Hi Eds, this is my first post, i've been checking this site like crazy for the past few months - thanks a lot for all your time and effort.
Are we being linked to any defensive 'holding' midfielders atm? I personally think our defensive options are adequate, we only seem to to crumble when teams play on the counter attack as our midfield offers little protection, with the blame instead being squared upon (for example) Skrtel or Reina.
Lucas, although a fantastic player, just gets dribbled past too often in my opinion. Although he shows great drive to win the ball back I just don't see him as the strong physical presence required to sure up defence and 'command' play in midfield - especially considering the amount of players we sometimes commit to attack.
Are Liverpool even looking at this position?
Thanks, Jonny {Ed002's Note - Welcome Jonny. There were a couple of guys that Liverpool to a glance at right at the start of the year and I know that Ed001 got pretty "hyped" (I am being polite) about Medel, but I don't think it has been seen as any sort of priority this summer.}
