{Ed025's Note - he looked southampton superred, but since being at liverpool he has resembled mr bean for me mate..

3.) 31 Oct 2017 13:11:52
Still no need for death threats pathetic human beings.

{Ed025's Note - lowest of the low kloppers..

4.) 31 Oct 2017 13:17:16
I Think we can sign some defenders as backup options from Everton when they get relegated.

{Ed025's Note - would you really want any Eka...except for coleman they are all pants mate..

5.) 31 Oct 2017 13:22:42
If Everton get relegated I will post a pic of me and my bird banging in Everton shirts. Not going to happen.

{Ed025's Note - i hope we get relegated now..

6.) 31 Oct 2017 13:26:30
Ed025 you would rather watch Chesterfield and morcombe mate. Trust me

7.) 31 Oct 2017 13:27:53
Internet tough guys, doubt any of them would dare walk up to Lovren let alone threaten him or his family, bunch of cowards who embarrass themselves.

{Ed025's Note - keyboard warriors KIAK..

8.) 31 Oct 2017 13:15:50
Fair enough ed025. I thought you were going to say "he looks good in a reserve tracksuit"

In fairness he gets little to no protection from the fb or the midfield. I think most cbs would struggle in our team atm.

9.) 31 Oct 2017 13:51:23
I agree with Ed001. Lovren needs a break from football, i think. Go away, get his head straight, and then come back in his own time. He's not right. I mean he has always been a bit dodgy, but he used to have more good games than bad. That has reversed this season though.

He has a lot on his plate in his private life, and he is really struggling with injury. Playing poorly as a result, won't do his reputation any favours!

10.) 31 Oct 2017 15:03:05
Playing at a big club comes with its pressures. If that club is prepared to pay you £100k per week to play under that pressure then you must be able to handle it. If you want to play without pressure, go to Burnley or Brighton and play for less money.
If his head isn't right (due to matters away from football) as a professional, he should be able to put that to one side and he can't do that he needs to be got rid of and a replacement brought in.

11.) 31 Oct 2017 15:07:16
He will always get my support, but he isn't good enough for us that's all, but as long as he's at Liverpool I'll support him 100% but MK is right, he needs time out, his head isn't in it at all, no wonder due to the amount he's been through, I feel sorry for the fella.

12.) 31 Oct 2017 15:37:44
He's human, getting 100k a week doesn't stop you being worried about your family.
I agree, a break is what's needed. Where's his agent in all of this, could be doing more IMO.

13.) 31 Oct 2017 16:07:53

Many players have continued playing and performing through issues like this- Man up and get on with it.

14.) 31 Oct 2017 16:29:56
if klopp was a good man manager he would of kept lovren out of the firing line in stead of picking him against Huddersfield and all the abuse he took i mean we all know coutinho didn't have a back injury yet he kept him out till the transfer window shut only my opinion.

15.) 31 Oct 2017 16:40:55
'Man up and get on with it' - you obviously haven't a clue what your talking about Supermane, that is all.

16.) 31 Oct 2017 18:13:29
Agreed Corleone. I thought we were living in the 21st century where mental illnesses are taken seriously.

Wouldn't tell him to man up and get on with it if he had a broken leg, so why is a problem with your mental well being less important than a problem with your physical well being.

People really don't have a clue. It's not even there fault really. People just aren't educated about this subject. Until you've suffered, you won't understand. I got signed off work for 2 weeks with depression a couple of years ago. I needed more like 3 months but i couldn't afford to take statutory sick pay for that long.

When you're really not feeling right in your head, the worst thing you can possibly do is ignore it. Just like with a physical injury, you'll only make it worse.

17.) 31 Oct 2017 18:54:37
MK scouser.
I totally agree with you about mental illness i seen a clinical physcoligist for 18 months after a stroke and I tell you when I say you hit rock bottom you do and because people don't see you with an injury they just take it for granted your fine. maybe a break would do lovren a world of good. enjoy reading your posts. hopfully we get 3 points tomorrow.

18.) 31 Oct 2017 19:25:21
People do not seem to understand what these players deal with. Lovren grew up during the Yugoslavian Civil War and he and his fam had to flee Zagreb for Germany as bullets were being rained down upon their city/ village. He was a refugee and just like Luka Modric (who many don't know, is also a refugee who grew up during the war), he was good at footie and footie saved his life and has given the life he has. Money can NEVER change the harrowing experiences pone may have.

This may be coming back to haunt him now and he needs the support of the fans and the club now cos what is affecting him now is MORE important than money and football. The fact that he is able to play is a testament to his character and mental toughness. He does need to be kept out of the team while he resolves his personal issues.

19.) 31 Oct 2017 20:19:19
Absolutely MK - I can relate mate after going through issues at one point. Like you say, not enough people are educated about it. They should be, people should know/ understand more about mental illness these days instead of automatically assuming it's nothing and can be shrugged off? it can't be, it's not as if you can take a paracetamol and in half an hour your fine again. It's still a massive problem in regards to not enough people been aware about it not only that but the lack of support for a person whilst they are going through it. Quite sad, it really is.

