Use our rumours form to send us liverpool transfer rumours.

Arrrr just back from the pub. Got the wife well pished, enjoyed talking about that tool Hicks with my mates for the first time since 2007. We're all scratching our heads over the £300M that has been spent.

I feel totally revitalised. Even talking to my mates we are all the same. It's as if a big, big weight has been lifted and cloud has now cleared.

However this isn't to say we will go on an unbeaten 30 game run. Fair from it. The players now has to step up to the plate and prove themselves.

They can no longer hide behind the mess that H&G created. I am extremely confident about tomorrow. I trust the players will step up and finally show their worth.

If they don't after the the events of this week then i will be seriously lost for words. If this doesn't give them a serious kick up the a* e then nothing will.

I predict 2-0.

Ashley Young a very good player with a good foot. he be better playin on the inside

16 Oct 2010 23:39:41

Now that the circus has packed up and left town dya think maybe we could all stick together again and leave the team, manager, board of directors, owners to get on with their jobs?

Let's not rise to other club supporters who come on here and try to do a wind up job pretending to be a red with their inane negative comments and supposed rumour, just stick a big fat unbelievable and ignore or maybe. .infultrator (too tired to look up how to spell it), ignore this comment after each post!

Keep the faith, the dark days are (almost) over!

16 Oct 2010 23:24:51

Am i the only one who thinks Ashley Young is overrated?

I thougt the whole French world cup squad where acting like lfc team. so none of them looked great at world cup. off field issues and in fighting

16 Oct 2010 23:23:44
Stop writing 'Woy' - he's our manager, stop taking the piss. How is openly undermining our manager helping the team?

16 Oct 2010 23:22:51
I wonder if we get more americans at the club now, like landon donovan and a japner like Honda, they will prob pay for themselves in shirt sales and tv rev

16 Oct 2010 23:20:53
Does hicks have any money left? or is now a poor tosser trying to hold on to some hope of riches with this court case.

what is hicks wealth like?

16 Oct 2010 23:14:28

How can any of you possibly know transfer targets when we don't even know how much will be allocated to roy?

16 Oct 2010 22:36:30

So finally we changed chairmans but what does this mean:
a new beginning
a new era
new hope

liverpool havn't wone the top divison for 20 years
red soxx didn't win there league for 84 years

liverpool has anfield famous for european nights
red soxx had ballpark at fenway, had alot of tradition

liverpool have roy hodgson who in my mind isn't the right manager for liver
red soxx had duquette within 24 hours and replaced him in a week

liverpool have a curse of that they can't win the premier league
red soxx had a curse that the couldn't beat st louis cardinal

so similar teams
but either way j.henry is a business man who is very succesfull but he still loves sport and is a passionate man about it.

first off all i think he'll aim at different regions because the other teams are miles infrnt ofus for example manure with ji sung park,
so i think he may put a bid in for landon donovan as he could be the key for liverpool to sell alot in america and icnrease there income as he hosts his own tv line, this could transfer lfc tv into the america.
next place he'll be aiming at is the asian area as has manchester united. this were most of the world live and they would live for football. he may put a bid in for honda and make him the face of liverpool and try and get alot of shirt sales with him over there.

also another player with a massive fan base if arda turan wich these 3 there
selves could pay for a big signing a season and mebbies more. we need a strong squad before you say they may not get in the team

i will also think they'll sign someone for the team but also for a purpose and to show why they want to move liverpool forward and get all the fans behind them.and i would get rid of ny1 hu dsnt want to play for liverpool football club. and i would tell a mr certain fernando torres to book his ideas up or hes out because we don't need players like him and of course they'll find key buys for e.g joe cole this season cost a free.

so my team

reina

jhonson/ kelly carragher/ agger taiwo/ gibbs
skrtel

alonso/ / l.diarra miereles

jcole/ honda gerrard turan/ jova

torres/ donavon

to get turan you could offload babel and 6million
honda would cost about 10 million
donovan 13million

taiwo is out of contract
gibbs would be hard because of arsenal but they have clichy and armard traore so a bid like 5-8 million may attract them

then my big one is alonso simply the fans loved hes a star. nd loved here it would cost 20 mil plus but this is a luvely way to show the fans where you wana go
or lassana diara who will cost about 10 million again

all this would cost about 50 millions but the revenue of the players would quickly make this up and more

but we have a new future and i can't w8 what it unravals so lets torture everton on sunday and start to climb up the table the other top teams have dropped poiints so we can gain them

To all concerned fans that are worrying becuz nesv are not the sugar daddy they wanted, or becuz lim said 40m wud be available in jan, hodgson summed it up himself yesterday in his interveiw, with out paying silly money on servicing debt liverpool are a very profitable club and can be a major player in the tranfer market. we are not a man city who have paid over the odds for good players, (dont get me wrong) and brought an entire squad, we need 4 world class players. and then the 30m each summer can be spent on 1 maybe 2 players, my point bein the club will take care of its self and nesv will not have to dip in 2 there own pockets.

16 Oct 2010 22:17:09

Ed, can you tell me what hicks is trying to achieve in his court case please?
thanks

{Editor's Note: It is purely financial.}

Great week so far just hope we will do the business tomora. For people being negative about the new owners just wait and see how it goes as in my opinion we have have a very bright future. So come on everyone get behind the lads tomoro and hopefully we will top the week off with another win. Come on Liverpool. YNWA

Carra is a liability and not good enough. For berbatov to score a hatrick against any quality defender is unheard of. He was outpaced, outmuscled, outjumped and outclassed. We have the tag of being a longball team mainly thanks to carra who must account for over 50 per cent of the longballs we play. He is an old fashioned defender and these days defenders have to be more than that. They need the ability to play football and find a pass. His heart and desire is there but that's where it stops. Sentiment cos he is a local lad foes not win trophies or keep clean sheets. I have been a season ticket holder for many years and feel Sami would have provided us with a bit more these last 18 months. Rose tinted glasses off people, carra, along with Konch, poulsen, ngog, jova and kuyt are nowhere near top 4 level. And that is what we need to address if we want to improve.

Heard a rumour that Johnson has been a naughty boy in his private life and is to be dropped for the Merseyside derby tomorrow.

This doesn't involve Jimmy and a dog in the park in Formby does it.

Now there are new owners, all but Gerrard, Torres and Reina will be playing for their liverpool futures. Let's hope some of them prove themselves and remember who they play for.

Sorry to post this here but its so good to see people taking about transfer rumours after all the doubt. Maybe one of the players mentioned will also come to Liverpool its now a possibility!

