Use our rumours form to send us liverpool transfer rumours.

29 Oct 2010 23:14:05

I would love to see the majority of the rumours come through for LFC this Janurary.
The only problem is that some of the rumours are not very realistic and because I am an LFC fan I end up choosing believable because I want the best players to wear the red of LFC.

If LFC want to attract top players, they need to keep the Top players already playing for club. It was great to hear that NESV are focused in keeping prized accets at LFC and are focused on improving the squad (LFC official web site).

All LFC need to do now is to climb the table and put themselves back into contention for 4th spot. At the moment this looks very unlikely to happen, but it is a long season and teams will loose and gain momentum over the course of the year.
This means LFC still have a chance of 4th if they pull their socks up and move on from the mess and misery caused by the previous American owners.

Hello ed.Dont like to promote other web sites especially on this one because its the best ever but all lfc fans should check out former us congress man joe scarbourogh's interview on empire of the kop.I found it facinating as a liverpool fan.He is friends of one of the owners.Check it out in audio. liverpool 4 bolton 1

If arsenal has thought us anything its that kids don't win the prem. . . .think of that when you start bitching about giving them all a game. calling for roy's head? wise up. .

@ wasn't it a famous player of yours that once said on national TV you don't win anything with kids? Im no liverpool or manu fan, but from what i hear your youngsters are really very good. You will never win anything with the shower Woy is playing now, so i say give them a chance.

Well guys, seems like John Henry means buisness, no selling of top players and spending in the Jan window. Don't know about you but this makes me feel a lot better. Lets start getting behind players and manager. We will have to spend clever in the market and get only players who will make a big change.

Ed, Dempsey is a GOOD player, but if you think he's the answer then you've lost sight of the question. .

Hi ed i think we should be looking at young spanish players like javi martinez, naves, good on the ball and capped for spain, other players like bastien shweisnsteiger(free), hulk, coentrao for lb, i can't comment on sanchez but sounds good, dont know bout likes of turan if he was good enough why havent other top teams in europe snapped him up , deffo not ashley young over rated and over priced same with swp, bent arent good enough , id try for affelly, elia, hope roy hodgeson is fired makes bad signings ie polseun crap , sign young quick gutsy players who are comfortable with the ball at there feet please nesv
{Editor's note - Schwiensteiger is not on a free, if he was he would more than likely go to someone playing in the champions league}

29 Oct 2010 17:58:08

Ed, do u tink if we cn only keep reina and torres if we buy world class players or cn we keep them if we cn build on a winning run of games starting with bolton den against chelsea, if we cn put on a convincing perfomance against them especially chelsea den maybe tey will continue wit us even if do nt by any big name players?
{Editor's note - I think there need to be changes to the squad}

29 Oct 2010 17:56:05

Affelay, emanuelson and Gomez would be my three Ed.I think our Defence is Weak, only because the way we play.We have the players to make us stronger, but our woy won't play them.

29 Oct 2010 17:52:56

I prefer drenthe to contreo because drenthe would be less than half the price of contreo and drenthe can also offer contreos qualities what do you think ed:
{Editor's note - I would pick Contreo anyday}

29 Oct 2010 17:49:58

These aren't really rumours, just some players who I think would be realistic buys and could strengthen the squad. Firstly Charlie Adam. He's having trouble with his contract at Blackpool so may be available, got fight in him as well as quality. Would be a good squad player. The next is Scott Dann of Birmingham. Watched him a lot since he's stepped up and I'm impressed. Good in the air, doesn't give up and positions himself well. As much as I love Carra, he's declined to the extent that I think he needs to be used a lot more sparingly. Another I'd like to see is Keisuke Honda. The rumour is he wants to play in the Premiership and I think he's class. Young and versatile too, he would really add class to the team. Get him for around £15m and I'd be chuffed. Finally, a lot of you may not share my view but if we are not able to get a top forward like Llorente, I think Kevin Doyle would be a good addition. Works very hard, creates chances for those around him and scores a few himself, good finisher. Could possibly be a bargain buy, if he could be captured for around £10m. By the way, great site ed.