20.) 31 Oct 2017 21:26:41
Great post Loris and Corleone. Glad you got past your issues Corleone. It's hard mate.

I hope you are much better these days redsteve! I can't imagine how horrible having a stroke must be. Wouldn't wish that on anyone. Can totally see how the resulting issues would cause mental illness as well!

Let's hope people will be more understanding of Lovren's situation going forward. As Loris alluded to, recent events may have brought up past demons. Most of us can only imagine the horrors of growing up in a war zone.

21.) 31 Oct 2017 22:18:18
MK scouser.
cheers for them kind words its been a hard tough road but with a loving family and the tireless work of hospital staff behind me am getting there also the love of Liverpool fc keeps me going.

22.) 01 Nov 2017 02:51:52
The best thing for Lovren is asking for a leave to sort his problems.

23.) 01 Nov 2017 07:57:01
You're welcome redsteve. Your story is pretty inspirational by the way. I'm glad you had the support you needed.

24.) 01 Nov 2017 08:29:16
As someone who has struggled consistently with depression for most of my life, I can tell you that the worst thing about it is feeling you have to hide it away and put on a brave face because people don't understand. I have had days when it is so bad that I can't work, yet I have to tell them I'm suffering from a mystery bug as they would find it more plausible. There's days when I shouldn't be working, but u put on a face so no one knows. I couldn't imagine dealing with this in the public eye.

25.) 01 Nov 2017 08:59:45
Glad you are doing okay, Redsteve. My mum had a stroke as well BUT thanks be to the Lord, she is alive, well and still mentally sharp as a tack. She battled depression as well and has come through as it was destroying her mentally and physically. She had all the support she needed and she is now fine. Glad you, Corleone and MK are doing great now. God bless, my friends!

26.) 01 Nov 2017 10:06:19
Horrible isn't it slowdog. I was so thankful when my old boss was understanding of it and gave me a fortnight off on full pay. I was expecting to be laughed at, but he was completely understanding, gave me his private number and offered his advice and support. Sadly he passed away last year from cancer at just 55 (it's always the good ones) . I can't say for sure, but i think he probably saved my life because i was on the verge of doing something stupid.

It's hard though because i don't think most bosses would be that understanding. Best thing to do mate is have a daily routine and force yourself to stick to it, even when it is a massive fight to do so. Keep busy, and try not to leave yourself alone and bored to overthink things. And talk about it to friends and family! Like you say, hiding it makes you feel worse. It is a chemical imbalance in the brain. You cannot help how you feel and there is no such thing as "just man up". There is absolutely no need to be embarrassed and if anybody makes you feel otherwise, they are not worth your time.

Like you say, god knows how Lovren manages this in the public eye, plus having to deal with death threats and people telling him to kill himself. It's disgusting, and a sad indication of how misunderstood mental illness is in football across the board; fans, players and hierarchy.

Thank you by the way Loris.

thanks for your comments so happy your mum has come though her difficulties a stroke is a brain injury and NO one can see it take care. being a top football player having lots of money means nothing if your suffering mental health problems just look at Clarke Carlisle same for lovren he needs support.

I really hope the can situation gets sorted out soon By that I mean he signs a new deal. I just get the feeling if he doesn't Klopp won't play him he will play the ox and won't be good for us or Emres World Cup hopes.

Klopp played lewa for his hole last season at Dortmund.

2.) 02 Sep 2017 11:26:16
He had a good relationship with him.

3.) 02 Sep 2017 12:02:26
They must know something about cans contract situation and be confident enough he 'll sign.

Really positive window for Liverpool. NK the plum signing but pleased with the rest of the business we done including loan deals. Solanke could be a real gem I feel. Couts obviously could still go in the next 24 hours but not to concerned either way. A shame we couldn't get VVD over the line. Will be interesting the reaction both players get if they play for the first team again.

I agree with you, and it's a shame the amount of negativity around our business. The Kieta deal is ok as we still have cover for CM as Can may well depart next year - so replacement is coming.
We need to see this as a big step forward and we are attracting players now, we will see about Coutinho tomorrow - until then save the doom and gloom and see what happens.

2.) 01 Sep 2017 00:53:56
But you should be concerned that Phil could go Because the way I see it we haven't replaced him with someone of his very high standard nk doesn't join till next year and ox wouldn't be a patch on Phil yet anyway I believe klopp will turn him good.

Eds1 I would like to hear your opinion on Tarkowski of burnley?

{Ed001's Note - similar to Duffy, good at last ditch defending but no more than that. Yes he throws his body in the way of everything, will go for every header etc, but he is not up there with the better defenders in the Prem. If he was a bit better at reading the game he would not be having to block so many shots.}

Would do well at Norwich with a brilliant little player like Maddison behind him.