Even tho some people on this site will definitely be pressing unbelievable for this rumour, I really do think that Honda could join Liverpool at some point in the near future, either in Jan or next summer. I don't claim to have any inside knowledge or contacts about the matter, I'm just tryna say what I see. Wen asked about transfer funds JWH sed that he will talk to hodgson and they will have to make strategic sense, if hodgson wants Honda, which he apparently does, I cannot see this not making strategic sense. Quality player (check) revenue from shirt sales (check) not paying over the odds (check 15-20mil) If this did happen I'd be the first to contribute to the shirt sales. Other transfers I'd love to see are coentrao, turan and another winger (not sure. . Maybe young or mata, never seen Sanchez so can't comment) hope you agree. lfcluke95 p.s lovin this site Ed YNWA

Liverpool will never get jovetic he has a huge get out clause and they love him like Batistuta in Forientina
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Jovetic is injured for 6 months. If Rafa was still in charge he would probably put a 15-20 mill bid for him in January.

I'm sorry ed i've lost the plot!

after so much time complaining, wishing, hoping, and praying for the cockroaches to let go of our club.
and after our board of directors truly went out on a limb for us and dug their heels in and even our new owners stood by us when they could have said stuff this when the going got tough, imagine where we would be now if
N.E.S.V PULLED OUT!
i just can't believe some people are just so negative towards our new owners, surely it proves something when they fought so hard to buy our club, at least lets give them a chance to prove that they only have good intentions; so lets get behind them lads; go with their changes and watch the next part of our history unfold.

Now that the takeover mess is sorted out, we can get back to playing football. I would love Roy to play an attacking team.

Renia
Kelly Carragher Skrtel Konchesky
Meireles Lucas
Cole Gerrard Jovanovic
Torres

Take out Konchesky, Aurelio is on his way back! Believable for Aurelio, unb. for konchesky

I 100% agree with you mate. Only reason I would play Konchesky over Aurelio is because I feel as if we need to
slowly bring Aurelio back. If we rush him and start him in a competitive derby I see him getting injured again. I would give him 30 minutes.

(( i don't won't him anyway near the merseyside derby 2moro. I expect he won't be in squad 2moro either let a lone 30mins you must be insane.
Yeah lets just bring back an injury plagued player to a derby 'what idiots'

To all the so called fans ( probably not Real Liverpool Fans ) saying the club is no better off because the owner should have sqillions of ££££££S
Your way off the mark. . its all about stability sound finances no debt or very little . being able to give the manager a good transfer kitty .
and as for a new ground. .i think most fans would be happy if anfield can redeveloped into a 60-65 thousand seater stadium. .
if that's not possible ie council saying Stanley park is the only option then ok go with that. .so please stop saying you need billions . you don't

Just watching Barcelona game and banega is plain really well. Top top player. But I have to laugh at that nutter masherano sittin on the bench again. No one worshipping him or singing great songs about him oh how he got a bad deal. I'm sure he said it is a dream to play for barca yet all he's doing is sitting down for barca.

Met the new owners in the stadium today - very approachable if you view the photos on Liverpoolfc website that's my mum (in the pink cardigan) next to Carraghers medals. Liverpool fc.tv were giving them the guided tour. John Henry kept using incredible and amazing as he was shown our history.Overheard St Christian talk to someone on his mobile informing them of a meeting in Chapel St Liverpool at 11.30am Monday. Think its about the stadium. Believe me sky Sports were waiting outside the ground (along with many press cameras who asked me what was going on in the ground - see me on sky sports tomorrow.

TO THE GUY WHO SAID SELL JOHNSON WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT HIS ONE OF THE BEST RIGHT BACKS

To the prat that felt so strongly about the subject he capitalised it all, what are you on? He is a pathetic right back.! In case you didn't know he is supposed to be able to defend as well as go forward, unfortunately he isn't good at either.

Johnson has such protential. I would prefer him as right wing though.
When this kid's got confidence then he is very very good

I love watching johnson play his never been great defending but who cares when his at his best his really good

Carragher is a great player he has never had great pace it was never needed because of his ability to read the game the whole defence method has changed were not using zonal and they will take time to learn different methods fro Roy

16 Oct 2010 19:43:23
Still can't believe people are pointing at Rafa to say he wasted millions - that red nosed whisky swilling glaswegian at Old Trafford wasted 28 million on Veron, Millions on Anderson and Nanni, ( and Rooney is now finished and will be sold on to Real Madrid in January.) Rafa net spend of 27 million in 4 years is common knowledge so why are people still knifing him for wasting money? He did a great job with little cash to spare, almost took us to the title and in the past 3 seasons injuries have hardly helped us -(Tores, Gerrard etc) I will say his man management probably could have been better- Alonso for example, and aledgedly at the end, Gerrard and Torres. But hey, some players are too big for their boots and need reminding that they are supposed to be playing for the manager and the club - would Shanks , Paisley or Dalglish have put up with moody players? So why should Rafa.

Thanks for all you did Rafa, pity you didn't stay longer, maybe someday you will return. . .YNWA

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

I did like benitez and he did get some good results for us, some beautiful memories too but will counter your claim of his spendings.
It is true that the net spent was between 25-30 million pounds but some of his buys were poor and we could have done allllllot better with that money in my opinion.
naming a few, glen johnson was a great player but 17 million? cmon! a few more million an we could have bid for ramos lol. but seriously!, that was poor in my opinion and as of many.
aquilani-good player but INJURED! it took him more thn 6 months to feature when we badly needed a replacement for alonso! we could have bought so many world class players for that value than having bought someone who would end up potentially being shipped out for 6 million less having brought no advantage to us whatsoever.
robbie keane. bought him proper expensive. he didn't do very good but didn't play very bad either. he assisted torres okay and played quite well some matches (note:arsenal (wonder strike against almunia). ) then sold on cheap and not replaced in the market. our strikers woes began from there. !

no question he did have a hand in bringing a few brilliant players but if money wasnt wasted on players of this sort than he would have potentially spent less net or have had bought better players for the positions. !
it was time for him to go and lets not dwell on it anymore. instead, use the same energy in supporting hodgson for that is what is real right now, not benitez. :)

After watching that 'exclusive' interview with Tom Hicks last night, I feel extremely remorseful about my conduct towards Tom Hicks.

It is clear from this interview that i have made a grave mistake and for this i humbly apologise.

So i'm big enough to own up to my mistake. . . . Mr Tom Hicks i humbly apologise for ever thinking you were a man.

My mistake. Thanks to that interview i have seen the light. Now have a nice life bankrupt, hope someone takes you out and messes with your balloon knot.

Now I've got that out of the way I feel so much better.