To Omz
You cannot honestly say that N'zogbia is better than Turan and Mata, for starters if you want to compare them on there national teams saying where's mata etc. he has more caps for a very hard to break into spanish squad than N'zogbia does for the currently broken French team. Also Turan's captain for his country i believe.

Then goal returns Turnas is solid and Mata has triple the goals N'zogbia does is just under double the appearances.

Although I have nothing against N'zogbia I feel the other two names you mentioned are superior and will add more.I take your point but we need direct players who are gonna make us go towards goal when we get into the final third not sideways or cutting inside like we currently do. We need players who are going to get to the byline and whip it in and beat a couple of players if he needs to. And this is something n'zogbia does on a regular basis and that is why clubs like arsenal and lfc have been linked with him. He has great great potential and at a relatively cheap price is a signing I think lfc cannot afford to miss. I think he is better than the winger man u got from wigan and he has been classed as a success there so , if n'zogbia plays in a bigger team with bigger players It is my opinion that he will excel. More so than the two players mentioned before who are playing with quality around them but not setting the world on fire.

I just feel he would represent better value for money for the club and the dynamic and tempo of our team play

Yes niang is 30, sory i meant to write 10-12 million, , but surely if we wer to consider spending 18 mill on forlan we must give niang some thought, our deenders couldnt cope with him the last few times hes played against us. .just my opinion that he cud be good.

we need the physical presence in there, nando hasnt got it and often struggles playin up there on his own against physical centre backs.

what do u think of the idea of adebayor, obafemi martins, and adriano aso because he would be realitively cheap and has bags of ability!
ed?
{Editor's note - They are all good players, if I had to pick one of them it would be Adebayor}

"Keep babel he is a good sub but sell maxi, poulsen, lucus, and jovanovic and by some decent replacments and add extra players"

Oh god. . Keep Babel nooooo way, get rid along with Poulsen.If Lucas is happy to be a squad player then keep him, but if we need to keep one it has to be Jovanovic.

John Henry today quashed the idea that Liverpool would allow any top stars to leave in the January transfer window.

The NESV principal owner's comments follow a hands-off warning issued yesterday by Roy Hodgson with regards the future of Pepe Reina.

Henry said: "We have recently read stories about our intentions for the forthcoming January transfer window and have a sense of humour about this type of inevitable speculation.

"As everyone knows we are new to English football, but not to sport, and we are studying all options. Opportunities and value will drive spending in January and in the future.

"Our clear focus from day one of our ownership has been - and will be - to improve the club and focus on what it will take to put Liverpool FC consistently in a position to challenge for trophies.

"We intend to build this club the right way.

"Stories about our top players leaving are destructive and unwarranted but we realise that this kind of speculation is also common.

"We intend to build on the strength of the current squad, not undermine it. And I can reassure our supporters that we have no intention of allowing the team to be weakened going forward."

All this comes on a day when Hodgson outlined his plans to improve the squad in January and insisted the club could still attract top stars from around the world.

How come so many people on here talk about the likes of Honda, Llorente, suarez, mata, turan, sanchez, defour and lopez when majority have only watched them on youtube! ! !

Maybe they did see them on youtube or something similar. but if you consider that Roy has seriously looked at carlton cole. then i for one would rather someone from youtube any day!

All the players you mention are class acts anyway, name me one that won't improve our team. So. yes i take your point, but i am sure clubs utilise that medium anyway. maybe as a prelude to actual scouting

If you want to see a player on youtube. look at Hulk

I think that we should get rid of babel for £9m in the january transfer window.
Then we should buy MATA and LLORENTE. Both spanish and torres will be happier and play better.

