Just thinking of my first earliest memories of Liverpool and am currently quite drunk having been driven home by a Liverpool fan taxi driver. On the eve of a new season, I'm bubbling with excitement as our beloved Tuesday/Wednesday nights in Europe's finest competition, where we belong, return.

As a lad born in 91, I remember my first Liverpool jersey being the infamous bright and glorious yellow kit in 1997. I demanded that jersey and I couldn't be more glad I did. I wore that jersey proudly but probably didn't realise how important the club was and would be in my later life. Michael Owen was an idol of mine throughout these years. I received a present one Christmas, Michael Owens guide on becoming a great striker only for him to leave us when a greater opportunity arose for him. While I chose him as my first hero there was a Legend making his way up through the ranks of the club.

As this new season kicks off, more and more people write us off, the more I love it. At this stage I'm finding it hard to pick my favorite player, bought the new jersey this season and while there are plenty names I could put on the back of it there is only one name I can think of putting on the back as he has always been there as I have grown up, Stevie G. he's carried the club upon his shoulders for some time now, its time for those around him to step up and help him attain what he rightfully deserves. Anyone that has played competitive sport will know how much a responsibility he has and will know how much it can take out of you yet he stands tall walking out on that hallowed glorious turf of Anfield, a dream every pool fan could dream fan has dreamed about all his life. People slate the man on here every now and then, people may slate me for my love of the man but I think after the years he has given us, dragging us through thick and thin, his name should ring out louder and louder around Anfield. A lesser man may have left us for more glory and a better contract, he thought about it but didn't and I will tell my children about this man for years as I grow up, show his clips, moments of greatness against Olympiacous, AC Milan, West Ham, Manchester United and others. An ultimate hero.

But as we walk into this new season knowing we are not alone with 96 angels watching over us I just want to wish the boys all the best and want them to know I will always be proud to be a supporter of this club. I call on every pool fan to get behind the team no matter what, there will be low points inevitably in the season but as supporters it is up to us to get behind them and drive them on.

Sorry for the long post, my first ever post on this website but I couldn't contain my happiness in where we are as a club. I love the direction the club is going in, I believe the future is very bright for us no matter what other people think. And that is one of the most important things to me, people outside the club don't understand what it is all about, what we are capable of. This current crop of players really excites me.

So I end this post thanking everyone that took their time to read this.

This is Liverpoooooollllll!!