Ed, can you shed some light on how much profit (after absolutely all expenses-all the way to cleaners wages lol) does our club make in a year.
in addition to that, how long it will take NESV to retain thier initial 300 million pound takeover.
p.s-ignore refurbishment/ new stadium costs as that would then bring in increased revenue ( :) ).

It's skrtel and da Greek that need to go and push Ayala and Kelly or Wilson in there. Can't get experience without 1st team games. I personally think they do too much messing the ball around there own box/ half.best qoute for our leaking defense is if in doubt h*ck it out.
Fowler is god

Thanks for all you did Rafa, pity you didn't stay longer, maybe someday you will return. . .YNWA

As a Liverpool fan I am delighted to see the back of Hicks and Gillett to start off with though I also blame Rafa for the recent decline, I cannot help but wonder that if he had spent his funds more wisely and on more proven players that we would undoubtedly be in a better position. We missed out on signings that would have transformed our club, foremost in my mind is David Villa who 2 or three seasons ago we could have afforded but instead we spent a total of 35 million on Robbie Keane, Albert Riera and Andrea Dossena. Anyone would have taken Villa over all these players put together. Selling key players like Alonso and Mascherano was also a killer blow, especially as we bought Mascherano for 18 million and sold him for under 25 million when we could have easily sold him for 30+ million. Anyway that is all in the past and we have to look to the future, in managerial terms I would give Roy 6-10 more games to prove himself. I like him and he is proven, he managed to turn average players into good players at Fulham but can he turn the good players at Liverpool into great players? So far I would have to say no, there definitely need to be some changes in the Liverpool team. Now I don't expect large scale spending but I do expect some investment in players. I am particularly worried by the lack of pace and quick thinking when we play and this needs to be addressed more than anything else. For me, these are the only options that would make a real difference to the side. (The prices I have quoted are estimations of how much I think the player is worth and could differ from their actual cost if purchased).
Michel Bastos: At the moment unlikely as there are plenty of suitors but I don't think Paul Konchesky is quality enough and he would provide pace we desperately need. 12-20 million
Juan Mata: This guy is totally proven in La Liga but can he cut it in the Premier League? He is within our price range but could be a possible risk. If he does succeed though then I believe he could become an invaluable team member who can join the team together like he does at Valencia. 16 million
Forlan:? Sounds a far stretch as he is getting on a bit but I can't think of a better player to change Liverpool's dynamic, he always looks to play the ball forward, not only creative but also lethal in front of goal. 12-20 million (expensive for a player who is thirty-one but he still has a good few seasons left in him)
Aguero: Again, this would be a dream signing but would in my eyes be a great partner to Torres, it is these type of players though who would convince Gerrard and Torres to stay even if we miss out in the champions league this season. In this case he would be worth the money. 30-40 million
Javi Martinez: This young gem is similar in style to Alonso and could possibly reignite the Liverpool midfield. 15- 20 million
Obviously I don't expect more than one of these signings if any at all especially as the January window has been quiet in the last couple of seasons for most Premier League teams with the exception of Man City. Feel free to comment as I would love to read your feedback.

Honest Archie

{Editor's Note: Villa never wanted to leave Spain - Aguero would be a great signing but he maybe a little lightweight for the EPL and he would demand something like £200k a week in wages - not for Liverpool.}

16 Oct 2010 19:06:15
And would people please stop putting joe cole in left midfield in ur dream teams as the main reason he came to liverpool was to play in a central attacking role where he flourishes the most. and i think he has done quite a job from his role until now.

I recently returned from holiday in Southern Spain and it was reported in local press that Malaga may bid for Glen Johnson in January. Malaga have recently been taken over by a very wealthy Qatari who wants them to challenge for a Champions League place because Valencia, Ath.Madrid and other challenges to third and fourth in Spain are massively in debt. They think this is possible with some big signings of experienced international players in January. It was reported Malaga were willing to pay around 17m euros for Johnson.

Copy of my post from Wednesday. Speaking with friends in southern Spain today who suggest there are strong rumours of Glen Johnson going to Spain either in January or June. As well as interest from Malaga (above), there are potential bids of around 17m euros coming Liverpools way from Real Madrid and Sevilla.

The Boston Red Sox are the 2nd highest speanding team in the MLB and henry said he would do what ever it took to make liverpool a winning side. Also the he will be able to actually put the money liverpool were making back into the club as oppose to what hicks and gillette did and payed debts with it.

Well said. We don't really need a meglomaniac sugar daddy sheikh because if we are able to put our commercial profits back into the club and the team, the club will run itself
We will have a whole load of money available previously paying off interest on the debts of H&G, along with money from NESV.

- - - - - - - - - - - -
If anything if NESV were to sell Liverpool in say 5 years time with no great debt, then that will be to a sugar daddy billionaire sheikh.

I've been thinking a bit about Hicks and his threat to pursue legal action against LFC and/ or Broughton, Purslow and Ayres. I also notice that he is worried by what he calls "online terrorism" by us the fans.

I think the campaign should continue. We should keep an eye on Hicks's business interests and particularly any potential future interests that come to light. If he does take legal action against us or our directors we should continue to bombard those he is connected with with emails asking them not to do business with him until he drops his legal action(s). In some cases we can threated the power to boycott products.

That will teach him not to mess with us.

In my opinion Carragher should be let go, out of the team, out of the club. Then brought back to the coaching staff, when he as finished is career or proven coach.Shouting and great leaders don't always make great managers, Souness a prime example. The main problem with this team the last 18 months as been our defence is not as good as it was.According to a lot on this site obviously remember the Carragher of two yrs ago, not the one who puts on the red shirt these days, they still have him in there dream team.Imo we will never be a top 4 team again if we persist with him.People who remember Kenny as player manager Know he had sir bob paisley as a director of football stroke consultant. And experienced coaches Moran, Evans alongside him, with Phil Thompson with reserves.

16 Oct 2010 18:18:25

Right. . I have quite a lot to cover in this posting . .

1) The Takover

2) The Squad

3) The Manager

4) Rumour

1) The Takeover

Its a relief to know those 2 have gone isn't it . They both told many lies about what they would achieve with us and through their own actions they destroyed their own credibility thorugh wanting too much money, yep good old fashioned greed. . if we were to use their accounting formula which they used when they bought the club then what they got was a fair price . The reason the board was restructured the way it was with Broughton coming in was to give them credibility and ironically everyting that has happened now was actually set in motion back then . Any threats of damages will be laughed out of any English court . I am no lawer but if you look at any 'prosecution' . . 'form' is taken into account when looking at the bigger picture . Tom Hicks has already had his baseball team taken off him by the ruling body in America and forcibly sold to the serious bidder who was for years trying to get Hicks to sell but ofcourse he was holding out for more and more money while simultaneously running the team down painfully . Sky Sports are disgraceful in entertaining the propoganda interview when an English Court Of Law has delivered a damning veridct on his actions . I don't mind Gray & Keyes publicly exorcising their low self esteem demons which were brought on by Liverpool being untouchable when they were young men and ofcourse Gray was a blue. . but Jamie redknapp is a joke as a pundit (and he used to play for us !when he wasnt injured which was now and again) Family Redknapp need to concentrate on matters a little closer to home , like his own financial dealings etc and not jump on the anti Liverpool bandwagon that is Sky Sports Tv .