Reina

{Editor's Note: I think it will be tough to get £9M for Babel.}

Johnson Skrtel Agger Konchesky

Maxi Gerrard Merieles Mata

Torres Llorente

In the summer sell lucas and poulsen and jova.buy turan and contareo(spelling).

Reina

Johnson Skrtel Agger Contareo

Turan Gerrard Merieles Mata

Torres Llorente

This team is quality and can win the league.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

it's a good team but it's not good enough for the title. Also you need more then a first team to win a title. You need a whole squad full of quality. It's def a top 4 team. Well that's if roy isn't in charge.

Would rather see sánchez/ hazard instead of mata/ turan or a mix of both.

I agree, it would be ideal to partner Torres with another Spaniard because of the shared language. Doubt we could get Mata though, I think he is staying at Valencia.

29 Oct 2010 15:07:20

Whats the point? if you look at all the other team rumour pages, apparently we are all buying the same players in january, utterly pointless. I know im trying to kill the last hour or so of work but this is just taking wasting time a bit too far! ! ! 11

29 Oct 2010 15:06:51

Whats all this bollox about Santa Cruz. he is s* te. If he is that good why are Man city getting rid of him. We don't want anyones elses rubbish. How many goals has he scored or assisted with, stop talking about average players coming to us. We should only be considering world class players or promising youngsters, not has beens, and hyped up rubbish.
Get real. I am sick of so called fans presenting names of players who are clearly crap or that they have heard of via the grapevine or some poncy you tube clip.
Rumours is one thing, the rest is just poor wishful thinking, and really crap football knowledge.Now stop pissing me off and put some proper rumours on here.

29 Oct 2010 15:05:29

We have to take a long look at the LFC squad.
The following players are never going to win us the title: -
Itandje
Aurelio
Konchesky
Insua
Carragher
Kyriagos
Jovanovic
Babel
Degen
Aquilani
Poulsen
El Zhar
Kuyt
Spearing
We need to ship all of these players out and build from there.
Make the back bone of the club: -
Reina, Agger, Srktel, Johnson, Gerrard, Meireles, Cole, Torres, Shelvey
Then Bring in: -
Coentrao
Elia
Mata
Banega
Arda Turan
Llorente
Then we will will truly have a world class squad with strength in depth! !

Alrite ed been keeping tabs on your site for ages now and a do feel there are alot of mancs on her trying to wind us up im also getting annoyed with journalist such as Barney Ronay from the Guaridan is quote today

Portuguese news rag Ultima Hora reports that Liverpool are prepared to "break the bank" to sign Benfica's striker Oscar Cardozo, who has scored 81 goals in three years. In which case, it will presumably have to be a very small and notably fragile bank

These remarks do my nut in and a hope we prove all those doubters and anti liverpools fans wrong would list them but a would be here all day. Why do these people feel we still have no moneyand won't attract topclass player, we are liverpool football club there isn't now one bigger in my eyes

Any way ive had a few spats way you on potential managers and singing propects you got me excited thinking we would have manager in after Blackburn game. My choice now would still be between peigrenni and Rykjarrd and sigings
1 striker Lorenti or Romelu Lukaku
2Wide man Sanchez has to be priorty im not into young
3 Would luve contero

Do you feel all transfer activity will be handled as the takeover and do you now if board is in place yet.
{Editor's note - We will not know who is signing untill they sign, it is more than likely everything will be kept behind closed doors}

