This transfer window is the most important window for us in a long, long time. With 4th within reach, and the promised land of the Champions League and all the positives that come with it looking very achievable for the first time since 2009, now was the time to really improve. It is clear we are desperate for a LB and CM, and if we sign a good player in both positions I see no reason why we would miss out on a Champions League place, and keep hold of our best player come the Summer. However, instead we have done nothing, and if we don't sign the players clearly needed to fill the gaping holes in our squad the dream of Champions League football returning will remain exactly that, a dream.
FSG need to show their worth. "But they saved us!!" No longer cuts it. No real developments on the stadium is a really big concern, and it is really strange that they fail to see the massive importance of this window, and the drastic effects choosing to spend or not choosing to spend in this window will have on the future of the club.
However, it should also be pointed out that Rodgers has wasted a lot of money since joining, and I imagine it would be difficult to ask for money for a new midfielder when one he spent £15million on has spent most the season on the bench. Plus the £20million or close to it on Aspas, Alberto and Illori who have offered nothing so far.
The next week could have a massive say on the future of this football club, and I hope the men making the decisions get it right.

Finally registered, it's a bit sad that it has come to this to ensure that the Ed's don't get abused, but if it improves the site I am all for it, especially if it means more of an insight given by the Editors. It's also a shame to see so much talk about Suarez today, on a day that should have been all about Steven. Especially as it will be a very long time that we see another of his kind at this football club.
Whilst I'm on here, it really does shock me that Ed02 recieves the majority of the abuse, he has been pretty much spot on all Summer, and I for one really appreciate his/her insight. {Ed002's Note - Thanks - we are trying to make it better for all. As and when I have time I'll be dropping in some snippets which might be of interest.}

Crokie, I don't see your point. The club ripping the fans off to gain an extra 2 million will not allow us to 'compete', it is just them showing they do not care about the supporters in any way. I agree that our home support is now very poor, but our usual rivals for the top 4 have big issues with the atmosphere at home games; Arsenal, United, City, Chelsea and Spurs are all incredibly quiet at home too, so it isn't really a place we are behind on, we are unfortunately becoming like the rest, as everything that makes us unique is being removed, including most importantly the heartbeat of the club, the local fans. If we take this idea of football clubs being businesses, which I don't agree with by the way, then the best ran business would be Bayern Munich, who charge fans considerably less than we do, and have no issues with competing.

I haven't posted on here in a long time, but decided to check the site today to see if the message was being spread about the walk out, and I can't believe some of the posts I have seen about it. Talk about failing to understand the point. The protest is aimed to help all fans, how can anybody be against that? I have never felt so disconnected from the club, and reading the views on here, from fellow supporters. The club once reflected everything great about the people and the city of Liverpool and became world famous because of it, but we are fast becoming like the rest and this may well be the final nail in the coffin.
