Hi all,
Hope you all had a good Christmas and happy new year.
Sure us as fans can possibly change stevie mind, there could be a lot of ways for example new song? Maybe an banner, flags etc, we can't lose the heartbeat of are team he's done so much for us in he entire career we should show him that we don't want him to go and hopefully he might turn his head? I hope he does and i hope you all agree with me we need to persuade him that we want him there an persuade the club to make more of an effort to keep him.

He'll be 35 at the end of the season, he won't/can't play every game next season, should we carry on paying him £100k+ per week for sitting on the bench? He can earn £200k per week in the states, my guess is he made thi decision months ago. No room for sentiment in football.

2.) £200k a week in the states? Where do people get these figures from? £10 million a year? Great work if you can get it!

3.) He's not going to make anything near that in the MLS. The highest paid player in the entire MLS is Kaka on ~£85k per week and Henry was on about £50k a week. The LA Galaxy total wage bill is $12.2M, or ~£8M annually, on revenues of ~$44M (~£28M, or around 12% the turnover of Liverpool).

No player will make 200k in the states in dollars never mind pounds or euros. Sorry mate. He's not moving to the states for more money.

{Ed001's Note - that depends on whether you go by what the 'guaranteed salary' is, the current highest being Kaka at $7.2m a year, or the real figures, which are much higher. Even if you go by the guaranteed salary, Kaka is on about £100k a week, with much more in bonuses and advertising than he could have got anywhere else. Gerrard will be sure to get more than him. To suggest it is nothing to do with money is sheer ignorance.}

5.) I really can't see Galaxy (if that is indeed the club he goes to) paying him more than double what they were paying Donovan. Galaxy supporters would not be pleased by that I don't think and salary information is all public domain for the MLS.

{Ed001's Note - Galaxy supporters wouldn't care, why would they? They just want to watch the best players and see their team win. Not all salary information is public anyway, Kaka is going to be earning more than double the declared salary.}

Honestly, we can't afford that. Our revenue is decent by MLS standards, but nowhere near enough to afford to pay anyone the likes of £200k a week. That's literally about a third of our turnover and more than the entire wage bill last season.

Just wish people would face facts - if SG was 'only' going to be on £50k - £85k per week in the states then he may as well have accepted what LFC offered him. Truth is that he won't accept reduced game time, saddens me to admit it but MUFC never had an issue keeping Scholes and Giggs even when they knew they wouldn't play every game.