This site is becoming something of a joke, i swear this week has been laughable! Is it because its half term and all you schoolkids are bored so have decided to post loads of nonsense on this beloved site? This site needs a system where only registered members can make posts, otherwise it turns into a laughing stock like it is at present. I reckon half the posters are mancs or schoolkids, if everyone registerd things could be monitored much better, then we could tell who the genuinie posters are and who all the p*sstakers and b*lls* tters are, sort it our ed ;)

p.s. If hodgson is allowed to spend our money then you can all stop dreaming about hazard, mata etc. .expect him to buy overpriced aged EPL rejects that he feels have experience. . Please let it be true that King Kenny is now in charge of scouting, Hodgson should not be allowed to buy anymore poulsons or koncheskys, he had his chance at buying players and enough is enough i say! {ed's note - not a chance that is going to happen, it takes a lot of time and effort and costs money to do. All you can do is keep an eye on the signatures on the posts and see who is talking rubbish and who isn't.}End of the day this is a " Forum" and basixally what your saying is ageist because your saying that all the school kids are posting rubbish whereas i'm a "school kid" and i have'nt posted any bit of rubbish.

Appointment of Woy made me think of tossing away my season ticket. if Beckham ever walked into my club as a member of staff i would cast away 40 years of following my team. . .

29 Oct 2010 14:37:41

I agree with Ed that we won't spend loads this January, but it's important we go for qaulity. I would go for Pienaar & Elia (awesome) player. Also we need a striker so do we go for 1 or sell Torres & go for 2? Don't get me wrong, Torres is world class when he's fit, but that's the problem. Surely a partnership of Aguero & Benzema would be terrific. If we keep Torres then a player like Llorente would complement him. However, it looks like Torres could be off in the summer so why bother with a partner & just cash in now.

Gav the red

i think what i have seen of him Llorente can lead the line by himself but he is great header of a football so would need to good wingers to get crosses in to him

2 wingers sanchez and honda

sanchez (chile) south american break into that market become everybodys second team there

honda (japan) break into asian market big time

2 very very good players very marketable, young
would be perfect

i don't believe he will be bought to just complement torres

Tazz YNWA

29 Oct 2010 14:34:27

I just had a thought . . . . . . . . . .
we are in desperate need of a left back, wingers and a striker.

but the left back position why don't we try and push some youth through. Mavinga looks brilliant at the young age of 19.

as for wingers me personally would like to see Ashley Young or at least a player with the same ability.

and a striker a big lad with the ability to create space for Torres and also score 15 goals a season something we haven't had for many a season now,

thats the only reason i wouldn't have Kevin Davies.

i think personally Llorentee of athletic Bilbao is the man.

Parker jnr
ed ( what do u think of these suggetions )?
{Editor's note - I think Llorente would be a good signing and Honda with a winger like Turan, Sanchez and A. Young}

29 Oct 2010 14:24:46

Reports in America suggest Torres, Reina, Gerrard and Cole want Beckham on loan in January. He can play the role vacated by Alonso.

29 Oct 2010 14:21:58

I don't know about anyone else but I do NOT want Mario Gomes. .he's dreadful!
Big money from Stutgart to Munich but he hasn't justified it in any way whatsoever. He is trully trully awful, as overrated as Ibrahimovic. Ditto Carlton Cole but noone except Roy rates him worthy.
We need either a overlapping runner type to one two with Torres or a player who can hold the ball but score as well, Llorente is one of several. I am not sure about Young either, he is English and can cross when he is in the mood but that's about it from what I've ever seen, and has finished well on two occasions that stand out. If he played as he can do every week then maybe but he goes missing far too often and we got lads who do that already. Alexis Sanchez or Turan or Podolski even really are better options. My choice to fit with what we are trying to do with the club would be Jarvis but Big Mick would have us payin for their new team bus full of new players if we went for him
We don't need defenders we got loads of options across the line we just need to see them play.
Ed or viewers any thoughts

Ed: what do you think drenthe he's good right {ed's note - he is a good player, but there has to be a reason why he could never get near the Madrid side. I would want to know more about him before I considered signing him.}
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Drenthe apparently has a bit of an attititude prblem like many Dutch players. I also remember Drenthe and Gerrard having a bit of fisticuffs in a pre season friendly against Feyenoord 2-3 years ago. {ed's note - has to be a bit more than a bit of attitude there, Madrid were bereft of left sided player for a while and he never got games. I don't really care about the fight with Gerrard, he probably just refused to change song on his i-pod or something ;o)}
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
GOOD JOKE ed. To be fair on Gerrard, I think it was more Drenthe wanting it out with Gerrard on that occasion.