Hicks was holding out for a benefactor to come in but when it wasnt forthcoming he tried every undignified trick in the book and came second , justice has been served , now do yourself a fgavour and let it go .

Welcome John Henry et al from New England Spoerts Ventures !

I hope you are prepared to invest the money we need to take our quite remarkable club back to where we belong at The Pinnacle of English & European Football .

In many ways your at an advantage in your knowledge of how you need to tread , just basically do the oppoiste of your vanquished predecessors! Give The Fans a chunk of the new set up & if you can hold onto the boys from the board that kept their dignity & wits about them in getting the club into new hands .

2) The Squad

I think we need something in the region of 100M invested in the squad purely in fees for new players during the next 2 transfer windows for us to be able to challenge at the top . I believe we need a centre half , a top left back , 2 winggers a centre mid and 2 strikers . We could let a few men leave but the squad is a bit light and then my philosophy would then to be to continue to buy up the top young talent homa & abroad to feed into the squad and I think we would only need 2 players per year after that which would be well within our financial setup

I would buy Luiz , Contraeu , Defour , Mata , Affellay , Vucinic & Lukaku but the options include

Subotic , Hangeland , Wheater , Shawcross , Cahill

Taiwo , Vargas , Figueroa

Mata , Turan , Elia , Young , Agbonlahor , Kaka

Banega , McCarthy , Alonso :-) ,

Dzeko , Suarez , Lopez , llorente , Wickham , Fabiano

The Manger

I would say I have my doubts about Roy Hodgson , he isn't a bad manager overnight but some of the actions look abit sketchy and when there has been a takeover it might be time for the new broom to include a new manager . I havent made my mind up about it yet and its nothing personal against Roy because he is a very likeable bloke , I just don't know if he is the right man to take the reins under the new ownership . Our tradition tells us to be loyal but we are also sensitive and educated fans and we are very instinctive folk. . it needs to turn round very quickly !

The Aletrnatives

King Kenny

it could be the answer. . but if it doesn't work I would be mortified

O'Neil

hmmm could bring Young and Agbonlahor with him whcih would be great and he would get us fighting but can be very defensive and bad reports from villa players after he left them. .

Mourinho

hmmm most fans wouldn't want him and he could do a great job for us but wouldn't stay long term and what we want is a man who would happily spend 15 top trophy laden years with us

Deschamps

A very good up & coming manager hmmm dunno

Rafa The Return! !

hmmm would the fans want him back. . I am not sure but we could do a lot worse

Ferguson. .

Capello hmmm

Lippi hmmm

Steve Nicol very good

Alex McLeish not bad

4) Rumours

I think Roy will go by Christmas and the fans will either call for King Kenny or O'Neil might get a shot

As for the squad I think in jan we wwill buy 3or 4 with the priority being a striker and one wide man & I think he will buy Defour too! I like Vucinic but Dzeko or Suarez would be awesome or Aguero & there are a lot reports that we are in for Mata! Long term though we need a very good 3rd striker too and I would go fro the young lad Lukaku & then in the sumer we need a dominant centre half and a left back that can defened and bomb on . Luiz is the best out there but would be very expensive but there are alternatives , 2 good wide men are needed too , I like a few , Mata is on fire at the moment , and then after the big investment we buy top young men and buy only one or two big players each year

RE:Boston Red Sox are the 2nd highest speanding team in the MLB and henry

well u forget that baseball works differntly, they only spend on players if they already made money on the deal by advertising , shirtsales ect. Then they go out and buy the player.
That word means nothing in football.

Henry isn't a real fan, won't spend time in lfc, he is american who lives in boston. So this won't be a major spending club for him. He has his castle in america. He life in boston. LFC is like a hoilday home he picked up on the cheap that will triple in vaule once the credit crunch is over. all lfc is to these people is a vauleble asset that they can use to raise money or sell on. Hes a game to them, No heart of soul for the team.

So get this thinking out of your heads. LFC will be run by MR BURNS from simpsons, penny pinchin. no real money spending unless a bigger star leaves and we spend his fee money.

The stadium will increase in size so that Mr Henry can borrow against the asset in the future, but he won't waste 300millon building a new stadium.

Ok About Zola and west ham.

Zola was a great player, players want to work and play for a man they respect. Hes a nice guy and will attract big names. At west ham he didn't have the money to buy big, but he still got a couple of decent players,

We wasnt given time and now westham are in worst position than when he was at the club. At liverpool he will inspire players, and i don't think he could any less of a job than Roy Hodgson.

In reply to the below, Lim was just a maverick and reports suggest that he was just helping H+G delay the deal! it's not about who have the deapest pockets (although NESV do have deep pockets its not just Jonh W Henry you know!) its about who will run the club correctly! I don't know anymore than anyone else if this will prove to be a good deal or not only time will tell but if you take the red sox as a model then things look bright. Also to the people trying to get hodgson out why don't we just see what he can do know things are settled and if he proves that he's not the right man then would be the time to look at other options we need to give the guy a chance he was given the job whether you like it or not so get behind him if your really fans!

16 Oct 2010 06:03:19

"Not to sure on these new owners myself. Lim off to clear all debt and big transfer funds. His seemed a better deal."

I almost always avoid attacking the posters I disagree with but focus on the issues instead, but in this case I will make an exception: either you are poorly informed or a fool. Lim has Man U supporting stores, has nothing like the collective shareholder wealth that owns NESV, and had every opportunity to try and outbid NESV in the bid process. . which he didn't. Then after the deal is done he suddenly goes public with a "better offer?" He is just as much of a charlatan as Huang and isn't the kind of owner the greatest football club on earth deserves. NESV have a great background by comparison and you like all other Liverpool supporters should thank your lucky stars (and stripes) that NESV are our new owners. And PS, I'm not American!

First of all this has nothing to do with nationality. By your writing I assume you was a Hicks and Gillett fan when they first arrived.
Did lim offer a better deal than NESV ?
Did Lim offer to clear all debt and give a big transfer fund?
What has NESV offered?
Who can't say NESV won't riddle the club in loans down the line?
Lim's got Man utd bars around Asia . And your point being? The fact the guy is a business man and offered his
OWN money into the deal should tell you he wants success.
But then hey your the expert. You should be a boss member or summit.

