Ed02 - further to your comment about the reported offer for Lallana, you seemed to suggest that we had submitted a bid which would never be accepted. Do you think we will continue our recent trend of offering the selling club less than their valuation, only for others to become interested and outbid us? Or do you think we will be more aggressive in our hunt for Brendan's targets?

This transfer window started brightly, everyone positive (or deluded) about the prospects for new signings and our chances of a top 4 finish. Now there seems to be an air of dismay!
We were short on quality cover in nearly every position last season, and we have since lost carragher, reina, suso, skrtel, with others to follow. Suarez will go and Agger may follow, and I don't believe that we will be able to replace them players of equal quality.
It seems to me that we have some money to spend, but we don't know where to spend it, or that the players targeted aren't interested in coming to Anfield.
