Just wondering what is the deal about Skrtel, he seemed likely to move at one point but it now it doesn't look so certain? {Ed002's Note - Skrtel was certainly expected to leave but I am told that Csonto has told Zenit St Petersburg that his client will stay in Liverpool and it will be Agger that will leave. That seems a little surprising although it was clear that Agger wanted to hear what Monaco were putting on the table via his agent. Now it seems Barcelona may turn their attention to Agger if their preferred choice is not available. If Liverpool sell Agger or Skrtel then another centre back will be required. If not, then perhaps Ilori will be it. We will see.}

My sad opinion on Lucas Leiva,

I like Lucas, I truly do, I think he is smart, neat and tidy player who is often underestimated. However I believe it would be to both Lucas's and our benefit for him to leave.

Rodgers has been going on about the how he wants versatile players which Lucas just isn't. Since Hendo got suspended Lucas came into the midfield and the energy, and power was lost. As a DM he is still quality but that position has been taken up by Stevie. But we need depth? yes we do, Gerrard is not young and can and will get injured but I personally feel that Allen could be step into that position comfortably while offer something elsewhere.

This said I want Lucas to stay he is a veteran and adds experience but if and offer comes in for him I would take it besides he may not be happy playing in the little games to let our stars have a rest and my have ambitions of his own.

The curious case of the Liverpool RB and is it good bye to Glen?

Unlike the issue of the LB, what will happen at RB is still up for debate. Currently We have Several British (and Irish) talents at RB in Glen Johnson, Jon Flanno, Wisdom, Martin Kelly and McLaughlin.

This is a lot of players especially with the form that Glen has had this season and the wages he's on, his age and the most important to me his almost couldn't care attitude that has been highlighted by the energy of Flanno on the opposite side.

To me we should sell Johnson and replace him with the talent we have. With Flanno 1st choice (and able to cover LB if needed) with Wisdom offering competition. Along side a Kelly offering depth at both CB and RB with McLaughlin being more of a chance to prove him self next season.

Just watched the second half of the Granada v Barcelona match and Ilori had a great game. I would love him to play a bigger role next season at Liverpool.
