I know everyone is calling for Brendan to go. I can of course understand why. The list of concerns I have are increasing each day. However I am not convinced that sacking him at this stage makes sense.
The owners have always wanted a different structure within the club. They do not understand football and I suspect have been badly advised. I hear they are reviewing the club? I am not sure who is doing the review or what they hope to achieve from it.
My concern is that we lack a clear strategy. We have heard about signing good young players with strong resale potential. Then we seem to have no plan or patience for developing them. In fact I would say almost every area of the club appears disjointed. It seems to me the missing link is the director of football. Thanks to this site I think I now understand the role differently. One of the EDs said Ferguson was one in reality and the Cruyff examples have been interesting. We really need someone like Cruyff to pull all areas of the club together.
I really hope that if Rogers is replaced it's done in a structured way. Let's work out what our structure needs to be. If it is a DOF i'd like us to focus on appointing the right person for this role. If not I suspect we sack Rogers and are back in a mess soon enough. If Rogers and the DOF can't work together then Rogers can obviously leave.
The only other option would be to sack him and appoint someone until the summer. If we do this who is available? A few Liverpool legends could lift the mood but in reality I am not sure if this would improve things.
Anyway just my thoughts