Hi ed is it fair to say you like me both want hodgson replaced with a younger and more atack minded manager well i think that di matteo, or klinsman would be a revalation at anfield as i could see both of them shaking our academy up and investing in more youth a bit like the german world cup team

To the guy who said a rumour of wealthy family are part of Nesvs bid=100% correct and its actually Carlos Slim Helu, the worlds richest man he owns 20% of Ny York Times who have a 20% stake in Nesv
Carlos slim Helu wants a full buy out of New York Times asap , if granted he will be one of our majority owners :)

Carlos slim helu has a net personal worth of 60 billion +

Seriously? After the last months cirkus, I've become paranoid, so if anyone could tell me if I'm being fooled again or not, I'd be happy! Ed, u Think this is real? Thanks for great site, I've had all the updates here first:-)

Yes at the moment he is a part owner of New York Times which are aprt of the investors of NESV and has been known to have interst in buying the full 100% of NYT which would make him part owner of LFC.
atm Nesv have a load of investors worth a total of £10-15Billion and Carlos slim helu has a net worth of $60Bill.

Hey you lot. I just want an opinion from everyone.
What type of player do you think would make a better strike partner for Torres?
-A target man like Llorrente/ Dzeko/ Cavani
-A smaller more skilled player like Aguero/ Suarez/ Hulk
-Or maybe a player similar to Torres with power and pace and some of the skill like Lisandro Lopez
Thanks for your input.

The Hulk is a smaller player?
No wonder he's called the Hulk!

IMO i think Liverpool should buy between january transfer window and the summer transfer window

1 left back: tawio
1 center back: cahill
2 wingers: honda and turan/ ashley young
1 defensive mid: defour/ flamini (flamini would class as homegrown)
1 attacking mid: hazard
2 strikers: Lopez/ rossi (rossi would class as homegrown) and Lacina Traore

and sell
itjande
kyriakos
poulson
maxi
babel
el zhar (permanent deal)
Kuyt (sadly)

Just like to say i think a target man would benefit torres the most as a partner but with torres's injurys i don't think you could play someone like dzeko upfront alone so with that we would need to buy someone who both benefits us as a target man and also as a lone striker like Gignac

I would prefer a prolific, power traget man to partner torres as if belive they will fit into the prems rough nature. i suggest we save the smaller skilled player for the wing, mata/ turan/ marin/ navas all wud be great

If Hodgson doesn't pull it around, maybe make either Carragher or Gerrard player manager in my opinion.
Young, fresh, hungry, desire . I think either would be a suprise success., I mean look at a young dalglish as player manager! He had a team that played attractive football. Worth a though

young, fresh, hungry and desire! yet another four players liverpool are dreaming of! mind you you wouldn't find young, fresh, hungry or desire in any liverpool shirt lmfao

I think it would be hard to deny that our defending this season has been p*ss poor, so attack has to be our best policy tomorrow so as to take the pressure of the back 4! Pacheco left, Johnson right, Torres up front & Gerrard just in behind. Meireles plus 5 others & it doesn't really matter who because none are any better than the other. Oh & one more thing! Roy should tell them we are 1-0 down before they go out! It seems to me that's when we only start playing. Come on boys, make a good week into a great one. No more excuses of ownership issues.

The only ones i can think of that can't are the keepers! they are all very comfortable at receiving the ball where ever they are, seen cesc cover at centre half as vermallen steps out of defence with the ball even when gibbs has the ball nasri has slotted in at lb, we have a quality you can not even dream of, the only player you have is probably gerard? and the lad should really move on if he ever wants to play champions league again!

FB: Konchesky, Insua, Kelly, Darby, Lahm(£10m)
CM: Gerrard, Meireles, Aquilani, Spearing, De Rossi (£20m)
Wing: Babel, Kuyt, Maxi, Jovanovic, Honda(£10m), Cole
ST: Torres, N'gog, Forlan(£7m) and Gomez (£15m)

We should also sign Connor Whickam for aroud £2m. The prices i have stated are only estimates, please tell me if you think they will be worth more and also if you agree. I personally think we need Aqua and Insua Back. Sell Johnson for around £15m. Net spend - £47m over Jan and Summer. thanks YNWA

Forlan would cost 12m+, Lahm atleast 15m and Wickham 5m+. I desperately want Aqua back, he's far more creative than Lucas and Poulson and gets the play moving. He showed this towards the end of last season when he was given a chance and was regaining confidence.

Woy looking to bring in Gary Neville in jan window."

Can't see it happening, apparently he's keen to continue filling Fergie's number 2 slot.

16 Oct 2010 14:22:26

Liverpool will be looking to bring in , ashley young, and saurez in january if lucas, babel , maxi and the greek (also suprisingly agger as hodgson doesn't fancy him) can be offloaded then also expect a move for hangeland and afelley,

reina
johnson carra hangeland konchesky

miereles gerrard

cole young

torres saurez subs jones , jova , afelley , poulsen(only untill summer), skrtle aurelio, kuyt, ngog, pacheco, jonjo, kelly, spearing,

16 Oct 2010 14:20:32

Please please please stop with all the lfc rumous for fook sake. the managers job has not been confirmed safe. the new owners said they want to sit back and asses things so how the bloody hell can some of you idiots know who we are buying. post it in banter section. oh maybe you been reading craptalk or the sun.

16 Oct 2010 14:19:36

Poor old Roy it must have been a hard week sitting next to moyes all the way from Belgium think I would jump mid air

16 Oct 2010 14:19:31

After the events of the last few days, let me dream. .but a controlled dream based on what John W Henry has done with other "sports ventures." I reckon he'll buys talented youth (so the club doesn't become laden with debt) and combine this with 1 marquee signing. 6 players that could transform us from next season onwards:

Reina
Van Der Wiel - Kelly - Hangeland - Contreao
Hazard - Gerrard - Meireles
Honda
Torres - Ageuro
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
I would agree with you in a sense we need to bring in youth but we can't just change our back 4 like that. We need yo gradually introduce the likes of Kelly into centre back

16 Oct 2010 14:18:43

John Henry and co. met all the players in training today at melwood and probably told them about their plans just to give them a morale boost. Pics out there on liverpool.tv. Im impressed the way our new owners are showing real interest to take the club forward. Wat say Ed.?
{Editor's note - Positive signs so far}