Got a question for anyone. If man city came calling and offered 40 million + Adam Johnson would you accept it?

=======================================

In a heartbeat. 40 million would surely get llorente and sanchez if not im sure the owners wouldn't mind sploshing a little extra.

What do u think ed? {ed's note - there is no way NESV would target Quaresma, he is one of those whose value is dropping.}
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
This is an example of agents sending details of their clients to football clubs throughout Europe hoping someone might be desperate enough to offer him a contract - Quaresma failed at Chelsea and Inter. An example of too much too young.

Ermm that isn't funny. I think you'll find you'll get your jumper pulled over your head and a severe beating. So i would strongly advise any one going around and saying that within earshot of Mr S Gerrard. Plus the C(riminal)P(rotection)S(ervice) will have to jump in and blame you for starting the ruck! :) Shame on you Ed, you really should know better, someone is going to get their jumper well ruined!

Love this site Ed & think you are all doing a great job, but can you add a gossip column for press reports rather than LFC fans trawling through the rubbish on here i.e. "I have a source". . yeah, probably the papers this morning.
Reading fans points of views are good, but I hate liars.
No one knew about NESV & no one knows about potential targets. We can all take a stab in the dark & maybe get one right out of one hundred.

"At other clubs, when the form is bad, they can start to criticise, but here they seem to try and help you even more. That's the great thing about Liverpool."

Jovanovic added: "I am sure all the players can get better and we can play as a team. Everybody is trying really hard in the training sessions to get it right.

"I don't think people can say we haven't worked hard in the games, but a lack of confidence and lack of luck can have a big impact."

Thankyou Milan. The first two paragraphs are EXACTLY what i want to hear. Duckula

People continue to hammer Carra and the other centre halves we have at the club but the problem lies in the big gaping hole left by Masha.

I agree look at any top side and you will find a top class holding midfielder, we have poulson and as a result have resorted to playing Lucas there. If we are playing 1 or 2 upfront modern football demands a ball winner. Roy's successor get on it!

29 Oct 2010 13:05:38

I would like to congratulate the new owners on finally bringing a little integraty back to the club with they way they have handled both the initial purchase and events since.

We are no longer the laughing stock of Europe and, hopefully, the good vibes been transmitted from Anfield, should help attract some top young talent.

Everything they have said to date has made both excellent business and football sense and, if they follow this through with cash for the right players, I can see us being a force again within the next 2 or 3 seasons.

That said, I do think we need to brace outselves for the departure of some of our 'older' but top players - Gerrard, for example - Will he be willing to wait (at his age) another few years in the hope he fulfills his dream of winning the league with the Reds? If Real or Inter come knocking, I doubt it !

Same goes for Kuyt plus the likes of Babel, Cole and Johnson, who are on huge salaries, could also be shown the door should acceptable bids be received.

The Americans are extremely clever, and will not just look at the 'headline' offers when accepting bids - They will also look at what can be saved over the remaining term of the players contract etc.

I cannot see any of the aobve being actively 'sold' i.e. with the club 'inviting' offers, but I do believe some will be leaving - And expect to see more swap deals in the future - There is limited money in football and it will suite a lot of clubs, especially with the new rules on the way !

Liverpool next season will be compeating with v likes of barnsley next season

united united united

ha , I take it theres not much going on at the united site. I have genuinley never looked at their site, I have never felt the need too. There must not be any player rumours due to the impending debt repayment. As a liverpool fan I feel sorry for the fans of any club burdened with debt, infact there was a lot of united fans commenting, on general football chat rooms, wishing liverpool luck on getting rid of H&G during the court case. There in a similar posistion themselves althought it hasn't quite come to a head yet. But when an ignorant supporter like this comes on here slagging us off it makes me laugh cos they when all other clubs are buying the glazres will be looking to sell. And if you don't beleive me, where has the ronaldo money gone. Because you still havent spent no where near 80million since he left.