16 Oct 2010 14:15:40

Well back to fantasy football, for me a team needs 4 cb's 1 old, 1 young and 2 to play most weeks. we could sell the greek and skrtel (am sure every1 prefers carra to soto). that could generate enough money for a new cb, shawcross, hangeland, cahill are the names on here but who knows.
maybe roy not buying a striker in the summer might play out well for him, he may have more money this window to spent on quality. tbh i would prefer bent and turan to aguero, im sure athletico will want a lot of money for him. also i like to see hulk play he might be a good player for us. there are so many good wingers i just hope we get 1.
and people please stop saying honda is an arsenal type player, such bull. arsenal arent even the best team in london so why would they be such a big draw to any player.
ed thoughts

always a red

16 Oct 2010 14:15:22

Wel you may all like roy, but personally i don't like his style of football(think about not loseing before winning). he signed to many defensive players in the summer other than joe cole there was nothing going forward. ano he was on a tight budget but we could of got better buys if we spend our time better.
we need width evry good team in the world has a winger who can turn the game on its head. for example barcelona with messi, real madrid with ronaldo, manchester united nani , etc . so we need a winger whos confident for starters. if torres isn't doing his job like he should be just drop him you would if any other player was playing like him.

my team would be for sunday:

reina

kelly carragher agger konchesky

jhonson/ babel gerrard meirales cole
(final chance)

torres pacheco

but this side is alrite but not our idea top 4 team. we need more passion as i don't see it as much as i did in 2005 when we won the champions league. i would improve it in many areas. but we need our academy back and running we were bringing players through like owen gerrard sounnes daglish and many more.
i would offer benitez kuyt and jhonson for santon and muntari. as muntari is a proven premiership player.
marin would cost about 15-20million. also i would try and sign crouch for babel and 5 million as he'll give us something different going forward. also if crouch doesn't come i would put in a bid for diego forlan

reina
santon agger skrtel/ carragher taiwo
(nearing his end get him for free
of career) next season

meirales muntari

gerrard

marin joe cole
torres

bench: crouch , skrtel/ carragher, lucas, pacheco(more game time), wilson( got agreat future at cb carragher could tutor him),

also i would loan out the likes of shelvey as they need game time. and sign some wonderkids like lukaku and invest alot in our own academy because we need to get the world class players through who has passion and technical ability.

THE FUTURE STARTS NOW

16 Oct 2010 14:14:06

Well the transfer dreams have started - all I want is NESV to give the manager as much money in transfer funds as Fat Spanish Waiter got, and that Roy ( assuming NESV want him ) spends it in a far better way. And I mean in a better way than spending 3-4 million on a 29 year old very average left back, when we have better defenders already in the reserves.
Just be careful what you wish for.
Only one prediction so far:
No new stadium, and the council will not allow Anfield to be developed too much either.
Beware - Hicks may have lied about a lot of things when he was the owner, but one very important point he did point out - Broughton is a life long Chelsea fan, so - HAVE WE REALLY GOT THE BEST DEAL AVAILABLE?

16 Oct 2010 14:12:18

I saw the Sky interview with one of Hick's greasy lawyers.

He kept on about how Hicks had been swindled, and all will be revealed when the 'true' facts come out.

Tom Melsheimer told Sky News: "These gentlemen's rights have been trampled on."

Yeah right.

Melsheimer conveniently forgets to mention the money owing to RBS. That had to be paid by 15th October.

Melsheimer had to be heard to be believed, slimey lawyer, full of s* t !

If Hick's wanted the club, he would have paid up.

It was HICKS who was doing the swindling and asset stripping. I see that 'Honest Harry' Redknap backed Hicks. Two of a kind no doubt ?

Realistic Liverpool Squad For Next Season:

Guys, there is a lot of paranoid people on here. Sky Sports Soccer Saturday are not anti Liverpool FC. They're just ribbing us most of the time which comes from jealously mainly & because we are such good humoured people! Why would Thompson stay if he didn't enjoy the ribbing (banter). Some of my friends, my closest friends who are Spurs & Villa fans always gang up on me & slag off Liverpool regularly but i know its nothin personal just jealousy. Maybe with the exception of Merson & Le Tissier but it isn't anti Liverpool on the whole & my opinion on the Hicks interview - he & his legal team would not have allowed certain questions to be put to him. If Ssn had asked for an interview with all the hard questions they'd have been told to F.O. Ssn wanted an exclusive interview to boost their standing not to be anti - LFC! Come on guys, see through the muddy waters. We're a top club, there to be shot at but that's it. If ya can't handle it, become a bitters fan! Thats what they're good for! Any opinions Ed?
{Editor's note - It is just a bit of banter to get more viewers}

lol best giggle i have had in ages! as a spurs fan i think/ know i could speak for most other yids, we have never ever been jealous of any club esp yours, you like us have a very proud history, yes you have won more trophy's but our history is unmatchable even united can not compare in a line of firsts, first and only non-league club to win the f.a. cup, first to do the modern double, first british team to win a european trophy, i could and should go on but i wont, like i said we are two proud clubs, and yes we are world known just peasant petty little fans with the jealous streak would think other wise, good luck

16 Oct 2010 13:56:02

If Hicks had the money to pay off RBS and other Bank loans yesterday why did he leave it right until the last hours before the indignity of administration. I don't think Hicks was bothered about administration but just so he could hold onto the club so he could sell at a higher price.
If he'd paid off the debt in May when the club was put up for sale, i am sure the club would have become more attractive to many more purchasers. It would also have brought massive relief to the fans. Also we would have had a higher transfer budget in the summer because we would not have had to pay interest payments on the debt.
I just think Hicks probably had borrowed more money to pay off this debt and would had put it onto the club. I also believe his so called mystery bidders did not exist, and if they did they would not deal with either H&G.
Very unsavoury in my opinion. But the way Sky showed the interview butter wouldn't melt in his mouth.

16 Oct 2010 13:52:17
I would imagine that there are 'corporate tax' reasons for not clearing the debt completely.

Mr (fantasist, conspiracy theorist) Hicks will always have a career in comedy open to him.

The guy who interviewed Hicks needs to hand back his NUJ card because he is a disgrace and didn't challege any of his offensive and ludicrous claims and allegations. I hope Broughton and the board and RBS and NESV sue for deformation of character.

Well done to all the internet terrorists.

Good luck to our new 'owners'. We will be watching. . . .

16 Oct 2010 13:51:06

Just been watching clips of Gerrard on YouTube. Brings back good memories. Anyone noticed how he doesn't shoot as much anymore. He's renown for his long range efforts and has failed to hit a cracker for ages. Shame really. Do you agree, Ed?

Here's Hoping.

16 Oct 2010 13:46:37

Now the negativity towards to NESV deal has started on Sky Sports. Phil Thompson was unfairly 'ribbed' on Soccer Saturday and its as if Sky News are now supporting Hicks against Liverpool by showing snippets from that interview over and over again. Lets face it the interviewer gave a very soft performance. Oh I suppose its what we should expect from Alan Myers.

16 Oct 2010 13:46:25
H*ck off SOS you know h*ck all, put your tail between your legs, hang your heads in shame how wrong were you about the magnificent 3, stick to what you Know best cheap coaches for the away games and that's it. you will destroy our club as much as hicks & gillet. you are not the voice of the KOP.
why don't you give a big appology to the people who have saved our club.
You are not recognised as a fans group and you will ruin any chance of any of Fans representaion at board room level.
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
Have said it before this group is now claiming they were the power behind the takeover. THEY DONT represent the majority of LFC fans will they now please go away. If the club is to return to its former glory it won't with this remnant of the Militant tendancy. Interesting their website is headed with a comment from Shanks about socialism. .why not about football. Please leave now and let the club not be a political football for your own ends. You will not be on the board of directors. if you are you will ruin the club. LFC Season Ticket Holder

16 Oct 2010 13:42:53

Why did we let Insua go?

16 Oct 2010 13:39:39

What if john w henry turns things around in say 4 or 5 years and liverpool are back at the top and winning the champions league how much would he value the club and if he wanted to sell who would buy it cause with success the price will sky rocket and we could end up going full circle with the success when they say there not going to give you as much money to spend you will have to sell to buy and the team could again be dismantlee benitez should never have upset alonso trying to sell him to get barry so then after a great season alonso left and when we need someone like a bellamy or crouch we had to get rid of them so we could get torress and robbie keane which didn't work out we must keep our best players and not buy just anyone to fill a position i don't know what liverpool scouting system is like but we should identify players that have the abilty for the premier league and young talent that are playing under 19s and under 21 international football and we should try and find new top south american players who we will see playing for brazil and argentina in world cups in the future the new messis and kakas etc they could be money in the bank in the transfer markets of the future

16 Oct 2010 13:36:43

Ashley young, michel bastos, fernando llorente and sergio ageuro are four signings that would certanly persuade torres to stay. width height and power going forward.

not sure about the middle two but young and ageuro?? no way, according to the villa camp mon had to beg young not to join spurs last jan and ended up giving the lad a pay rise and sad to say that's where young would like to see his future at!, ageuro no hope at all but bastos and llorente would be good additions

16 Oct 2010 13:28:47

Like every Liverpool fan I'm absolutely ecstatic that Randolf and Mortimer have been ousted and new owners are in place, however, and perhaps "ED" or another more financially astute person could answer, why have NESV cleared £200 Million off the debt, why not pay the other £37 Million and clear the entire £237 Million debt?

I appreciate Broughton and Purslow (and some degree Ayre), have all come out and stated that NESV are/ will be the right owners, however on a personal, and perhaps slightly sceptical level, I can't help but think that finacially we will still struggle to compete.

I have done a little research on NESV, and from what is disclosed I can't see the new owners having the financial clout and money reserves to lift the club to a level that is required. Yes they are ultra shrewd, and forward thinking when it comes to the world of finance, however they haven't and aren't used to dealing with the Football world of finance, and lets face it it is completely unique and pardon the pun a whole new ball game.

Prior to any talks of a stadium revamp or a new stadium, I believe we need to sort out the playing staff, and that means increasing the ability on the pitch - new players! The cost of these new players will always be contentious, so given that I think we need four new high quality players (at least), and with current inflated market prices, a figure of £10 Million each I feel is reasonable, so will NESV make £40 Million available who knows?

As a lifelong fan I appreciate and understand the history and the nostalgia, but a revamping of Anfield is not the way forward, we need to build a new stadium (65,000 + capacity), now this will cost a minimum of £350 Million (ripoff Britain probably way more) but I can't see the new owners having these funds without borrowing? so will we be back were we started, admittedly they may be able to recoup some of the money with the sale of Anfield but gicen Liverpool's property market I doubt it would cover even a quarter of the cost.

I really hope these Americans haven't looked at Liverpool as a "bargain buy", I know they haven't bought into the club simply for their "love of it", or their "love" of Football, let no one kid themselves, it is an investment, hopefully though it will be long term and not a "quick fix" and off! . . hopefully they realise that TV rights aren't sold on an individual basis, and that we don't independentlysell them!

Good times ahead I hope!

16 Oct 2010 13:28:19
Great result yesterday for us, no doubt.

This is where the new venture starts, but remember the team to face Everton tomorrow will be no stronger than the one who were outplayed and outfought by Blackpool at Anfield.

With RH's negative tactics (borne out of fear of losing) expect yet another lacklustre, boring performance.

It will take time to get back up to speed, and we will lose a lot more matches along the way - including the Derby tomorrow. Sorry fellow Reds, but don't expect too much too soon. We still need a lot of patience, and hope the new owners have this too, which I am sure they will have.

I can't belive you lot on here, belive me there's not going to be any mega spending, the new yonks are going to be running us as a profit makin bussiness not a play thing, bet non of them have been to a SOCCER game in there lives, there will be no 20/ 30 mill signings, i bet roy gets less than rafa to spend on transfers, lets see if your all still talking about the new dawn next summer, it will be the same old same old yonks out this that and the other gaurenteed.
and yes i am a liverpool fan for nearly 30 years but you lot are deluded and im sick of all the bull s-it

for a liverpool fan of 30 years you sure sound like yesterday was the worst day of your life whereas for me it was magical. How is Soccer as you put it any different from anyother sport you invest in the stadium expand and renovate generating more money per game.you Invest in the youth structure so you don't have to spend 20 million on a player other clubs pay that for your players. You create and maintain players profile images creating money through shirt and sponsorship deals. You erradicate debt so all profit is yours to keep and I believe they are going to use the Arsenal model of refurbishing the Area and selling the propertys around anfield when completed for a tidy profit when the market is right.Someone mentioned I don't know if it is correct that government funding may be made available for the latter if England are awarded the 2018 world cup so heres hoping. As a collective buying someone for 20 million would cost them about 1.5 each and easily through gate sales and shirt sales make that back this is not even including money from the champions league.Financially I beleive they have made a killing in getting Liverpool for the price they did and will be over the moon.We can't go wrong with this lot unless they are just blantant liars but I am positive they would have writtten into their contracts what needs to be done specially after the scum we had before.

But you are probably not a liverpool fan and just another Jealous fan . . . . but I hope I have put your worries about my great club to rest.