Ps I would post this on the united forum but that would be disrespectfull to the football fans aware of the glass house there in and in any cas I know you'l be back here checking our site anyway. lol.

I have to say if i were associated with Torres, i'd be more than a little disappointed by the amount of fans who are even asking the question should we sell him and use the cash for other strikers.

The answer is simple. Let us not forget what he has bought to the club, and whilst injuries have surely stopped him becoming a club legend, for the time being, there is enough time for Torres to get back to his sensational form of 07/ 08. All he needs is players of the same ilk as himself in attacking positions. Not Ngog, Babel, Voronin, Jovanovic.

I like the Hulk and Fernando Llorente links. Both big and strong, not out and out goalscorers (we already have the best) but players who could live with the pace and physical nature of the Premier League but have the ability to be good positive signings and give vital and much needed support to Nando.

With the arrival of Meireles, the connection with Hulk is closer and if the player himself needs an inside opinion of the club, he now has one.

I do not think that the likes of Forlan, Aguero etc. have the presence to star in England. You need to be more than just a very, very good player to be a success in certain Countries. It's far easier to look good when the pace of the game is at snail's speed, a totally different proposition here in England.

Hulk, in particular fits the bill in terms of what is needed. He is big, strong, athletic and powerful to boot. Perfect.

People continue to hammer Carra and the other centre halves we have at the club but the problem lies in the big gaping hole left by Masha. The role he played left the centre backs far less exposed then they have been this season. Carra was superb against Arsenal on the opening day of the season and the common relation is Masha! i am not saying Carra is poor without him i think all i am saying is without the support of a quality defensive midfielder anchored in front of the back four the centre backs are being stretched and pulled from the runners from midfield. Carra is still a very good defender but if he is left exposed as he has been so many times this season he will struggle to deal with runners that should be picked up from the midfield.

Its hilarious all the names being bandied around on here, we will not sign any world class players, we are not an attractive proposition for any world class players and if that clown Hodgson is still in charge in January we will be saying goodbye to the few world class players we have.We have to accept the fact that the glory days are long gone, there are many teams in the Premiership who are far superior to ours, the new board have to be bold and brave and make the big decisions.We need a complete overhaul starting from
Mr Hodgson, it scares me to think who he may buy in January. . . . . .mid table mediocrity beckons for a few seasons to come i fear.

Liverpool, need not to go on a mad spending spree in Jan, what they should do is invest in young players for the future, maybe sign 6 real quality youngsters to eventualy replace the main spine of the team, 6 this year and 4 next year, plan for the next 5 years not just this season, put a manager in with the courage to bring the youngsters through, and hope this seasons squad can turn things round.

Ed (at least one of you!) - only a couple of weeks ago you were saying that you were hearing from two players that Roy was on the way out, and that some senior players were refusing to play for him again. Since then I have read the site only to see that you are now backing him to stay and think he should be given more time etc etc. I'm very confused - what is the correct story?!
{Editor's note - I do not know lol, I am not the Liverpool Ed.}

All this paper talk is total and utter cr*p but in a way its good as i for one am happy that now we don't seem to do all our dirty linen out in the open. the fact that the papers are having to make cr*p up is a good thing it means we are returning to the good old liverpool days when we keep our cards well and truly close to our chest. keep the faith they arent tom and jerry lets give them time and ignore the manure biased shi* sheets because theyre making it up as they have nothing remember nesv said when they took over 'expect us to under promise but over deliver' the good days will return

The Daily Mirror is reporting that Bastian Schweinsteiger is available on a free transfer at the end of this season. . . but then again they are also calling him a winger. Are these people really journalists?