Looking at the liverpool squad can anyone pick an 11 players to get us up the table injuries are keeping some of our better players from playing regular we need to buy quality and quality that can fill in for any injuries we get time to shake things up and put things right some players not playing right at the moment i can't see why we let insua go on lone and then bring back an injury prone player and konchesky from fulham who isn't good enough not impress with poulsen either or jovanavic babel may not played as much as he should time to cash in on him lucas isn't right for liverpool and time to get rid of maxi and soto kelly should play right back instead of johnson would like to here what other fans think

my team would be

reina
kelly
carragher
agger when fit
mavinga from reserves

gerrard

The SSN interview was clearly an attempt by Hicks to improve his PR is Britain, particularly with the courts. The amount of times he spoke of "respecting the English courts" was remarkable. His legal team realised yesterday that his chances of successfully suing anyone had already been damaged by the disrepect they had shown to the courts on both sides of the Atlantic. He is trying to do the ground work for his future legal action, and fortunately found SSN wre only to keen for an "exclusive". It's not bias by SSN, just business.

Harry Redknapp's little bit of success seems to have gone straight to his head - did you notice the ridiculous gold hair dye on top of the red saggy face? Vanity will be his downfall.

Every player that is linked to Liverpool is suddenly chased by Spurs these - why is that? Redknapp's achilees heel has always been that he buys and sells too many players instead of letting the team settle - just give him time and he'll ruin his team.

16 Oct 2010 11:06:10

Surprise, Surprise, 'Gorgeous' Harry Redknapp has another opinion on Liverpool. The new owners are only in it for the money, he states. As opposed to Himself who is truly in love with every team he manges. Didn't he manage southampton and Portsmouth, Something that a manager who truly cared for his club or had an ounce of loyalty would never do. And why did he leave portsmouth (after bankrupting them due to HIS spending), for more money.

I've got no problem with Liverpool being run as a business, because these days it has to be. Liverpool do not want a sugar daddy Mr Redknapp, We just want an owner who gives us a fighting chance by not saddling us with crippling debt. Liverpool FC when run correctly (as I hope and believe NESV will) will more than adequately provide for itself.

So jog on Mr Redknapp, nobody associated with liverpool cares what you think. And in the spirit of good will, good luck with your money laundering case when that goes back to court.

This week has brought the most crucial week in the usurpassed history of our great club, and with all this turmoil going on around us, the Manc media chat about our clubs 'History' as if all our trophies were won 30 odd years ago, when in fact the past nine years has seen Liverpool lift eight trophies (yes 8)!
We won the greatest ever European cup final of all time, won the greatest Uefa cup final of all time, won the greatest FA cup final of all time, beat barca in the Nou Camp, Real in the Bernabeu (plus tonking them at home), Inter in the San Siro to a standing ovation, and put 4 past the mancs in front of their own cockney hoards, so don't listen to all this negative anti Liverpool crap, SSN, Redknapps etc! For once justice was ours this week!Theres a golden sky. . . . . . . ynwa!

Bring back aquilani, we need creativity, players to cum on and change games with a pass or piece of magic. play a 433 with stevie mereiles and aquilani against teams we shud roll over at home. cole torres and kuyt wud be deadly. till jan then bring in 2 maybe 3 quailty players banega, elia sanchez would be class. fast pacey wingers and the new xabi alonso in the middle of the park.

To the guy who said roy shud go and zola shud be given the job. . . . . . what planet are you from! part of the reason we WERE in that mess was bad managment and crap signings. . . zola was worse than benitez in the transfer market!

I was so excited yesterday after days of emotional turmoil!

Now I here today Roy is intending to play Poulsen - oh my dear god has the man not seen how s* t this guy is!

Straight back down earth for me - thanks Roy! The only plus is if we loose to Everton then maybe NESV will have the courage to bring in a massive world class manager

Hicks was forced to bring in Broughton by rbs to sell the club he probably didn't want him there

16 Oct 2010 09:18:02
Did Hicks not know that giving Broughton power to sell the club was his fatal error.

Well that and the fans f*cked him too. That Email that his son send saying "leave me alone f*ck face" was the end of his son at the club. Then bringing in Broughton to sell the club was his other mjor error. He should held out for a muppet and kept frustrating the sale process untill rbs hook the club away from him.

Just wondering what does tom Hicks have left now that lfc is done? will he waste more of his money on court cases. Is he still rich? I thought LFC was the last of his businesses

i wouldn't mind having Zola as our next manager. Time to sack Roy and get someone else in. Out with the old and in with Zola

Get in a good striker couple of wingers. sell off some of dead wood like babble, maxi, and maybe look at a better lbk.

But i wonder how long it will take Mr Henry to get his money back from the club. The players will have to dig themselves out of this hole cole gerard and torres have the quality, but the rest of them are just making up the numbers. we need three players in by jan. Whats the odds of getting our loan players back to at the club to help.

I am glad to see the back of H&G but I don't put all the blame on them for the state of LFC.
I think when they took over they probably had good intentions but I think the credit crunch screwed them and they couldn't do what needed to be done although they could've been more honest about it.

I also think Rafa did more damage than anyone realises, most of the players he signed were never good enough for LFC and I wanted him to go a couple of years ago although when he did go I didn't think it was good timing he should've still been here this season.

As for Roy well we'll have to see what he can do but I don't think he is for LFC he's not what I'd call a top manager and that's what we need

Would a man like Mr Hogson be willing to give up control of the team to red-sox. If they would like to instill a team of coaches and methods.
Management by comittee, will Hodgson stand for this, to be a empty figurehead for the management side of the club.

Not to sure on these new owners myself. Lim off to clear all debt and big transfer funds. His seemed a better deal.
But a least that's one hurdle sorted.
1) buy club
2) ease debt
3) install or keep club board
4) Install or keep coach's, manager and players
5) asses stadium capacity or new stadium
6) promote club
Etc etc etc

I think this won't be done early.
Look at Arsenal with there stadium. Almost paid for now.
Manager. Hodgson needs results or I can see Dalglish taking over for a while then maybe Persue Mourinho with a promise of big transfer fund.
Liverpool would be ideal for Mourinho because the fans would love him and the thought of waking a sleeping giant would appeal to him. I reckon summer 2012 he may arrive unless Hodgson/ Dalglish do amazing and he's not needed

F*ck off SOS you know f*ck all, put your tail between your legs, hang your heads in shame how wrong were you about the magnificent 3, stick to what you Know best cheap coaches for the away games and that's it. you will destroy our club as much as hicks & gillet. you are not the voice of the KOP.
why don't you give a big appology to the people who have saved our club.
You are not recognised as a fans group and you will ruin any chance of any of Fans representaion at board room level.
